Cold ,wet , dirty ,miserable working conditions ,trying to stay on schedule for the client .... Bills to pay, family functions...no shop. You Sir,just earned my respect.
Every one of this guy’s video is a pleasant experience. Top Talent! I’ll spend a whole day in the shop and then he does the same thing in a couple of minutes. Thanks for the videos; they are very uplifting.
Can only imagine what kind of work Allen could turn out in a nice modern workshop! Hats off to you brotha for what your able to do with just God given talent in the back yard! Much respect!
Love it Allen!Re using that door is perfect.I built a similar stove years ago from a 12" square tube scrap.I didn't get much heat out of it until I put a baffle below the pipe to trap the heat inside and make the smoke find it's way out.Won't take much for you to reach in there and tack something below the hole a few inches.
Damn you are good with a cutting torch. I am impressed on you cutting a square shape out of that plate steel, then free cutting that tank. This is the stuff I like to see.
You are the man-pleasure to see someone perform like you do. It is definitely the man not the tools. I'm ashamed I don't get more done in my ivory tower shop with all the bells and whistles. My hat is off to you sir.
Great video build. Take the piece of scrap you cut out for the big chimney pipe and hang it on short chains welded inside just under the hole to create resistance to make the flame and heat go around it. You can play with how high or low you hang it. That will keep a lot more of heat inside your Firebox area . Maybe put some sand in the bottom.😊
When I return to Texas from the middle east, I will look you up and have you build me a pit. I appreciate craftsmen(I am an old carpenter) that are good at their trade and take pride in their work. Keep it up. We need to support small builders like yourself.
Staying busy, is all part of doing whats needed in lifestyles. Lol just make sure there is always time for the family. well built and workmanship is outstanding.
These wood stoves kinda remind me of a little Ben Franklin's first wood stove but they are called potbelly stoves I can't say for sure he invented them but when he introduces them to the public they thought he was crazy that they would explode but he proved them wrong so they been in use for over 200 years it just now new innovations has brought back in use again in many ways
good work. i like the door. i'm currently working on another gas bottle stove. today i learned why it is very important to evacuate the gas from the bottle, even when its empty and depressurized. no valve, empty tank and had a small explosion while working on it. blew the hat right off my head and i'll probably fill it with water next time lol wow. anyway good job
Gotta hand it to you Allen......you do quality work and it's evident that you don't have to go out and look for work. Wish you lived closer to us here in Georgia.
I'm cutting a 33 gallon sandblasting tank in half...17 inch diameter, it's 32 inches long but will be 21 later...my last one was a thrown away gas hot water tank , 15 inch diameter, 24 inches long...I used it for three years but am just making a nicer one now...I found a chrome exhaust stack off of a semi truck that's the right size for my damper so I'm going to use part of it...I use stainless steel screen wire for grates...its pretty good...it hasn't warped in the other one in three years...I figured it would work ...the wire is like 1/8 inch in it...so it's really easy to use...I'll be cooking on it when the snow is flying...
Badass! I like this design. I want to do something similar but add a 20# propane tank on top so the chimney runs through it with a flap. So when the flap is closed the smoke will bypass the tank and only heat gets in so I can use as an oven. Or can open the flap, let the smoke in, and can use it as a smoker. Thanks for the video. Got a lot of good ideas.
I have great respect for your work....Put you a flat plate on top of your stove and you can cook your Thanksgiving Chitterlings outside to keep from stinking up your house....
I love your videos, i wish i lived closer to you. I would offer to come over and help just to learn from you. Years of experience cant be lerned in a classroom. Please keep the videos coming. God bless.
I just uploaded my first attempt at building a Rocket stove heater. Never even heard of them until 2 months ago. Now I can't seem to stop watching what others are building. I liked and subscribed to your channel because of this stove you knocked out... good work.
I cobbled together a little wood burner for my garage shop outta "stuff I had laying around" but damn, I wish I had the kinda stuff laying around that you do! I also wish I could weld half as well as you. Bet that turkey was good stuff!
Alan I love how you put those beautiful things together and I'm glad I'm not the only poor so-and-so who has to work in the dirt. Get onto that shed man
I liked your video and I like that you did that for the church with the turkey I wish I could see some footage thanks for helping out the righteous acts of humanitarians for the baptized believers I really appreciate hearing that people are doing that.
That lifetime grill is exactly like my early made Oklahoma Joe or real simaler to Horizon backyard. They are set up the same way. Not bad I can tell you they need tuning plates! The cooker runs very hot on the firebox end. It needs a slight lean away from firebox so the grease drains and don't fuel the fire. They also need drain valve put in. Firebox needs a slide in wood / charcoal basket and a grate to keep the heat up off the firebox floor. They arent bad just need some upgrades. Post the video when you do the upgrades. Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Shout out from Australia You build some really nice fire boxes and your oxy skills are 👍. I built a fire box around the same size as yours but mine is vertical it has a 4 and a half inch steam pipe flue it burns hot but as soon as I open the door smoke poures out into my shed and I'm not sure why.
You've got some great fabrication skills, looks good man! I've made a couple homemade wood stoves. 1 small barrel stove and one 12" similar type as this from an old green expansion tank. Its fun work! I like the smokers you're making! Keep given er man!
Allen if you own that property a 20x20 shop with a double overhead door would make it easier to sell when you get ready and increase the value of your property. A guy with your skills could build one much for less than most people. Do a patreon and get your fans to chip in.
Get one of the double carports they have down around. Put extra siding on the sides and one end and put gravel floor down. You decide to move and you can take the screws out and put it on a trailer. I have done it twice LOL. Works great.
Hello Allen, I would like to congratulate you for all your work. I have been following him for 1 year on UA-cam and he has inspired me to be able to make barbecues with less quality than you are! I have made 4 barbecues using recycled things and I have also made them as you would like to do more but my work does not allow it. I also want to tell you that I laughed a lot when you cut a flammable container and exploded jajajjajaj it was very funny. I want to send you a very strong greeting from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria in the Canary Islands (Spain).
Just wanted to say I liked the video! Also what (is it it used for) and where can I find 1/4” thick 12” diameter pipe? I would like to build a smaller version of this for a cabin in South Carolina.
Man, I wish you or somebody like you lived in Michigan! I need a new wood stove for my deer hunting tent. It's old, and I need one slightly larger, but not as big as yours! The tent is a Cabelas 12x12 with the added vestibule. Great vid as always, you are very talented!
Why don't you move out here to San Antonio it just snowed this year, the last time was about 10 years ago the work you do would do well any where great work!!
Wow! Very cool circle jig! Are those welding glasses? I've never seen anything like them for welding. Safety glasses yes, but not welding. Your very talented and if I lived near you i would help to organize your work area for the best production of those beautiful grills. Organizing a workflow is sorta my thing. People bring me in esp. Small businesses with limited space. Your really talented and wish you much success!
Ever thought about just putting down 3-4 inches of gravel dust all around your working area? It packs down hard as concrete and if you decide to move you can just throw some grass seed on it and grass will grow back just fine there. Normally cost between $4-12 a ton, the delivery fee is going to be around $150 regardless, so you just as well off getting 16 tons as you are getting 6. Then you have to move and spread it, that is the tough part especially if you have to pick up all your stuff to get it on top of the dust, but the hassle would be worth it to no longer be losing stuff in the mud. I dunno, just a thought; thanks for the videos.
Don't let this UA-cam thing take you away from your work he'll just put a camera up somewhere and do your thing man I'm happy just to watch I know that a lot of people over that way and then maybe at the end the day say something you know I know you always got deadlines a lot of stuff to get done if you don't get them done the customers are going to start going somewhere else on another note I love watching your videos man there every awesome I got a question for you could you do a video on paint and how to paint I'm not a very good painter and I have a paint gun but knowing the right paint and what to mix the paint with the plenty of help cuz I know you paint BBQ Pits all the time thanks for the help preciate it

