DREAM BUILD MTB - Santa Cruz Bronson

- Опубліковано 23 сер 2024
- Since starting the Dream Build series on my UA-cam channel over two years ago I've been fortunate to feature numerous special bikes but for this one I wanted to create something unique and totally different from anything else.
I'd seen the incredible designs and painted helmets/bikes which Image Design Custom has worked on over the last few years for a variety of special projects and I knew those guys were the people for the job.
/ @imagedesigncustom
Taking inspiration from the Porsche 917 hypercar concept I worked with Image Design Custom to create a completely 1 of 1 design for the 2020 Santa Cruz Bronson based around four main colours. Incorporating the highly recognisable ‘boxxer red' Rockshox Lyrik Ultimate forks into the overall bike design whilst also featuring flowing chrome pinstripes and logos to compliment the chrome decals on the forks.
The bike is specified with a variety of components which were all individually chosen for both their performance characteristics and to match the colour scheme of the frame design in order to create a bike which is just as stunning to look at as it is to ride.
Invisiframe provides essential frame protection to this stunning and unique paint design to keep things looking fresh for many years to come. Stealth black Truvative Descendent cranks, bars and stem provided the main contact points for the bike paired with equally subtle Sram XX1 gearing for faultless and precision shifting. Zipp 3zero Moto rims laced with bladed spokes onto Industry 9 red anodised hydra hubs created a enduro wheelset worthy of the Dream Build title when paired with Pirelli Scorpion front and rear specific tyres.
A Rockshox Super Deluxe RCT rear shock and Rockshox Lyrik ultimate forks alongside a Rockshox Reverb 150mm dropper post make up the suspension and Sram G2 ultimate brakes with rainbow titanium bolts provide ample stopping power in a lightweight and visually striking package.
Finishing details are what make a bike into a true Dream Build, I worked with Acros to create a custom Dream Build top cap to compliment their headset. Silver Muc-Off tubeless valves mirror the chrome found elsewhere on the bike. A Fabric scoop saddle with carbon rails and a red underside continues the red theme and finishes off what is the most unique Dream Build I’ve ever created.
I'd like to thank the following companies for their involvement in the project!

Todo esta en ingles 😢 no entiendo
This guy definitely has zero air bubbles in his screen protector for his phone
Probably doesn’t even have a screen protector just clearcoated his sreen

The craftsmanship that went into painting the frame is something else and it is truly beautiful. That bike is absolutely stunning.
We had a lot of fun painting it!
Thanks AJ, I hope I did those guys at ID custom justice because the paint job is insane
The paintjob is perfectly executed but the valve hole positioning on the rear wheel ruins the otherwise perfect build a bit (26:22).
I have mixed feelings about the paint job. Apart from not sanding to the bare frame... it's well executed and ugly. My problem is with the design only. Looks very generic and boring. Most likely due to customer request, couldn't fault the painter for it. The same goes for not matching the shade of red to the other components on the bike. But yeah it looks like the painter did a great job.
Image Design Custom the work that went into that how much would this cost to do
I think this is the longest UA-cam video I’ve ever watched all the way through, no skips
That's some strategic video-audiography there
This thing is fantastic. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx1McjgiqTNcTjrhvRvJWcrk5bzTeQW-Wn Easy to store in a bag in "screwdriver" position, not heavy but well built, and the location of the button makes it easy to screw or unscrew with one hand in either "gun" or "screwdriver" position. My only real complaint is there isn't a clip anywhere to store another bit, and the bit isn't a combo dual-ended bit either, so the flathead and P1/P0 philips bits we have to carry around invariably get misplaced.Note: Apparently Black + Decker changed this same Li2000 model from "Type 2" to "Type 3". This new "Type 3" appears to be slightly lighter, and the charging plug is now larger, with a little metal piece to keep it snug. I never noticed the "Type 2" version charger plug to not be perfectly snug, so not sure why this change was made - it does make it annoying that our shop now has 8 of these, and the new 3 have different charging plugs :/
Just seeing a guy who has the right tool for every job feels really good😂
I know, I’m not even that into biking but that and this whole video was so satisfying.
Nah bro, Hammer, hacksaw and an adjustable wrench are all you need. I could have done this whole project with those three tools. Painting included!
Dude I did my fork with a screw driver to set the star nut, and piece of pvc to set the crown race and it works great. It would be nice having all the tools but most of them aren’t absolutely necessary
True, but watching a guy makes the wrong tool work for the wrong job is very enlightening.
@@gr33dyglutton No you can’t. Allen wrench and torx. I know because I had to buy some.
this is how i imagine a local bike shop would treat my bike, in a perfect world.
Proper bike shops do build bikes like this.
That's what I like about you, your sense of humour...
They do, if the bike cost some 50k.
People at bike shops, BIKE CO. are awful humans. And VERY RACIST.
Down in ( Pemberton BC, CAN ) beside (Whistler,BC) THE home of biking and CRANKWORKS, the OLYMPIC GAMES and a few of the richest humanS TO EVER BE alive And pro bikers Ect and people who love sniff n cash. But if your a nice young boy they brake your bike hold it for months then ask for 50$ while you’re bloody on the ground, just to let them hurt you and destroy you’re bike.
@@cheguevara4451 nope
Wow, I didn't know MTB build could be so zen! Extra props for the audio; no overwhelming upbeat music but just the sound of the tools, parts and mechanics in general used in the build!
These guys are like surgeons. I've been working in the sign industry for the past 10 years in NYC and I can estimate that the paint itself + graphics labor will go easily for $3.5K. Excellent work!
When I first saw him strip off the original colour I was about to burst into tears.....but I am stunned by the final product. Just beautiful. Such craftsmanship in that paint job. Simply stunning.
u guys know what is the most beautiful thing in this video? That this guys is quiet all video, the music isn't loud and u can hear sound when he's putting on everything, that's fucking amazing. Take care bro
Anyone else click on this video expecting to see a relaxing build video but instead have their mind blown by how skilled and talented the gentleman building the bike is?
can't say i'm a fan of the paint but can't fault the execution
Thanks for watching Richard, personal preference!
Absolutely. Thanks for another good video Gee. Cheers!
I think I preferred the blue teal at the start. Still respect the craftsmanship tho too
same here
Not a fan of the color scheme either, but much respect to the attention to detail
If that was my bike, I would never want to ride it... because it looks so perfect
Exactly what I thought!😂
Skipping round puddles, avoiding brambles, missing gravel runs incase of chipping. I hear you bro.
But....
Get out, Get dirty, get wet, get happy 😁
I'd ride it for bragging rights.
If u build ur dream bike always make a twin
I agree

