Shocking that they never "made it". Disgrace man. Even me in loley South Africa have followed them for the last 15 years or so. They talk about luck in the industry, but this surpasses it on so many levels.
LITERALLY ONE OF THE BEST BANDS THAT CAME OUT ON RISE RECORDS AND HAD NO RECOGNITION. YOU CAN LISTEN TO ALL THEIR ALBUMS AND NOT GET THAT CRINGY PUMPED UP OVERLY PLAYED OUT BREAKDOWN FEELING. YOU CAN TELL THESE GUYS LOVE THIS SHIT. just my opinion.
Mainly because it's not just one same thing in every songs like example I love the transition from screaming to singing like in defenses down but people just like ppl like lil pump these days😂 lmao
Hits even harder when you find out he was in a bad place throughout all of it... That's coming from me, who was in a bad place in life throughout all of It Prevails and loved all their lyrics the same, only to find out this guy is now sober with the release of their latest EP 👍
It Prevails paved the way for all modern melodic hardcore and always did it better. such meaningful, heartfelt guitar, and lyrics that still makes me smirk looking back at the 21 year old I used to be... anyone who wants more It Prevails, check out Ian's other current band Unarmed, more skate punk like Bad Religion, but it hits the spot. Please make another It Prevails album Ian, we are dying after almost ten years bro.
This band is so underrated. So many melodic hardcore bands sound just like this yet make more money, have millions of views. It's crazy, the ones who started it all here. So humble
Frank Garcia Are you fucking serious? It Prevails didn't start it all. They're a 2004 band and it's been around since the 90s. I will agree with you that they deserve more attention, though. I didn't learn about them until I heard their cover of Blank Space.
cory mathson If not, a band with the exact same name did, jackass. Excuse me if I'm new to this band. They play the same kind of music and have been around for quite some time. I figured they just had a new look, like any band that's been around for eleven years.
Feenom Arts That's lame, their name is too close to It Prevails, which is much older than them. Their new album cover looks too close to A Day To Remember's Homesick too. I like their cover of Blank Space, but this is the band I've been listening to the whole time since I heard that cover thinking it was them. This is the band I really like. I doubt I'm missing out on much with I, Prevail anyway, but thanks for setting me straight.
Honestly who could dislike It Prevails and what they stand for? There is PURE emotion in every song. Their lyrics talk about real life hardships and struggles, they help you stay positive and give you a whole knew look on life. This is true melodic metalcore!
To those wondering if they are new to Rise. The answer is no, they used to be on Rise. We filmed this video in October 2010 but the song was released in 2007 on Rise. - Justin (The Director)
@Redtractor22 Well I am a Christian haha so it all makes sense. It's not a subject to be overused, when you are a Christian and it's the most important thing in you're life, it's what you make music about.
I remember when I attempted see these guys in augusta, ga. I had just had foot surgery and had only enough money to buy a CD, all the sudden their someone in the band asked if I want to see them and offered to help out. I ending up saying no and just bought their CD. seriously, awesome dudes who make awesome music.
I played with these guys along with Counterparts and Volumes. Definetly one of the greatest days of my life sharing the stage with these guys and seeing them live.
Ian just amazes me. That part right around like 3:02 when the drummer is going crazy on the pedal and Ian drops the last "I am an anomaly!" takes my breath every time.
this continues and will remain to be my all time favorite song. and the fact that i basically know Ian and Chris makes me get exactly what they are feeling
Grew up with these guys as a local band. Wish I could go back to the mid oughts and figure out how to bottle up what made it so special. Because it doesnt exist now.
@sacredxpain Not at all. Ian the lead singer is a very vocal atheist and it permeates through the lyrics that he writes. Look up their song explanation content off their first album and read the lyrics online, they come with a note where he clearly states he's an atheist. Source...I've talked to him a few times and we're friends on facebook.
To the people who think that It Prevails is emo, check out the meaning to stroma and actually listen to their lyrics...that basically sums up the music they make, this is one of the most influential bands I've heard in my life....
Oh God! Tk u guys for this.. It makes my day better when I watch this clip Congratz to It Prevails for the deep song and to the director for the perfect photography!! Know that your song can reach far away! (A fan from Brazil)
one of the greatest bands of all times, best melodic hardcore band listened to this band all the way through never saw them live but their lyrics are so beautiful and fuck all these haters. best band ever
Metalcore are bands like The Devil Wears Prada, As Blood Runs Black, August Burns Red, etc. This is Melodic Harcore, or you can call it Hardcore. It doesn't matter to me. But I've listened to these guys for about 3 years, and these dudes will always have the most influence in my life than any other band.
@lobster272 Thanks!! i checked out their site and they have some what of the same drum kit as the drummer here but its a solid orange instead of a see through one.
@TtotheRob13 Yea man I'm from Ottawa Ontario. Counterparts hometown is a few hours from me. My band was supposed to play with them a while ago but we had to drop. Seen them live though and theyre phenomenal. Can't wait for a new CD from them.
