  • 🚗 Side by side comparison, V1 and V2. I really didn't think the original large dragon mould from Pouring Your Heart Out could be topped, but yes! Version 2 is out and - it's bigger! Here's my review, comparing V1 and V2 side by side. Is it worth the expense, and how is it better than the original?

Tracey, when people nit pick at you, tell them to stuff it. You are spending your time doing these tutorials and it's no ones business if it is your money or products gifted to you from a person or a company. I am happy that companies donate products to you and other craters on here, you deserve it for all of your hard work. As for your nails, sugar dirty nails or chipped ones is a part of our lives during menopause and crafting. I'm coming up on 60 and my girls constantly bug me about getting my nails done and I just tell them it's a waste of time and money, they won't last and they'll get in my way. Julie's molds are amazing and if I lived anywhere but Canada I would be buying them like an insane woman. Shipping for us is again just a waste of money. You did an amazing job with the dragons, love all the color.

Yeh shipping to here is expensive too. Worth it though :) I tried telling people to stuff it - then I got abuse about that lol. Then I found the hide button, sorted haha. re the purchasing vs gifting, we're obliged to be transparent about it - and I always make sure I am, integrity is a big deal and I'd rather people know the truth than imagine things anyway . Thanks for your support, I truly appreciate it.

Tracey, I had to have a hysterectomy at 40 . I'm 69 now, almost 70, and I still have the hot flushes now and then! I'm not saying that you will too, just that you are not alone in suffering with them. I once had such a bad one that I stepped outside in jeans and t-shirt, during a blizzard, and stood there for about 5 minutes! My husband thought I was nuts!

Omg my heart goes out to you. I thought that I was the only one with a menopause that was never going to leave me. Mine started immediately after having my son and I still get the odd face flushing to this day but not as much, and he is now 19 years old. I sleep every night with a fan running close to me, and I was never given anything to help with it from my doctor. He claimed it would sort itself naturally, and I'm still waiting. I gave up complaining to the doctor after my stroke because I realised that I had better take more care of myself because I was at risk of another one. I love Julie moulds. I have several her Beta fish, Rose girl, and Large sea turtle, but I still want a couple of other ones her moulds are magnificent for sure and worth saving up for.

It helped me but goodness, please don't take a strangers on UA-cam recommendation without very carefully checking and enquiring if it's suitable for you please. I wouldn't normally share suggestions but I know how crappy it can get. Sending you virtual hugs too.

@stiffk666 Sending hugs to you and your mum, I understand how your poor mother feels. Just make sure she doesn't over do stuff, getting old sucks.😮‍💨 I'm going to get my first Mri Scan on my brain this month to see how much damage was caused. I love crafting, and diamond painting was my favourite, but since my stroke plus diabetes my eyesight isn't great, so I decided to change to resin for a while. I'm on the waiting list for so many Mri scans it's embarrassing. 😅 I just gotta keep going because my son suffers from autism and requires my help more than most at his age. I must admit that I definitely would be lost without him. We have some really great laughs together.

Beautiful dragons! The older one is more fierce than the new one but both beautiful! Love the messy! There's a commerical for Rice Crispies (cereal) you make into treat bars, which are very simple and no cooking. The mom is in the kitchen relaxing as the treats are done, family coming so she flings water on for sweat, flour to look messy and goes out with treats. Wiping her brow and signing etc, such hard work. Your mica flying reminded me of that , so messy makes it look like you're working hard! Just lean into it and have fun!

And for those who think the molds are expensive, they need to realise how much time is spent making them, on top of the materials. And let’s face it, any craft is expensive. Yes, one can use all sorts of hand-me-downs or second-hand materials and achieve good results, but good/new materials make for outstanding results.

I must plot and plan!! As for the menopause discussion..I'm going on 10 years with it and started naturally in my early 50's...I'm 61 now. It's not quite as bad as it was, the symptoms are lessening somewhat. I still get hot flashes. One minute I'm minding my own business and the next it feels like I've been set on fire. I look forward to winter. It can be -20° F and I'm outside with only a hoodie... well, I do wear pants.😉Sigh. Keep on making stuff, I'll keep watching. Again, amazing job on the dragons.

