- In this video we'll talk about resonator deletes on the B9 Audi RS5. I have only deleted the two front resonators and its changed the entire car for me. If you don't want to spend $3k+ on an exhaust, this is one of the most cost effective options.

You say you didnt want to spend 5k on an aftermarket exhaust system but this actually sounds way better than any exhaust system ive heard for this car.
I agree I have an RS5 too and the Audi Sport exhaust with res delete is pretty damn good

Sounds great! I have a 2022 RS5 Sportback and just did the front two res delete with the Bull-X kit. Basically what it should have sounded like from the factory.
Does this void the warranty ?
@@Andrew-qs5yo no it does not. It would only void any part of the exhaust warranty if the dealer could prove that the resonator delete caused an issue.
Do you have the competition package? And does your car sound just like this one?

Sounds great! I did the VPS pipes for the front delete on my ‘21 S5 vert plus the 034 stage 1 - nice sound and RS5 power numbers to go with it!😉. I have’t done an external vid to compare but I think yours sounds louder? May be differences in the cats or that third res?
Btw, after seeing this vid, had to go find an RS - picked up a ‘21 SB Ascari LE! Doing the res delete soon, for starters!😃. Why are these Audi’s so quiet stock?!

Just did the two front resonator delete on my 2023 . It’s just hits the spot right . In comfort no issues in dynamic it’s just epic . Cost me only 80 bucks here in south texas

I wonder if it would be possible to tune the gearbox so that it doesnt do these sharty shifts its doing now. The new m4/m3 has the same zf8 box but it doesnt sound the same way on shifts.
This is a late reply, but If you flash the Integrated engineering stage 1 tune, it eliminates the "fart" sound you described. I personally really really like the sound though. It sounds like an explosion every shift. Videos don't do it justice.
Does a res delete affect the ability to alter exhaust sound between comfort and dynamic modes? My guess is no since you recommend leaving the stock exhaust tips w/ valves on. Maybe I’m wrong. Just covering all bases before I move forward. Thanks!!! Also, I see the IA plates. You from SE Wisconsin??
Res delete does not affect the cars ability to alter exhaust sound. The valves inside the mufflers keep the car quite in comfort mode. I did pick up the car in Wisconsin lol

I just got 2023 RS5 sport back, I really want to make exhaust louder without spending too much money, so I want to ask you, did you notice any fuel difference and speed difference? Should take all 3 resonator or just 2 front one? Any shop you recommend, I’m at florida, and what is fair price going to be? Ty. I’m asking lots questions.
There is no fuel efficiency differences. The car can still get 31+ MPG. I have not observed any performance/speed increase. There maybe an increase to exhaust flow but I wouldn't get this mod solely for performance; It's a sound enhancement. You can take all 3 resonators out if you want, but others have informed me that it does not make a difference and to only delete the front two. I went to a Midas and I was charged $360 taxes included, but any exhaust shop should be able to do this mod with no problems. I think you will really really like it.
Deleted resonators on my 2021 M4 comp and my 2018 RS5 B9. And holy they sound fucking amazing
Nice video! Is it a model with opf? Here in Switzerland the car is sold with that damn opf😡, which affects a lot the exhaust sound.
I've installed the CETE active valve control to let the valves opened, and it has really increased the sound, specially at low speed. But I'm really hesitating about that bull-x resonator
This is not an OPF model since the car was sold in the US. I'd consult your Audi dealer about a res delete if you have the OPF.

Nope. If I'm not mistaken Audi sells their own res delete for the RS5 and the S5. its like $900 tho.

Yes, they did put straight pipes in place of the resonators.
Damn this video made me smile! I was disappointed when I got my 2023 RS5 (+OPF), the sound was way too low for an RS5! So I made an appointment to install the Miltek downpipes with 200 cel sport cat, stage 1 tuning ECU & TCM, constant open valve module and because of this video also the bull-x res delete. I'm really curious about the end result! Thx for the video!
Hello, have you made your car modifications yet? If so, how does it sound? I have a 2020 B9 RS4 and im considering the exact same upgrade as you. But im more into either getting the miltek race cat and stage 1/2 upgrade OR just the bull-x res delete. Youre going both tho, thats crazy!
Im not sure wich way to go, bull-x delete is a cheaper alternative and thats why im hesitating now.
@@felix6348 Hi, my appointment is in a couple of weeks, so not yet. Now it sounds like a vacuum cleaner with the OPF. I've had a custom exhaust (after res) which was a very nice alternative but still too silent, so I installed back the original. I'm not sure that if you have an OPF and do a res delete that the sound will be that much louder, this is the reason why I wanted to do all the changes I mentioned before. Better a little bit too loud than a little bit too silent. Hope my neighbors will forgive me 😁