This is the best video for me, no talk, just do his work, 32 minute but no boring at all, is so satisfied after watching this video. I like this guy so much.
Me: dam that frame looks nice
Him: keeps working on it
Me: I said it looks nice!
The precision is giving me goosebumps... He's a true legend. 🤔💭
When the guy says build, he really meant it. I didn't expect that he would build everything from scratch using just bare hands and some simple tools and the product would be so perfect, you'd thought it was built by machines. Wow! Jaw-dropping!
Me: Can't afford anything from the video except the tape
wait, you guys can afford the tape?
which tape? the rim tape is $50 a roll xD
on the other hand it's just a bike - if everybody drove Bugatti, we'd live in a boring world, wouldn't we?
haha nice comment
Hi
20:44 that slap really shocked me in that silence
The builds and filming just keep getting better and better...cheers Gee for the great work!
Thanks for watching Ade!
@@GeeMilner yeah i agree with that.
How much do you take for such a custom bike?
Ade Brown ua-cam.com/video/uXqXhTWS8_A/v-deo.html
this is the only 30-minute youtube video that I managed to fully watch without skipping.
if you put so much effort in painting a frame for a MTB - who would want to speed downhill with this piece of art?
any scratch would make me cry...
I've become addicted to bike build vids. I guess I need to start building my own.
From start to finish.... Amazing talent! I can remember what that felt like putting together a bike of my very own when I was 12 years old.
This is called "The PREMIUM First Class" work ever :)
When you think the paint job is done and he masks it all off again and makes it silver 😍
Epic to see this bike come together! Shout out to our painter Jack for a pretty flawless paint job on this one.
You guys should buy Jack a rotary X-Acto knife. It's life-changing for cutting detail curves.

