I am 71 years old now, and this song "A Whiter Shade of Pale", still rings loud and strong in my heart, since I heard it first in my high school days. In this rendition of the song by Gary Brooker, in his senior years, the spirit of the song was expressed even better. The original instrumentations in this music: piano, organ, guitar and drums all touch the soul so much in such a way that it is almost hypnotizing. Indeed, this is one of greatest music ever composed and sang. I just heard that Gary Brooker has passed away. It is sad that such real music maker can no longer be here with us on earth, but nevertheless his voice and his music will perhaps forever remain.
RIP Gary. You were an amazing musician. This is a beautiful song and you are an amazing singer. This was my childhood. Absolutely brilliant. I miss my brothers (both deceased )and we discussed the beauty of this song. It has so many brilliant memories. So lucky to have had you in my lifetime. Condolences to your family.

It took Matthew Fisher 40 years but he finally got credit for the distinctive organ solo which the courts agreed was original and not lifted from Bach or anyone else.
I listen to this song every morning and I just found a new one. I haven't seen this one. I don't know if I'm addicted to the words the song or just the voice of Gary Booker..