Hey man! Love this video. I just picked up 2021 RS5 last week, and did the front resonator delete yesterday. With the vales open mine doesn't sound nearly as loud as yours does in this vid. Just to confirm, you made this video with the reward resonator just before the mufflers still in place, correct?
Yup, everything is stock except for the two front resonators deleted. I would say drive around the city with some buildings with your windows down if you really want to hear how loud it can get lol. These cars are very well insulated inside so sometimes you'll have to roll the windows down.

Did the mod to keep the valves open all the time, as well as a 034Motorsport tune, and it sounds super good now. Posted a short a few days ago of the exhaust if you want to hear it. Mine has a different rear splitter, I think the car is stock I just don’t see many cars with the same one I have. It’s a 2018 rs5
2018 RS5 is considered the "B9" generation (pre-facelift). The car you see in my videos is the "B9.5" (Post Facelift). Audi made some cosmetic and under the hood changes to the B9.5 that's why the rear splitter looks different. Everything in this video still applies to your B9 though.
Is this better dan just putting catless downpipes for the stock exhaust to get more sound?
No, Catless is 100% louder. This is a perfect in-between for someone who does not want to buy a full exhaust for 3k+ but wants a lot more volume than stock. Not to mention catless will give you a check engine light unless you are tuned.
Do you have to buy the bullX or can u just take it to a muffler shop and they put pipes they might have in there for you?
I took it to a local Midas (an auto repair franchise here in America) and they did it for $360. The same amount it would cost to buy a Bull-X res kit.

Hello! Yup, only deleted the front two resonators. If you really want to hear the exhaust better, roll down all your windows and I promise you wont be disappointed lol.

it could sound better removing the resonator will increase the rapines and that's not what you want get a muffler delete and keep the res it would sound deeper
I bought a resonator delete kit from ESC, had it installed last week. It now makes a weird noise, like a fluttering noise as if there’s a leak. At idle it makes an odd noise, too. Had it double checked today and they’re saying everything is tight and no leaks. Do you have this issue, too?
I did have a slight exhaust leak that my Audi dealer pointed out. I went back to my exhaust shop and they patched it up for free of course. No problems at all and it's been almost a year with the car + this mod
this actually sounds a little too loud for my liking. is it possible to just delete one res the sound be louder than stock but quieter than this ?
I haven't heard of anyone deleting just one resonator but I don't think It'll hurt anything. Also, keep in mind I was in a forest where the resonance amphiphiles the sound. The exhaust is noticeably louder/sounds better, but I's not crazy "get pulled over loud".

I'm sensitive to drone and I'm happy to report that there is absolutely no drone with the valves closed.

Do you have to put a pipe in after the resonator delete or you can just delete it and replace the resonators with nothing?
You're have to cut out the resonators and then install two pipes to connect the exhaust again.

Yeah. You can get a resonator delete for the S5. Note that the RS5 and S5 have different exhaust though so if you want to buy a resonator delete kit, make sure it’s for an S5

Technically in some countries it may be. I see it as the same as not completely stopping at a stop sign. Yeah, it's Technically illegal but everyone does it, even cops lol. I wouldn't worry about getting pulled over for this mod, it's not insanely loud.

Not at all. I took it on a long road trip not too long ago and managed 31 MPG.
Shifts sound terrible (my opinion) the v6 makes me want the the rs3 or rs6 more sound wise.
The fart makes me want a different brand. I’m looking to upgrade because I always wanted to go RS5 some day. Dreamt of it since the old V8 and now I’m looking and I’m like, Why would I pay 100k for a farting car. May just Get a z06. Sucks to watch your dream car turn into a fart in the wind.
@Nick B it's more because of the tune. They'll all have shift pops but the popping thing is tune related I have an rs5 and it sounds nothing like this
