    I really like how you used the longer (6 x 24?) or any large- enough-sized ruler to hold all the squares in order so you can chain piece them in a quick and orderly fashion; I will be using that tip :-). And a thread saver does so much more than save money on thread. However, I like to use two 2 1/2 inch squares of scrap fabrics (especially those left over from jelly rolls) wrong sides together as my thread savers. That way, I'm sewing blocks for two quilts at the same time. The beauty of it is that I'm using up my scraps productively, eliminating bird's nests at the beginning of piecing blocks, and well on my way to making blocks for a secondary scrap quilt where I don't have to have ultra coordinating fabric.

    why do you call your presser foot "feed dogs"? The feed dogs are the teeth underneath.
