Mechuka also known as Menchukha is a small town nestled 6,000 feet (1,829 m) above sea level in the Mechuka Valley in West Siang District of Arunachal Pradesh, India.The name Men-chu-kha means medicinal water of snow where men is medicine, chu is water and kha is snow though kha also means mouth. The popular name for Menchukha is Mechuka.
Menchukha is situated in a forested valley, surrounded by pine trees and thornbushes. The river Yargyapchu flows in the valley of Menchukha. Mechuka is 180 kilometres northwest of Along (Aalo) and is only 29 kilometres away from Indo-Tibet border.

The first part was a precursor to the wonders of "magical mechuka''. And magical it sure is
Pristine rivers, softly contoured hills and mellow sunlight certainly lend that magical look to the place.
There was no snow yet,but the ice- is it called hoar frost??- was a very strange sight, especially on dried branches.
The homestays are well equipped and well stocked,well located and obviously well manned by the owner.
"Bruce Lee" is quite a character. Helpful,multi talented and a man for all seasons,a man for all reasons.
I think this trip is certainly worth two more blogs. One on ashish' photographic talents and the other on your travails on your return journey. Your tryst with mechanics of the land, and their expertise in patching up impossible situations. If you have the footage, please go ahead and indulge us.
Manish and Pallavi,you really are living it up. Tough jobs balanced by tougher weekend outings.

Which makes me wonder....how dull life will be once you return to Bengaluru. Again makes you wonder how much an obscure virus can impact the thought process,the actions of people.
