Great video, but I wouldn't have written off the Viper coil pack. Dodge used it on a few other vehicles that may have also been available in Australia. Biggest perk for me is how much easier it is to diagnose issues when you can actually check for spark.
The viper coil pack is a available because some people like it….I’m not a fan of it since you have plug wires now & a coil you have to track down if it ever fails so I’ve always preferred the long coil a little dielectric grease stays water tight for wheeling eventually everything goes bad so when it’s time to replace it you just have to pick what works for your application best….it’s not gonna gain you any power so it’s really just what you like
FYI I understand that the "Viper" coil is also used on numerous more pedestrian Mopar V6 applications, like the Jeep JK and Dodge/Chrysler/VW minivans and trucks, although you have to ignore the embossed cylinder numbers. As I understand it, the V10 Viper uses two coils, one from the V6, and one from a 4 cylinder. Referring to it as the "Viper" coil just makes it sound more exotic than it really is. Out of curiosity, where is the MSD coil rail manufactured?
What was the price difference from the RockAuto OEM rails? Also how do you search RockAuto other than items listed under your model and year? I know they have other parts but you need a part number to search.
So.....looking at one of these for my WJ. Any sort of impressions since having it installed? Like....any noticeable benefits (besides it being red, that is)?
I like your video but in my case understanding how to unlock the plug is very hard to understand because I can't see how it locks
Well this is a classic case of. MEN AT WORK. 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣💯💯💯❤️❤️
Installed it and now i get crank no start
It's better then OEM because it's red
correct!
@@DarrylSheather It looks awesome Dazza Well done and thanks for sharing
I just bought one and I have starting issues
Did you figure out what the problem was?

We didn't get Dodge here period.
@@DarrylSheather huge difference then!, Lol.

@@Jboost412 100% agree there are no performance gains to be had from the viper coil mod. I just like how much easier it is to test for spark.
I watched the video because I thought i was watching Chip Foose's australian brother.
If only I had his talent 😂
Ever use any BG products on your jeep? MOA or 44K cleaner/additives?
I skipped through the vid, so maybe I missed it, but why didn't you replace the plugs while you had the rail out?
plugs were already done.
Good job Daz, love the TJ maintenance vids. You may need to explain to OS what a 'good toilet read' is :)
lol, glad you enjoy the content :)
Shit to read while taking a dump lolz

It may have been used in the 3.8 JK not the 3.6 as they have individual coil packs.
Any long term reviews?
I should do that! No dramas with it however.
They definitely targeted me marketing wise by making it red
Me too!
What do you think about the ngk coil rail?
So far so good, it's a good quality replacement part.
15 months later, is this MSD Ignition Coil working like the factory mopar one?
No issues, still working like it should
Hii you know how connect a msd 6al to these jeeps ?
How often do your change your plugs?
The iridium tipped Autolite XP985 I'm using lasts for years.

Similar pricing for the NGK version. If you look in Quadratec or the like you can find part numbers of parts pretty quickly and search with those.
Did it improve your ride?
Not at all, but hopefully it will last for the 15 years that the OEM one did
Too easy

No, but I've never expected to. I do like the bling in the engine bay however.