It's better that they're underrated so people who really dig melodic hardcore can enjoy their music before it hits mainstream media, you know people who enjoy good music don't want their tunes be ruined by mainstream listeners aka hipsters.
+1 for the Shai Hulud shirt! Still a bit puzzled with the current trend of bands playing in forests though. I mean where do they plug in their amps? It just doesn't make any sense!
Melodic hardcore at it's finest. The emotion found in this genre towers over that of any other. If you like It Prevails, check out Counterparts. Another great melodic harcore band.
@lobster272 Yea, pretty much what I said in a roundabout way. I got my information from a current band member a while back. Anyway, It Prevails is amazing, saw them live twice this week !
This band deserves so much more cread than they ever got
Damn right sir, damn right
Shocking that they never "made it". Disgrace man. Even me in loley South Africa have followed them for the last 15 years or so.
They talk about luck in the industry, but this surpasses it on so many levels.

110% agree... I still jam every It Prevails album religiously to this day
No, the best band on Riserecords is undoubtedly Thousand Below
U are so right dude. So true. It Prevails best band ever.
Mainly because it's not just one same thing in every songs like example I love the transition from screaming to singing like in defenses down but people just like ppl like lil pump these days😂 lmao
Yea definitely one of those underrated bands
This band has some of the most hard-hitting yet inspiring lyrics in melodic hardcore to this day.
Hits even harder when you find out he was in a bad place throughout all of it... That's coming from me, who was in a bad place in life throughout all of It Prevails and loved all their lyrics the same, only to find out this guy is now sober with the release of their latest EP 👍
listening to this band 7 years ago saved me.
This band saved my life and at least one of my friends through depression
It Prevails paved the way for all modern melodic hardcore and always did it better. such meaningful, heartfelt guitar, and lyrics that still makes me smirk looking back at the 21 year old I used to be...

They didn't cover blank space you fucktard.
cory mathson If not, a band with the exact same name did, jackass. Excuse me if I'm new to this band. They play the same kind of music and have been around for quite some time. I figured they just had a new look, like any band that's been around for eleven years.
xxhardforcorexx I, Prevail did the blank space cover, It Prevails is a completely different band.
Went back listening to this after 11 years .... still goosebumps
Still blasting in 2021 and into 2022 and beyond
Can we be friends?
Honestly who could dislike It Prevails and what they stand for? There is PURE emotion in every song. Their lyrics talk about real life hardships and struggles, they help you stay positive and give you a whole knew look on life. This is true melodic metalcore!
It Prevails, Liferuiner and Heart In Hand. Nothing more to me guys!
Still hits the soul years later. Classic album . Great fucking song !
Ah junior year of high school back in '11. Good times
the best sound of any metal band, i love how unique it prevails is.
holy sht... guys pls come back as this band, unique, melodic, metal/hardcore i can't think of no band that does it like u done back in the days..
Misery signals and Shai hulud
To those wondering if they are new to Rise. The answer is no, they used to be on Rise. We filmed this video in October 2010 but the song was released in 2007 on Rise. - Justin (The Director)
Walking to high school my junior year of high school 07-08 getting through trails and tribulations with this song. Still come back
so much emotion man...this song got me through some shit.....amazing band amazing lyrics touch me every time bros
@Redtractor22 Well I am a Christian haha so it all makes sense. It's not a subject to be overused, when you are a Christian and it's the most important thing in you're life, it's what you make music about.
This song pushed me up to stand on my feet countless times and it still makes me feel invisible
EVEN THOUGH I SHALL FALL, I WILL ALWAYS STAND UP
Got so much love for Ian Phyke's lyrics. Inspirational!
I played with these guys along with Counterparts and Volumes. Definetly one of the greatest days of my life sharing the stage with these guys and seeing them live.
Is the bassist bare footed? What a beast
These guys are soooo good, easily one of the pioneers in the melodic hardcore genre
Crazy how little views this song and this band have in general. So awesome
Ian just amazes me. That part right around like 3:02 when the drummer is going crazy on the pedal and Ian drops the last "I am an anomaly!" takes my breath every time.
I miss you guy's! Haven't seen them since they were based in Portland.
this continues and will remain to be my all time favorite song. and the fact that i basically know Ian and Chris makes me get exactly what they are feeling
Sooooo much emotion in this song, I freaking love it!!
I type in it’s prevails reaction and nothing comes up I guess this was written when the galaxy was created !
I've loved this band for so long. happy to see them getting some attention.
I love this band so much. Biggest influence musically.
I did a guitar cover of this song on my channel, because this song means so much to me.
Grew up with these guys as a local band.
Wish I could go back to the mid oughts and figure out how to bottle up what made it so special.
Because it doesnt exist now.
way too cool🔥泣きすぎてもう🔥イップレは初期から聞いてましたがキラーチューンで最高のMVですわ🔥
Incredible🔥Thank you from the bottom of my heart🙏💪💯
Still in my heart, you guys are the best!
My favourite band ever.. I think im not the only one..
Such passion in every note and lyric. I love this band.
@sacredxpain Not at all. Ian the lead singer is a very vocal atheist and it permeates through the lyrics that he writes.

