So your opponent must block or they get blown up Most moves are a frame trap on hit that's why you usually don't attack after getting hit. Only a few moves are a frame trap on block, you gotta research it but every character has it.
I just wanted to mention, I saw it in Churara's "how to play against Elphelt" video, that the 1frame gap on "up high" is only possible if you block LOW on chain lollipop. if you are blocking standing the overhead is gapless. I tested it myself as well and found that this is the case. Thank's for the video, I've been enjoying your Baiken a lot also!
Command grab super is useful when opponent has been conditioned to low block after entering rekka. Rekka (blocked) > command super > fS > 5H > 214K > whatever follow ups for emotional damage
U can also do 2K > 214H to crossup the bomb (they can surely dp or AA tho, I have yet to test thoroughly) and then you have a high/low (jS or 2K) left/right (after the bomb you're on the other side, air shoot crosses back again or just back dash and j.k) mixup
Actually if your opponent just even block your cS without FD and stays still anticipating fS or 5H or 2H, you can do Bombniere on cS recovery. On the spot. You won't even need to microdash.
@@PinePizzaas a Pot main. She has my respect. You can Kara her command grab and she likes to Oki me from the air so she eats a lot of my wakeup HPBs. She also dies to Heat Tackle a lot.
Her Bomb super is fun to play around with. Especially if you land a wild assault on a grounded opponent it will actually catch the opponent. As for options after landing it. That is the one thing I am trying to figure out. HS to HS works then it explodes. I think you can get a 2HS after landing the grab.
Marionette was an amazing theme but you'd die too fast to hear the best part. Extras is on a whole new level of amazing this shit is fire and is the best theme in Strive.
I could hear the teeth grinding when the grenade section started lmao. Thanks for the video though, I picked the game back up when she dropped and it's good to know what works while relearning the game.
Idk if this is common knowledge or not (i don't see anyone, dustloop included, mentioning this), but since each rekka followup is technically a special, inputting the dmg super (632146H) will automatically kara cancel into it if you're already in the rekka
re: "ESports Sol" - the worst part about this patch is having to listen to Sol players talk about how he's useless for the 16th time since this game launched...
You mention that c.S->5H can always be 6P'd, but when I tested this against a sol set to 6P/DP on block, nothing comes out until after 5H. It's airtight as long as you don't add any delay when cancelling, so c.S->5H works as a way of getting into rekka, though FD on both hits will make rekka whiff.
I like the fact that someone is finally acknowledging that Guessing Games do exist. Many try to sugarcoat guessing games and claim it is about "reading" or "reacting" calling it "mixups". The truth is that most of the guessing games are not readable because even the players may not know what they themselves are going to press next sometimes.
Yeah this is a big issue with fighting games in general, not sure how you solve it. Like how do you solve this type of RPS pressure as a game designer without making a character really slow or really unsafe? Saying that, I think this is a unique issue with this character and how easy it is to execute. If the barrier to this "mix" was a bit higher it wouldn’t be so bad imo.
@@cameronrramos It wouldn’t be so bad if the situation was really RPS, but the thing with Strive is that it is more of a RP without S. A real RPS should give you an outcome of Win, Lose and Draw. For Strive, the outcomes are mainly only Lose or Draw for the defending side most of the time. It’s more like mainly “Guess correct = go back to neutral, Guess wrong = big damage AND you have to guess again until you guess right”. In other words, the risk-reward is generally unbalanced. The offensive side generally takes a lot less of a risk if the opponent guesses correctly.
It’s mostly an issue once people get into close range which I guess is where the mix word comes into play. This is generally fine I think because the neutral is genuinely fun and requires a bit of thinking but yeah, blocking in strive is pretty suffocating and this character specifically highlights all the issues with it from a player / fun perspective. If the pressure doesn’t feel (and is, lets be real) as cheap as it does here it wouldnt be so bad @@raywing00
@@cameronrramos To be fair she is not the only character with this kind of guessing pressure. Millie, Ino, Leo, Anji, Sin, Chipp etc all have similar instant overhead guessing games. Personally I don’t find her any more or less “cheaper” than the other characters. I think balancing has to be worked in the area to equalize, or at least heighten, the risk on the offensive side, or tone down the rewards, instead of snowballing it. An RPS can only be RPS only if it is fair for both sides. Otherwise it wouldn’t be an RPS.
Great guide. Question: my friend and I were trying to land the timing from jH to cS, but we found we couldn’t do it unless we mashed it out. I think that method’s inconsistent because cS could turn into fS (which makes the combo drop), so is there a timing between or before jH that I need to be aware of in order to land cS correctly?
I'm so glad she's 'easy', picking up new characters is a nightmare for me and I'm already having fun with her after just sitting in training mode and not learning any combos. As a ratty zoner player, I'm sure she's not the BEST fit... but I like being weird

