Blade is pretty much useless as any dude who wants to live will guard his joints from a blade but a 6 lbs cross guard (cross guard in a balanced sword is equal in weight to the _entire_ blade) is a pretty good purpose built bludgeon.

Dude this is just a really fun game. Trying to play in hardcore will kick your ass lthough. Love it. If you have them watch and try this again have them go through the Rattay Tournament. Where they choose from Axes, hammers, short sword and shield and of course long swords. They might like they added weapons.

@@Poke-ladd Last time I played I was using fast travel but the travel was cancelled at the mill because he was there, however the trip wire didn't work, so I was there in the middle of the night, trying to get off my horse, while trying to not get hit with a sword and trying to use a torch to see something so I could kill him. It was a mess but I was too overleveled for him and had way too good armor, he stood no chance.
As a historical fencer, I love the fighting in this game. Everyone except Fiorists like their windings and zwerchaus. And don't forget the cinematic at the end of the first act. Mordschlag, anyone?

Kingdom Come : Deliverance both stands on its own and deals with so much untapped potential for the sequel .It is greatly fun with accurate combat and an accurate depiction of early XVth century Holy Roman Empire (Except its depiction of the Church , that sucked) .Can not wait for the next game to bring us even more authenticity , even prettier equipment (The Arming Swords in this game were kind of short and ugly) and places and even better storytelling .Also , Sword and Buckler needs to be a thing . Hope they can add some Comission mechanics , to design our own sword , armour and clothing .It would be epic .

Hussite wars employed crossbows first in Bohemia at large, and the wars started in 1419 (the game even nudges towards it as the in real life the Bohemia in 1403-1419 was heavily "no mans land" in center and to the west, basically all roads were dangerous because of Cumans (yes they were thing for 20 years in Bohemia), bandits and even looters and soldiers.
Another detail in the combat is that sometimes, your opponent wont let you keep hitting him, he'll do those counter attacks and those clinches and even dodge. I swear, if I had a penny for every time Bernard stopped me from performing those combo attacks...
yea combo attacks are basically impossible against any opponent that is actually a threat to you. They are possible against really weak opponents. Weirdly enough even peasants constantly block and counter attack a maxed out level 20 swordmanship henry.

Best is this seen with Runt or Zoul, both of them are hands down the hardest bosses in the game (excluding the old knight you find in Sasau during main quest) and its impossible to perform it on them as they will riposte the last hit if they have stamina.
This game is heavily underrated, glad to see it get recognition The maneuvers are awesome to pull off, the developers really went overboard with the combat in a good way
To be fair, this game is infamously known for either one of the best medieval games in this generation, and also the hardest mechanic game out there. But man, I can't say Im not enjoying my time on this game. *MASTERPIECE*

The game is NOT something you can rush through, it requires you to practice and take your time and I think that turned off a lot of casual gamers. I do have some complaints (like most of the quests, both side and main, making you have to jump through hops) but I’d agree it’s a masterpiece

So far as I know, there are no extant fechtbuch from Bohemia, but men-at-arms tended to travel, especially the ones going from contract to contract, so wherever they learned to fight would travel with them.

Spinning moves only work if you’re using a long double sided like weapon. To have offensive capabilities on both sides of the shaft, otherwise spinning just leaves you open. I can only see a spinning move to practically work in extreme circumstances when surrounded.
an interesting thing about this game is some enemies don't fet tricked by feints or bait, so some combos doesn't work, and you have to tire them out, sometimes nothing works and you just gotta run, which is cowardly.
I never managed to land combos. Every time I strike, the opponents just perfect blocks and counters. (The slow motion thing). So how can I do combos if this happens every time?
The game is all about armour. It's super difficult early on, but soon as you get good armour, you can screw up all day and still win 1v5s. Personally, I worked on being an amazing thief, and stole a bunch of great armour. :P
@@Danceofmasks honestly not even so much about armor, it definitely helps but the most important thing is training just like irl, train relentlessly with Captain Bernard until your stats go up real high and you get stronger clinches and learn how to parry, counter and stack combos. You'll start moving so fast, strong and refined with your attacks and defense that you could easily fight off 5 well armed Cuman barbarians in just a linen shirt with a chipped, rusty longsword at your side (speaking from experience lol)

@@Danceofmasks yeah you can do all that just a few hours in, literally all it takes is getting to the point where you duel with Sir Hans and then boom, unlimited training which levels you up just as fast as regular combat, I was at a main level of 13 with all my main statistics except Vitality above 10 and my combat skills all highly leveled by the time I did the hunt with Sir Hans which is pretty early in the game, annihilated both Cumans during the ambush while wearing no armor aside from a gambeson and took no damage, grinding makes Henry OP very quickly.
Recreating moves from Kingdom Come equals to simply doing HEMA. The most realistic combat from any game. The people who trash talk this game's great combat system are the types who think it's more realistic to have one OP character easily beating 20 soldiers. Or just suck at it. Or both.

In this video and the for honor video I keep having the feeling like they are "shy" when recreating the moves it feels slow and weak specially in the for honor video at least compared to when the martial artists or the samurai experts try the moves specially when compared to the samurai experts tried ghost of tsushima moves. Idk I could be wrong but maybe they can look more enthusiastic when trying?

The issue I have with the combat/gameplay is they sometimes throw a lot of enemies at you and the system and camera isn’t really designed for that

I never do any combos, it's mostly just hit the other guy(s) a lot and perfect parry & riposte whenever they attack.

I like this game but its so hard I can't finish the game
In this video and the for honor video I keep having the feeling like they are "shy" when recreating the moves it feels slow and weak specially in the for honor video at least compared to when the martial artists or the samurai experts try the moves specially when compared to the samurai experts tried ghost of tsushima moves. Idk I could be wrong but maybe they can look more enthusiastic when trying?