@M80s4LIFE GODDAMNIT! You see them twice in one week and I never see them at all?
For real? Ian is one of the best vocalists alive. This came out in '07 and he's only got greater since this! [:
Nothing short of amazing.
soooo goood! Still got my singed CD from back in the day! 👍
One of the songs that helped me power through sobriety….8 years, bitches.
my boy was rocking out to them when they came to El Paso TX....
So what other songs do they have that have this similar sound cause I have been listening to this almost none stop. Such a banger 🔥🔥🔥
Oh God! Tk u guys for this.. It makes my day better when I watch this clip
Congratz to It Prevails for the deep song and to the director for the perfect photography!!
Know that your song can reach far away! (A fan from Brazil)
one of the greatest bands of all times, best melodic hardcore band listened to this band all the way through never saw them live but their lyrics are so beautiful and fuck all these haters. best band ever
+Jordan Potosky Dude I love them, they dont get old -- been listening for years
Ian sings with his heart...Awesome!
Metalcore are bands like The Devil Wears Prada, As Blood Runs Black, August Burns Red, etc. This is Melodic Harcore, or you can call it Hardcore. It doesn't matter to me. But I've listened to these guys for about 3 years, and these dudes will always have the most influence in my life than any other band.
amazing , just amazing
This band are up there with few saving hardcore, the lead singers voice is incredible
Now all we need is a video for "Thirst For A Better End"
I love so much this band!
will always be my fav band
@skylitbullet they were only on rise for one year and no one could change these guys theyre amazing!
Best band to ever be signed by Rise. I'm glad Rise took them off so they could be on a decent label like Mediaskare.
I love you guys
Absolute legends
@lobster272 Thanks!! i checked out their site and they have some what of the same drum kit as the drummer here but its a solid orange instead of a see through one.
Super Beautiful
so much emotion. i love it
If you guys like this band you should check out Counterparts. They are another melodic hardcore band. My personal favorite song is Tragedy
Fire Skorpion Tragedy Will Find Us is a masterpiece dude.
William Hamill i agree :)
agree. I love them both.
Best voice ever
I'm so glad they're off Rise, so they don't have to be bunched or even compared to all the horrible bands on their roster. This is REAL hardcore.
@TtotheRob13 Yea man I'm from Ottawa Ontario. Counterparts hometown is a few hours from me. My band was supposed to play with them a while ago but we had to drop. Seen them live though and theyre phenomenal. Can't wait for a new CD from them.
@riserecords Good for you!!
if any wants to know Chris's guitar its a G&L ASAT Tele with P90's just if any on is curious.
It Prevails
It's better that they're underrated so people who really dig melodic hardcore can enjoy their music before it hits mainstream media, you know people who enjoy good music don't want their tunes be ruined by mainstream listeners aka hipsters.
It makes me so sad that they are finally done. It also makes me sad that I'll never be able to see them live. All the good bands are breaking up! :(
This song kicks ass way better then this shitty wack ass hip hop
so they just realeased an album:D
4 years later new album.. just wanted to listen again before they drop the new ones
Loving the lyrics and message; great "pick me up" song!
+1 for the Shai Hulud shirt!
Still a bit puzzled with the current trend of bands playing in forests though. I mean where do they plug in their amps? It just doesn't make any sense!
Shoutout 2024. Better everyday. Salute.
Love this whole song with a passion but 2:17-3:40 could loop in my head for the rest of my life and I’d be completely okay with it.
Damn some of the guitar sounds like As Cities Burn which is saying a lot!
Badass!
Gee whizz! This is a throwback.
@Urbanspaceninja This song is 4 years old. They've always been great.
this band was from when i was 14 or 15 man
best shit still is from like 07 or 08
wow! rise record do have good bands... I mean a few ones...
@lobster272 pls do some more namedrops, these bands are all mad!
Melodic hardcore at it's finest. The emotion found in this genre towers over that of any other. If you like It Prevails, check out Counterparts. Another great melodic harcore band.
SHITT WHERE HAVE THESE GUYS BEEN MY ENTIRE LIFE D:
@SailingTheSkyline No. This was their lineup on their fall 2010 tour.
You are very correct
@MikeEatsAirplanesXD more like "Desolate" by Hundredth sounds like this song. This song was recorded more than three years ago.
This didnt show in my sub "box". Way to go new UA-cam design!
In fact, they haven't been on Rise since 2007 when The Inspiration came out.
my favorite song
I'm now wondering where the band 'I Prevail' got their name from...
As I rise up I always fall to the ground...
We have to open our minds, open our hearts.
@lobster272 Yea, pretty much what I said in a roundabout way. I got my information from a current band member a while back. Anyway, It Prevails is amazing, saw them live twice this week !
it prevails forever like nirvana
@HardHouseMan1 They did a good job with Closure In Moscow and The Color Morale though. So we will see.
@mymomsapanda word, and I would also like TGI or Betrayal to be on it too but they're already on tours
@skylitbullet Heard the new album? I didn't think so :)
It Prevails stays amazing
omg best chores ever!!
