There is always room for more indoor supermarkets and farmers markets. This is especially needed in the interior of the country where miners and our Amerindian indigenous people have fewer options than in the city of Georgetown.

Suggest you contact the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce. There is also a Guyanese American chamber of commerce. You may find your competitors and consultants there. There is definitely a need for more supermarkets in Guyana especially in the interior of the country where mining has grown significantly and in the Amerindian communities where there transportation and distribution of goods from the city is difficult.
Yes supermarkets are needed in rural areas and in the mining communities in the interior. Fresh fruits and vegetables are scarce for miners and they are willing to pay higher prices for groceries. The problem is logistics or you can grow vegetables closer to the mining communities.
The last time I considered this business opportunity one needed to invest about $500k or $2500 USD initially to get started shipping vegetables from Georgetown to the interior. You need to do this once or twice weekly and you need someone to sell in the interior and someone to buy in Georgetown. The transportation cost is high because you need to rent ATVs to move loads over rough terrain in the interior.
