  • Since starting the Dream Build series on my UA-cam channel over two years ago I've been fortunate to feature numerous special bikes but for this one I wanted to create something unique and totally different from anything else.
I'd seen the incredible designs and painted helmets/bikes which Image Design Custom has worked on over the last few years for a variety of special projects and I knew those guys were the people for the job.
    / @imagedesigncustom
Taking inspiration from the Porsche 917 hypercar concept I worked with Image Design Custom to create a completely 1 of 1 design for the 2020 Santa Cruz Bronson based around four main colours. Incorporating the highly recognisable ‘boxxer red' Rockshox Lyrik Ultimate forks into the overall bike design whilst also featuring flowing chrome pinstripes and logos to compliment the chrome decals on the forks.
The bike is specified with a variety of components which were all individually chosen for both their performance characteristics and to match the colour scheme of the frame design in order to create a bike which is just as stunning to look at as it is to ride.
Invisiframe provides essential frame protection to this stunning and unique paint design to keep things looking fresh for many years to come. Stealth black Truvative Descendent cranks, bars and stem provided the main contact points for the bike paired with equally subtle Sram XX1 gearing for faultless and precision shifting. Zipp 3zero Moto rims laced with bladed spokes onto Industry 9 red anodised hydra hubs created a enduro wheelset worthy of the Dream Build title when paired with Pirelli Scorpion front and rear specific tyres.
A Rockshox Super Deluxe RCT rear shock and Rockshox Lyrik ultimate forks alongside a Rockshox Reverb 150mm dropper post make up the suspension and Sram G2 ultimate brakes with rainbow titanium bolts provide ample stopping power in a lightweight and visually striking package.
Finishing details are what make a bike into a true Dream Build, I worked with Acros to create a custom Dream Build top cap to compliment their headset. Silver Muc-Off tubeless valves mirror the chrome found elsewhere on the bike. A Fabric scoop saddle with carbon rails and a red underside continues the red theme and finishes off what is the most unique Dream Build I’ve ever created.
I'd like to thank the following companies for their involvement in the project!

The paintjob is perfectly executed but the valve hole positioning on the rear wheel ruins the otherwise perfect build a bit (26:22).

    • @frankthetankricard
      @frankthetankricard 4 роки тому +8

I have mixed feelings about the paint job. Apart from not sanding to the bare frame... it's well executed and ugly. My problem is with the design only. Looks very generic and boring. Most likely due to customer request, couldn't fault the painter for it. The same goes for not matching the shade of red to the other components on the bike. But yeah it looks like the painter did a great job.

This thing is fantastic. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx1McjgiqTNcTjrhvRvJWcrk5bzTeQW-Wn Easy to store in a bag in "screwdriver" position, not heavy but well built, and the location of the button makes it easy to screw or unscrew with one hand in either "gun" or "screwdriver" position. My only real complaint is there isn't a clip anywhere to store another bit, and the bit isn't a combo dual-ended bit either, so the flathead and P1/P0 philips bits we have to carry around invariably get misplaced.Note: Apparently Black + Decker changed this same Li2000 model from "Type 2" to "Type 3". This new "Type 3" appears to be slightly lighter, and the charging plug is now larger, with a little metal piece to keep it snug. I never noticed the "Type 2" version charger plug to not be perfectly snug, so not sure why this change was made - it does make it annoying that our shop now has 8 of these, and the new 3 have different charging plugs :/

Not a problem....all I really did was mount the front wheel, the handle bars, adjust the chain a little, and the seat, and add a water bottle, .....it even came with the tires properly inflated.... Custum paint shops with spraying not painting can start at few hundred so its nit that expensice. Alone the frame costs 2000-3000 so its way less expensive

Just curious, wher do u liv?
      I think it varios
      City, State...
I think in States like China u get it for way less but quality can suck.
In ares like europe northamerica south africa u still need to pay for jobs like this over 500 or do it yourself.

I would go for an aggressive modern long travel hardtail. It will keep up with the Bronson in most situations and absolutely slaughter it when it comes to tracks that offer good places to pump, and anywhere where that you need to pedal especially up hills. And it will be far easier on the wallet !!
