в россии большая часть тротуаров и дорог в принципе непригодна для такой уборки из-за заборов, столбов и еще кучи непонятной хрени, которая просто не дает возможности проехать снегоуборочной технике.
я удился, когда они второй раз начали чистить асфальт. наши после первого раза насыпали бы тонну песка с солью и збс. грязь, слякоть вот это по нашему.

@Luke McMahon Depends on the city, but there's usually large lots of city or municipality owned land that is designated for snow dumping in the winter.
To be fair, it isn't the "right cars", these are the cars park on the next streets they are about to remove the snow, so instead of putting them in an impound lot, they put them in a nearby, freshly removed, street with a juicy ticket, and then they can go back take other cars blocking the next streets

The city still gets it money for towing, and the citizens don't have to shovel out their cars and put the snow back on the street that was just cleared. They have this down to an art. But musical cars....each morning you have to check a couple of streets.

Living on Vancouver Island, we don’t get a high amount of snow compared to other places but still enough for snowploughs… I would rather see any type of budget go towards that and other stuff that benefits the working class

The most impressive thing about this entire video was the fact that not only did they tow cars away so they could do the street completely, but they actually brought the cars back and put them as close as possible to where they took them from. The city that I live in will tow the cars. Then you have to find out which company towed them. The city doesn't keep track and they use 5-10 different companies, so it requires several phone calls. Then you have to go and pay the towing fee and storage fee before you get your car back. Then you have to go to the city and pay the fine that they put on your car. I was recovering from a heart attack the last time the city did this to me. It cost me $185 towing. $50 storage and $145 fine from the city. $380 total.

This is how to clear a road, even when there repacked cars on one side of the road. Thiswas very well organise with all the right equipment and drivers. Great job guys.
I seen that and it blow my mind. Where I live and work in NJ if you park on the side of the road that is the street sweeping day you get a ticket and your car gets towed. And that when there is no snow.
It is immensely satisfying to see how far they go to get every flake they can, but this must cost a tremendous amount of money burning all that desil. It seemed more than good enough after the already pretty extensive first pass.
if you dont get right down to the road then as soon as the sun gets on it it will turn into a sheet of ice and they will be spending even more time and resources trying to fight that

I remember when they didn't truck it away, the snow blower would pile it on the front yards. Fun times when we were kids. Don't live there anymore but Montreal are masters at this game.
That's how they did it in the West Island. I lived in Pointe Claire, and the blown piles on the lawn would sometimes last until late-April! The day after the snowblower came through was the perfect time to build a fort in those piles!
this city, the way it works together is beautiful. LIke that guy came out to move his car, even shovel it out, so the plow game can do their thing. i wish my city could be so organized and work together like this.
I'm from WV, USA. We get snow all the time, but I have to say that one vehicle that was sucking up all the snow and spitting it into the semi trailer... I've never seen anything like that before. Amazing invention

They do all that and more here in Fargo ,plows in the front then the graters to scrape and then followed by anti ice trucks and sand ,as far a residential streets go they plow every road multiple times a day .we have a big fleet though bc we need it done so often
Hi ! I was a truck driver for 35 years mostly hiway coast to coast in Canada ! but in those 35 years i did exactly that for Montreal east part ! I was working for Excavation Anjou and we were removing snow on hiway 40 and when that was over i would have a short nap and start working for town of Montreal ! still for excavation Anjou ! that was alot of hours !🤠then i went to work out west in the Canadian Rockies for 10 years covering Alberta and BC. and Yukon and NWT. ( yellowknife ).
Thats brilliant, at least 5 different machines and all those trucks. Here in Scotland we get gritters with a blade on the front. They lay the grit to keep the roads "clear" Usually after the snow has fallen 🤣🤣 They only use the blades when its really bad, but the snow is just left to melt. Thawing and refreezing until its gone. As for the paths, a wee bit of grit threw by some guy at random from the back of a flatbed van.
I hate people parking their car on the wrong side during snow plowing. Tow their car and give them a $600 parking ticket and they’ll never do it again.
In Quebec winter tires are mandatory from Dec 1 to mid March, they get way more snow than Ontario does. Winter is pretty tough in Quebec, NY state, and neighbouring areas all the too the Atlantic Coast. Happy New Year and all best in 2023

