Thank you for teaching the recipe from the raw eel! Where I live we can’t find the pre-cooked eel that other youtubers show on their videos 😅 so I’m so happy to have found your recipe! My husband looooves any dish made from eel and this dish is a treat! I don’t have a grill like you do so I will try to do it on the airfryer 😂 Wish me luck~~~
just wanted to share: I was on vacation at Nagoya, Japan last week and i tried Unagi set meal a week ago at this resto named Tomida located at Osu Shotengai Shopping Street Nagoya, Japan. The soup & side dish/pickled veggie that accompanied the dish was perfect for the Unagi! thank you always for sharing your recipe ideas and keep up the good work Sudachi-san!
Thank you for sharing your experience! I was actually born and raised in the Nagoya area! Was it Hitsumabushi by any chance? It's a Nagoya way to eat grilled eel! (sudachirecipes.com/hitsumabushi/) Thank you for watching the video!
I just had this over a (albeit pretty Americanized) roll of sushi and the flavor was pretty mild and subtle. I imagine real Japanese kabayaki is more flavorful.
I love Unagi. Just found out it's on the endangered list. I will not eat anymore and spread the word. I was a big Unagi consumer. One of my favorite dishes. It's amazing how easy it is to say goodbye to consuming this endangered species. Maybe if we all do out part, one day these tasty morsels can thrive again and we can eat them again. I respect this creature that has tasted so good and has nourished me throughout my life. I hope it makes a come back. Thanks social media for informing me. I'll pay it forward and due my due diligence to not be a part of the problem of making an animal go extinct. American's consume 90% of the eel population. I believe in Americans to ultimately do the right thing. We are a leading nation and should set the bar on how to act responsible. God bless America and the eels we used to eat.
My grill doesn't have temperature setting and I've never done it in the oven, so I cannot say for sure, but I think 220 C (430 F) is a good place to start.

@@SudachiRecipes yes it was like Hitsumabushi. Though the one was cut-up into 3 bigger pieces!

Why was this in stop motion
Hm...can i replace eel by another fillet fish like tilapia? 😂 it isnt to find eel in my area though
Yes, as long as it's filleted, you can! Some other popular options are conger eel and catfish!
@@SudachiRecipes the eel sauce is the bomb! Can I store it in the fridge ?
What is the temperature for grilling the Unagi in the oven? Temperature for Celsius and Temperature for Fahrenheit. Thank you 🙏