I never got around to uploading my mods of adding all the Sonic Characters - Nago as big the cat cause katana = fishing rod and he's big - chipp as Miles Tails Prower cause spin and rope tails - Axl as (knock knock it's) Knuckles cause his weapons remind me of knuckles hands that are sharp and dig into you. He also has long hair. - Ram as rouge cause float and bats - giovanna as Cream and Cheese (for the partner Wolf) - glodlewis as Eggman (obviously. Machine and big) - shadow I already made with the Ky Sonic Mod pack I could go on but the point is is that I should probably finish them and upload it on gamebanana

From mid-screen F.s,5h,214k,6h,214h,j.h,6h Against the corner I didn’t find much yet, so it’s just better to side switch and get corner F.s,5h,214k,dash,C.s,2s,2h,214k I’ve used this move 2-5 times today over 40+ Matches. Not to say it’s bad, it’s just too early people are just getting hit by the rekkas so you don’t really need it.

Edit: im a bit wrong, just have fun and work it out tho ❤ Punch into slashes Kick into 2D (sweep) Then command normals the forward input like 6p Then specials. I'm a Tekken player but this logic has worked for me, punch to punch, kick to kick

You just punch the rekka that comes after the low or overhead one. Before that it's a short guessing game but you can avoid some damage if you see through the pattern quickly. Sometimes easier with perfect block but not necessary. Aside from that, deflect shield is your friend and jumping out before it even starts is too.
6P also happens to be reminiscent of sgP, even if only in animation. same for most of her normals; 2K, 2S, 2H, 5H, and 5D Held. also Nailed It! is sgH. ngl, kinda think Shotgun would have been easier to deal with as Nago though; I've had a really hard time finding safe tools against it except for a lucky 2K/2S (you still trade the hit for the most part though) or 5/2P spam if El starts it from point blank.
I picked her up just yesterday but I have massive issues with taking back my turn, especially against other hyper aggressive characters like Gio. Is there anything I can reliably use when I'm getting pressured? Right now it feels like I either have burst or die which usually leads to me losing quite badly.

She has everything except when she's in the corner. That's why she's so fun, she can be played in manys ways. I've played against the most campy and most monke Elphelts. And her normal attacks are just way too good. A rushdown with massive hitboxes, great projectiles, and the best rekka mix of all time? Strive is unbalanced as hell lol
Bro said best rekka mix when you can just 6P her if she uses certain normals into the flip. If they cs 5hs you can 6p between, if they go into lolipop you 5p If they cs / 2H into lolipop or chocolatte its a free 6p. She can only safely go into lolipop off 5hs or 6hs but 6HS even after cs is dumb slow, free 6p. You dont have to deal with her mix because her ability to start it sucks. Her grab game into grenade oki on the other hand is legit strong.

Bruh her offense is extremely fk up. Skill issue if your complaint is a characters low defense if she has extremely good offense. Fighting games aren't for you tbh

If you're talking about just after the bomb hits, most of the times you can just not use j.H and go directly to c.S
After bomb hit I usually just j.S -> c.S -> 2s -> rekka

Delay it a little bit and it will come out
You need to wait until you recover from the rekka starter/reset, otherwise you'll get the rekka version

Shotgun is an ender (assuming without meter), just block it and go back to neutral.

Playing a few matches against her, immediately getting annoyed and not having much fun playing against her tbh.