Yep. In Saskatchewan. -5 to -10 C it's T-👕 weather.LOL

FINALLY ! Someone that knows how to use their torch, I've been watching these clowns using nothing but freaking cut wheels.

WOW, getting all that done under those conditions and doing such a nice job AND making videos on top of that. You're my new hero.
This dude can run a torch like nobody’s business 👍🏻
When I return to Texas from the middle east, I will look you up and have you build me a pit. I appreciate craftsmen(I am an old carpenter) that are good at their trade and take pride in their work. Keep it up. We need to support small builders like yourself.

You are an artist with that cutting torch, sir. Nice work.
Nice looking heater,Toasty warm in that small area you work in,you seem to be buried in work...keep the videos coming...........Fort Worth,Tx
I loved doing metal work but the welding got to my eyes, even with protection. Thanks for sharing!

Nice job on that woodstove! I bet you load that up with some logs and she will throw some heat! Great design brother!

Beautiful job Allen, that is a excellent wood stove. Hoping your family has a excellent Thanks giving!
I hope you get a shop someday, know you will. It’s tough, but you’re doing it right. Hard work to build a business and brand, you’re gonna do it.
Great job, but you need to put in z baffle/ throat plate in to try to keep the heat in the stove and not just disappear up the flue.
and would it help to put firebrick In the bottom?if room permits
Yeah! Do the baffle BBB suggests, and make the fire towards the front instead, that way you heat up more of the metal & get more heat in to the shed.
I just uploaded my first attempt at building a Rocket stove heater.
Never even heard of them until 2 months ago.

Great stove and great job. It burns well and looks good. You have all the knowledge and equipment. I like stoves and have 4 different ones.
Awesome build again Allen !!
I like the repurposing old items !!
I tey to do that as much as possible too !
Those are some nice free hand cutting skills man.

Great work! Keep them videos coming! Im on the other side of the planet and think your craftsmanship is second to none!
That mans skills with the oxy/acetylene torch are most impressive.
I am impressed as well. Alot of people are excellent with a welder, not so many with a torch.

Wow nice job!! Looks like it would go good in a work shop👍👍
You need to weld a smoke shelf in the back of that stove. That will burn the gases better so all your heat doesn't go up the pipe.
Happy Thanksgiving from Greg and Cindy. Keep them videos coming. Awesome news on the brand name your gonna get for your smokers.
As always, great videos Allen! I need to catch up with my projects as well!! Salutations from Laredo Texas!

An old water heater tank works pretty good for that too.