I just read that the city of Montreal has to tow over 50 000 cars every winter for snow removal operations, boggles the mind a little. That certainly spreads some money around.
Sleeping through noisy winter nights is a Montreal superpower. The Cuty gets so much snow, and is so old and dense by North American standards that this seemingly over the top removal operation is absolutely necessary.
To the people that park on the streets during the snow emergencies, hope you’re proud of yourselves. Not only did you waste snow plows time but you’re now stuck in the snow, and or ticketed and towed.
Some northern cities like Fargo North Dakota have big operations, or cities where there tends to be alot of snow in the winter truck away the snow to a dump site

@@grifon80 я с Урала, Пермский Край. Не сказать, что у нас прямо снежные зимы, но бывает, что сыпет и сыпет. В том году например, зима дала жару. Я сам тракторист, сам всю зиму херачу. Не скажу, что прям все плохо, но уровень нашей уборки снега, хромает в десятки раз. Поначалу все вроде норм, а потом, ближе к февралю, становится все тяжелей, подобной техники у нас мало, снег толком не вы возится, а складируется на бедных газона, и потом эти кучи по весне начинают обильно таять, снося весь чернозем и песок на дороги, при этом напрочь забивая ливневую канализацию. Да и техника у нас допотопная, мтзушки, да камазики, частники, имеющие в своих автопарках импортную технику, не спешат работать с муниципалами, из-за низкой оплаты, хотя я уверен, при хорошем раскладе, они придут и вылижут весь город до асфальта, но все упирается в финансирование, а точнее в недофинансировании в этой области, ну или разваровывание средств. Но надо отдать должное людям, которые учавствую в работе, они выжимают из себя все, что могут. Региональные и федеральные трассы правда чистят хорошо, но их и гораздо проще чистить, нежели городские улицы.
И слава богу, туда сюда снег погоняли, 5 видов техники применили. Какой от этого практический эффект? Бояре кареты свои могут припарковать? Боярам бы лопаты в руки для своих карет... И все на народные деньги. Это не очень хороший способ, ливневки и проезжие части у них грамотные, а вот это какой то попил денег или "борьба" с безработицей. ИМХО, всем кто думает иначе - ваше право, но мне свои взгляды не присылайте. Изложите под комментом Владимира.

The whole removal process is impressive. I was really surprised when the tow trucks started coming back and parking cars.

Residential streets in Edmonton get a single pass with a grader generally.

I just read that the city of Montreal has to tow over 50 000 cars every winter for snow removal operations, boggles the mind a little. That certainly spreads some money around.
Revenue stream to offset the plowing costs!
If your car gets towed, the city will issue a hefty fine. Try not to pay it and they will suspend your registration and licence ;)

Sleeping through noisy winter nights is a Montreal superpower. The Cuty gets so much snow, and is so old and dense by North American standards that this seemingly over the top removal operation is absolutely necessary.

To the people that park on the streets during the snow emergencies, hope you’re proud of yourselves. Not only did you waste snow plows time but you’re now stuck in the snow, and or ticketed and towed.
If only towns/city’s in the U.S had snow removal like this
mine started doing this about 10 years ago, just not as organized as this. they still don't have it down-
Some northern cities like Fargo North Dakota have big operations, or cities where there tends to be alot of snow in the winter truck away the snow to a dump site
This would never happen in Scotland.our councils don’t even grit our streets
@@owen4902 correct on that, we have serious operations going on here actually last storm shut down are interstates, People don't realize when you can see as far as the eye can see and the land is flat you get some drifts get gigantic

Thanks for posting this video. It is fascinating how much work they put into snow removal. They don't do that much work in Vancouver area. Ha!
You guys must have some super tough asphalt up there to stand up to that much heavy equipment plowing and grading as often as it does with the amount of snow you get.
It's ok at the very best. But at this time of year the road are frozen up/stiff enough to hold up to the equipment.