Wow, Tracey! Those dragons are amazing. I saw Julie make her first one, it was amazing. I bought only one mold from her and that is enough for me. She is making a fortune from her molds. I told Claire a while back my hot flashes have been going on since spring 2003! Some ladies have them until they pass on. Hormones are horrible for us at this age. I went on Effexor for my anxiety and an added bonus was it reduced the effects of the hot flashes. I was overjoyed because when they’d come on I’d become nervous and my mind would go blank. They’d last anywhere from five to ten minutes and I’d get three an hour! After they ended I’d be freezing. I still feel them, but only slightly, trying to come through. I was absolutely miserable. Bad thing is, I’ll have to be on the Effexor for the rest of my life. 😡 I need more ice water. The horrendous heat here is dangerous. 🥵

As for Menopause, some get flushes more intense than others, I am now 60 and have been flushing for about 9 years lol. For me it has raised my body temp which change what I could wear to bed. I read the other comments about people still being mean, as I victim of bullying it very much pisses me off that they think being a keyboard warrior is ok and picking on things that is none of their business is ok. Glad you like my videos thank you. I don;t usually comment on menopause and other such issues in my life, as I said this is a craft channel so I usually keep things like that out of it but since I struggled a lot when making this video, I did and I've been surprised how many have commented and are suffering too. As you come from the medical field and have a similar experience to me - what do you think about the issue of our bodies being forced into it rather than having the opportunity to go through the build up phase naturally? is it worse/better... I can feel a discussion coming on here for my other channel if you're up for it. Would you drop me an email to MiniScenesGB@gmail.com if this interests you, I'd appreciate input

I use talc or yarrow root powder before putting on my gloves, and "double glove", i.e. put on powder, put on one pair, and put powder on the gloves, then put on another pair. That way, I can remove one pair, and not have to change pairs, because even powder doesn't stop the fact that it's like a mini waterfall when I take them off.

A possible idea for the sweaty hands situation, is something that some people do as part of their regular resin procedure, is to get some fine cotton gloves that are worn under the regular gloves.
They will absorb sweat, and make it easier to put on your nitrile gloves.
I would suggest getting a few pairs, and use as required.
You can use the cotton gloves through a couple of changes of the disposable gloves, so probably each resin session would require new cotton gloves, then wash and reuse.
    I know that menopause sucks.

Julie's molds are very costly here in the states but if you know of any companies based in the US that have hand crafted molds id really love the info. I'm not big into dragons myself but these are gorgeous! Beautiful color combo! Great work as expected ❤ oh and I was also sent into menopause through surgery the final time. I've went through it 4 times I was medically put into menopause 3 times and the hot flashes OMG it's truly awful I completely sympathize with you. I've been dealing with it on and off since I was 21 but in 2012 I had to have the surgery and it's been non stop since actually this is the first summer I've had that it's not been horrid on me since that time. You are at the end window so just hold on keep a misting bottle of ice water close by to spray your face and head with it truly helps and those cooling blankets are supposed to be amazing as well so id definitely invest in one of those. The hormone pills help a little bit but not nearly enough. That combined with one of the hottest summers is literally the absolute worst I could imagine especially since I was going through the exact same thing last summer during a time that our air conditioner was down I truly thought I was going to have a heat stroke so please take care of yourself and if you feel too hot take a break and cold shower or whatever you need to do to cool down and prevent anything catastrophic much love sweet girl ❤

I'm not sure im in a position to give advice, I'm certainly no expert. I had TAHBSO surgery at 49. All I would say to you is if you do have to have it, yes recovery is very painful at first but by goodness it's quicker than I expected. And it was life changing, other than menopause when my body hadn't even started getting ready for it. The doctors really now what they are doing with the various types of hysterectomy, so if you have to go with that, be assured that the really know what they are doing :)