ua-cam.com/video/QvR7JyTI6yU/v-deo.html
The skill of the guy painting the frame is absolutely incredible. its a work of art. That build is priceless, absolutely stunning.
It was easy to assemble ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L I have had bikes for many years but always bought from bike dealers who did all the work of assembly, fitting and balancing...due to the Covid 19 problems all my local bike dealers were closed or extremely busy with a long wait time...so I took a chance on this....so far so good......But the first time I took it out I did worry if it might fail completely in the middle of the road and fall apart due to any ineptitude on my putting it together. Not a problem....all I really did was mount the front wheel, the handle bars, adjust the chain a little, and the seat, and add a water bottle, .....it even came with the tires properly inflated.... I'm happy
The time and precision that went into painting that bike totally paid off
My dream build took me 4 months. This guy did it in 32 minutes!
Be Lieve ua-cam.com/video/uXqXhTWS8_A/v-deo.html
I just lost 32 minutes of my life watching this, and I don't want that time back!
This is pure art and is so relaxing. It beats some of those zen videos with nature scenes.
Sitting here enjoying a beer, minding my own business and this pops up in my feed! ??
What I just watched was 30+ minutes of patience, passion and skill. A bit of a rarity these days unfortunately. Absolutely loved it 👍👍
That paint job was unreal. So much time and dedication to getting the perfect finish. The build up was like art as well. Nice one
Started watching on my phone after 3 minutes I was like this is me to save this for the big screen TV. Phenomenal production 👍
Yes, like a movie
Simply a masterpiece. These films are so calming. Many try, but the quality can’t be replicated.
Seeing his hands movement, makes me calm and so relaxed and satisfying. Not to mention the awesome build of craftsmanship.
this feels thereapeutic. just seeing the pure skill and craftsmanship, wow! and the filmmaking too!
I could watch this all day, everyday... one of the best yet
Thanks Johnny, glad you enjoyed it!
Simplesmente , um dos melhores trabalhos que já foi feito, ficou linda .
The Art Of Precision its Like Visual Poetry, Beautiful Skills !.
Outstanding !
Watching this is like meditation. Thank you for sharing.
I can't believe I watched every second of this build
Я в шоке от такой крапотливой работы!! класс!! Вот это мастер!! Спец!
Чё тоже не спится в 3 чяса ночи
Wow how many dream bikes do you have, I think he has a dream bike for every single bike company
omg this is so amazing i never realized the work that goes into something like this not to mention its really satisfying to watch
I feel like this is THE mountain bike now.
This has to be the first video I watched from start to finish... truly amazing master craftsmanship...
One of the most beautiful builds, if not the most beautiful, that I've ever seen! That is a dream bike for sure!!
Although I really admire the craftsmanship involved in this, I still sometimes hate watching these kind of videos. Makes my mouth drool. A literal "dream" build for me 😣
Someday..
Someday........
This videos are ASMR for bikers 🙏
its stuff like this where i feel its easiest to argue that engineering is art. when i spend $4k on a bike its a lot, but when you look at the components... its art
by far my favorite video. I enjoy these kinds of videos especially the ones that are silent or doesn't have a background music
I nearly fell asleep because it was that relaxing
Same here so relaxing but really cool.
Love bikes and general but seen everything that goes in to it to be come someone's dream bike its amazing loved it,who didn't like it and why?
Thanks for watching Luis!
Once I ordered a bike online. It wasnt assmebled .Assembling it took me in heaven ❤️❤️
"The best looking bike is the one that no one has rode yet" - my dad
Bet the paintjob is more expensive than the bike itself.
I’d guess not more than the bike, but possibly similar cost to the frame.
Custum paint shops with spraying not painting can start at few hundred so its nit that expensice. Alone the frame costs 2000-3000 so its way less expensive
@@barryhoffmann7603 I just paid 800 for a completely taped, custom air brush, clear coat, nano coat and skins. It was a hardtail... but still. I think you are spot on.
@@rocketssss6
Sounds pretty cool still
seaching fir the perfect bike fot me.
Just curious, wher do u liv?
I think it varios
City, State...
I think in States like China u get it for way less but quality can suck.
In ares like europe northamerica south africa u still need to pay for jobs like this over 500 or do it yourself.
Yan Doroshenko ua-cam.com/video/uXqXhTWS8_A/v-deo.html
This work takes so much skills, time and accuracy. Awesome!
I don't know why I find this so satisfying ...
Art and craftsmanship excellence! It always amazes me how true craftsmen make it look like anyone can do it, but it would take me years to even perfect one of their techniques. So cool to watch!
UA-cam keeps on recommending things I can't afford. I wish I can afford this kind of bike. I want to give my father the best bicycle.
I’ve just sat here drooling over this bike and thought to myself I’d love this bike but remembered I’m broke af 😭😂😂😂
I had only 1 bike that I bought second hand , I modified it and made it best for me ,..but after few years someone stole it from my house 😫😫 my sed lyf ..
bruh pretty sure one kidney is enough tho
Well if I spent 1000s on a bike id like to think this sort of love and care went into its creation - Nice Job.
The Paintjob on that Bike is so Epic. The build of the Bike is insane!
bounced on my boi's rough terrain to this for hours.
Big Money
Wish i had the money for something like this. Just getting over heart surgery, and the next thing i want to do is get into mountain biking with a dual suspension or hell even a good hardtail.
Respect hope u recover nicely and enjoy riding i just caught the bug recently and can’t get over it (I’m on a hardtail)
I would go for an aggressive modern long travel hardtail. It will keep up with the Bronson in most situations and absolutely slaughter it when it comes to tracks that offer good places to pump, and anywhere where that you need to pedal especially up hills. And it will be far easier on the wallet !!
@@TheAllEngineering could you make a suggestion or two?

So much attention to detail and knowledge put into this project. I would be reluctant to ride it. It’s perfection to say the least!
