Why didn't you close the IMG tag and add a proper (or improper if IE needed) doctype?
... nevermind. Not everyone is suffering from IE PTSD from those days.

It's not necessary to close the IMG tag as it cannot have any child nodes and I forgot to add doctype.

@@technologytime69 my trauma made me use XHTML back in the day and the lack of doctype made me assume.
Img tags need a /> in xhtml as nothing can be left open.
Using xhtml with a proper doctype allowed me to code for proper browsers, then go back and add malformed code that only IE would render easier.
