Mel Blanc was the man of 1000 voices. Rich Little was only an impressionest. And Frank Gorshin was the master of impressions. He actually looked like the people he did. He's the only one that ever did Steve McQueen.
When I was a kid & teenager, Rich Little being a guest on a show was one of the few things that could, until he was done, temporarily tear me away from any of the following: Cartoons (any, including Superfriends!), The A-Team, Airwolf, Knight Rider, Streethawk, and even occasionally The Dukes Of Hazzard. And several/ANY other shows I'm not thinking of right now. And, whether you already know it or not, that is the absolute ULTIMATE praise from a 70s and 80s kid, lol. 😂 I didn't even really know many of, or much about, most of the celebrities and politicians that Rich Little imitated, but I knew that's how they MUST sound. In fact, probably most of them, I learned their mannerisms and voices for the first time, hearing Rich Little imitate them.
Damn I love that guy old school a true professional . My favorite is the Strawberrys Bogart on Johnny Carson if you were in another room you could swear that was bogart
@@gnome53 Exactly. Again no Disrespect towards those in this clip but me too. I, don't think he ever Did guest appearance on this show.. ... though that is just conjecture. Would LOVE to Stumble Across a Guest Mystery Appearance of him in whats my line.. (!) 😆😂😂😂
The phrase made me think of Mel too. He was a character voice artist (and sometimes an actor on a sitcom now and again, if you know The Jack Benny Show, or Dennis the Menace), while Little was an impressionist. For me they are two very different things,. Little and Frank Gorshin were the two big mimics in the 60s and 70s.
You're comparing apples to oranges. Mel Blanc supplied the voice for fictitious animated characters. Rich Little does impressions of well-known celebrities. Not the same thing.
These comments are from young people that have no clue. I find a lot of these comments, disgraceful. This guy was one of the best if not the best. Extremely hard to do. If you ever say rich little and disappointment in the same sentence, you might be a jack ass.
I love how well he followed community guidelines. He was family friendly for sure. I've never laughed at a single thing he's ever done, but he's synonymous with celebrity impersonations. Yes he doesn't have to use potty language like fuck or shit. He's too classy to use a word like 'vagina'. He should update his impressions if he hasn't already, to include famous modern people. Or maybe not. I think it would be funny if he imitated Dana Carvey doing Jimmy Stewart getting a blow job. He might have to follow community guidelines. I think he could do it though. He would probably be justifiably uncomfortable talking about his own penis. Maybe he could throw in Richard Nixon and call it Tricky Dick. He certainly influenced a lot of non family friendly comedians though. There's a definite irony in that. In general though I hope he makes a come back because of his strong affect on comedy.
To be honest I was expecting a different person who is known as "the man with a thousand voices. I've nothing against this fellow, mind you, I was just thinking of someone else.
Rich Little is still going strong and just as funny.

Robert Goulet, Rich Little, Pat Carroll: Episode aired Dec 28, 1970
Rich Little's face kinda makes me think of Jim Carrey.
😂 ❤
No need to be disappointed: Both Blanc and Little have been nicknamed "The Man of a Thousand Voices".
👍
Boris Karloff doing a commercial? Okay.
Karloff did commercials. Here's one. ua-cam.com/video/BlJK0Y_LhIQ/v-deo.html&ab_channel=jeffsabu
Lmao
No Disrespect is meant in saying this but Mr Mel Blanc.. ...had an (Extremely) Wider, Broader Vocal Repertoir..
Mel Blanc is who I thought of when I saw "Man of a Thousand Voices" in the title. Don't know if he ever appeared on the C.B.S.

I thought Mel Blanc was " the man of 1000 voices" ?

But... most of the voices were the same. Besides, the best John Wayne impersonation was by Nathan Lane in The Birdcage.
Yes!!!
Ya if your 25..

Disappointed when I read the title of this video & then saw it was Rich Little & not Mel Blanc.

Mel Blanc, perhaps?