@miniscenesgb thank you. Don't worry I didn't expect medical advice! Thank you for letting me know. Also my mum SWORE by black cohosh (sp?) For her hot flashes. She couldn't take HRT (previous cancer) and she could really tell the difference if she forgot to take it. Also I wanted to highly recommend something random to help at night. I run very hot so I invested in a special brand of pillow with cooling technology. I swear to you my fiancee can't use it as he says its too cold!!! I LOVE it, it's not cheap but it is life changing if you get too hot at night. It's temper cool and you have to buy the pillowcase, that's the magic stuff! The pillow is a lovely pillow too! Shop around, not cheap but absolutely worth it. I hope this helps 🥰🥰🥰

thanks yes I was thinking about getting one of those pillows so that's good to know, before I splash out on one. I've been using one of those cool mats you get for dogs. That works well on my pillow but eventually warms up so I have to have a second one to use while the first one cools down again. I'll get one of those pillows soon, I did wonder if they were really any good, so thank you

I would love to see the nails on the people after they have doen their * creations* . Please don't listen and kowtow to bit pickers about your nails. The majority of us i would think are looking at what you are creating and listenign to what you do and not watching your nails LOL. IF you want to do your nails and not spend extra money on doing them go for it Other than that i would not listen to them. I agree with the others tell them naysays nit pickers to stuff it !!. Oh btw when i remember what i needed info with UV resin i will let you know . There was something but i forgot LOL. OH NO it came back lol You can use pigment paste in uv ? Ahhh pigment paste in UV. I wouldn't as it's got one part of epoxy in it usually. And also it's so heavily pigmented you'd struggle to add little enough for the UV light to get through it to cure it. If you try it and find otherwise please let me know. I will do a video on colouring UV soon, and make a note to include that

Tracey both the dragons turned out fabulous. With regards to menopause, sadly it's never over. Once you hit it, that's it for the rest of your days. You should check out Dr. Mary Claire Haver here on yt. Don't listen to fearmongering docs. No reason why you can't be on hrt for the rest of your days. They'll be prising mine from my cold dead hands. I'm 54 and 10 years into it and couldn't get a doc to prescribe hrt for me so I sourced it myself and will NEVER come off it. If you're on bioidentical hrt it protects you from heart attacks, strokes, alzheimers, bone loss... the list goes on. Going without hormones means early demise sadly. Don't let any doc do that to you. Unfortunately docs aren't trained properly in hrt and a lot of them are working on the WHI study from 2001 which was seriously flawed and was using non-bioidentical hormones.

    • @miniscenesgb
      @miniscenesgb  13 днів тому

I had to come of HRT. My surgeon is a world leading physician - nothing to do with scaremongering. She is THE expert on HRT so what she says goes. There were risks starting to rear their heads.

Never listen to anyone about your nails.
On the subject of menopause I know what it's like I had surgery so early menopause for me to post menopause can last up to 11yrs my doctor told me I have it bad because before menopause I am always hot even in the winter with the menopause on top it's way worser to top that in the summer is unbelievable but I brought a Duux whisper flex fan and the settings go up to 30 which I always have on the 30 it's funny in the winter my poor husband goes to bed with his wooly hat.
Both dragons look stunning love them the colours are stunning.

For crying out loud Tracey, if people don't have anything better to do than to pick at your nails, which always look lovely, tell them to go pound sand. 🙄 How petty. That kind of stuff drives me crazy. Things like that is why I could never do videos. My hands always look terrible because I work in my garden everyday. 😵😂 When your hands get so sweaty like try a light coating of baby powder on your before you put your gloves on.
It looks like the tail is lot more sturdy on the new mold.

Also - getting my hands really cold sure sped up the passing of the hot flush, it was rather nice :) The nails thing - stuff like that doesn't bother me any more. I'm now trying to get used to more serious attacks and learning the art of ignoring it :) Thanks for all your support Ada

I'm the other way, I much prefer crafters hands showing the work they do on them. I absolutely detest these great long nails where you can see people struggling and then they obscure what people are actually doing. Stupid ridiculous trend. You shouldn't have to spend time making nails perfect before you can craft. You're mostly in gloves anyway for goodness sake. But then I'd never be so rude to comment on someone else's appearance that had absolutely nothing to do with the channel. Not great for getting people to subscribe I know but I'd tell them to sod off and mind their own business. I guess that's why I'm an antisocial recluse who watches too much UA-cam.

Thanks for your support - thankfully I sort out my nails once a month, and as they are real there's no worries about false nails pinging off, and the gloves protect them too, so it only takes an hour :)
