      Nope she was not. There were 5 amounts still on the board 3 of which were more than the offer, and all she had to do was open one case in the next round. The first fail where the dude rejects $120K with $1M and $400K still on the board wasn't unreasonable. Then he opens the $1M and makes the mistake of thinking his sob story about starting a family means anything to the banker, so he counters with a 50% increase. The banker obviously rejected that, thus setting him up for a loss based on random chance. He should have countered 10% higher. The producers have an incentive to create epic failures because they cost less but are just as popular with viewers.

      if you don't know why #2 is a total fail, you are terrible at math and common sense..
      the math says $222,000 is a fair offer.. even if she goes on and opens the half million, (a one in 5) the offer would be about 150,000. she has a 60% to win 225,000, she only had to risk 15,000 to win double or more.. one of the worst played games i've seen..

  • @thejedimaster78
    @thejedimaster78 3 роки тому +15

    #2 played the game EXACTLY the right way. One in the hand is worth two in the bush. If she said no deal and the next case opened was the $500,000 then her deal would have dropped, she made a smart move for a guarantee of $165,000, well played!!

      Imagine a sec you make a counter offer:
      -if your case contains more than the counter offer, the bank will accept it
      -if your case contains less than the counter offer, the bank will decline it

    • @MattZRJSRoxy
      @MattZRJSRoxy Рік тому

      @@soupe2000 there's no way for the Bank to know what's in the case, that would be influencing the game and would be seen as rigging an outcome, game shows take great pains to avoid those allegations since rigging a game is illegal. It's why so many game shows are so strict about stuff such as not allowing contestants to leave their waiting rooms without an escort.

    • @soupe2000
      @soupe2000 Рік тому

      @@MattZRJSRoxy In the french version, the bank knows exactly what's in every case. They even play with it, making complety stupid offers, and calling for a bluff.
      They can offer a ridiculously low amount of money when you have still a ton of very high sum of money cases on board to try to make you think you have nothing in your case, to make you accept the low offer while you could've continued. They also do the opposite just to disgust you when you NO DEAL all offerd because you thought they were bluffing, but you end up with a lot less than what they offered you. It's counter bluff
      This has nothing to do with rigging the show, it only makes it more interesting

Still, given the context of the show - making the right decision regarding your case vs the banker's offer - it does fit as example.