Не знаю из какой вы части России но на мой взгляд на Дальнем Востоке справляются нормально. Конечно есть задержки в три, четыре дня но это норм. В этом видео поразило лишь только то что легковые машины увозят а потом обратно ставят. А так всë тоже самое
@@grifon80 я с Урала, Пермский Край. Не сказать, что у нас прямо снежные зимы, но бывает, что сыпет и сыпет. В том году например, зима дала жару. Я сам тракторист, сам всю зиму херачу. Не скажу, что прям все плохо, но уровень нашей уборки снега, хромает в десятки раз. Поначалу все вроде норм, а потом, ближе к февралю, становится все тяжелей, подобной техники у нас мало, снег толком не вы возится, а складируется на бедных газона, и потом эти кучи по весне начинают обильно таять, снося весь чернозем и песок на дороги, при этом напрочь забивая ливневую канализацию. Да и техника у нас допотопная, мтзушки, да камазики, частники, имеющие в своих автопарках импортную технику, не спешат работать с муниципалами, из-за низкой оплаты, хотя я уверен, при хорошем раскладе, они придут и вылижут весь город до асфальта, но все упирается в финансирование, а точнее в недофинансировании в этой области, ну или разваровывание средств. Но надо отдать должное людям, которые учавствую в работе, они выжимают из себя все, что могут. Региональные и федеральные трассы правда чистят хорошо, но их и гораздо проще чистить, нежели городские улицы.
И слава богу, туда сюда снег погоняли, 5 видов техники применили. Какой от этого практический эффект? Бояре кареты свои могут припарковать? Боярам бы лопаты в руки для своих карет... И все на народные деньги. Это не очень хороший способ, ливневки и проезжие части у них грамотные, а вот это какой то попил денег или "борьба" с безработицей. ИМХО, всем кто думает иначе - ваше право, но мне свои взгляды не присылайте. Изложите под комментом Владимира.
@@grifon80 Действительно поражает. Эти же долбни знают, что будет уборка этой стороны улицы. Более того им ещё приходят экстенные сообщения на телефон от городских властей с напоминаем и просьбой убрать машины... Похер. По идее эти козлы потом сами должны ̶ ̶̶̶ ̶̶̶п̶̶̶и̶̶̶з̶̶̶д̶̶̶о̶̶̶в̶̶̶а̶̶̶т̶̶̶ь̶̶̶ ̶̶̶н̶̶̶а̶̶̶ ̶̶̶л̶̶̶ы̶̶̶ж̶̶̶а̶̶̶х̶̶̶ ̶ ̶и̶ ̶с̶а̶н̶к̶а̶х̶ забирать на штрафплощадках свои машины. А тут, блин, на тебе, сервис такой. Надеюсь, что хотя бы штрафы они получат за неправильную парковку.

no, wee need people that pay attention to notices and move thier car before the plow gets there, not make them wait

Wow ! This is Absolutely incredible! I always knew my Neighbors to the North know what real snow removal looks like! But man! This is to a whole other level! This is the way it should be done in the states in northern cities where a lot of snow does occur! I gotta ask? Where do these huge trucks full of fresh pack go to dump? Just curious! Seems like such a large operation, if anyone whom knows could shed light on this that would be Great! 😂
Dump in rivers or fields
Usually the city has designated dump sites (industrial lots type thing). It all melts of course in late spring.
They also dump snow in the unused land alongside highway off-ramps, and in land between highway lanes going in different directions, etc.
They used to dump in the river, but not anymore. There are designated snow dump sites in the city of Montreal
