I’ve seen other UA-camrs get access to the work sites for the bridge. They seem very friendly to those who are trying to watch the progress of construction. You could try and see if they would give you access to visit the sight and get some more up close footage

Those tubers have government connections.😜😜😜. Connections get you access to everything Guyana.

People must pay toll to use. The money should go to maintain the bridge and help pensioners and disabled people. This is what opposition should fight for rather than push racism.

The canal running along side the pillars will require reenforcement against soil erosion.

Small correction, the engineering firm overseeing the project is Italian, not Brazilian

The cost of maintaining the bridge is unknown. The construction cost will be about $1 billion USD by the time it is completed.

Nice works. However a part of me realizes how weak we as a nation really are quite shameful. We have to depend on others for such things

Nothing will be free, just high taxes

When they say its free, they mean that there will be no toll for the users to pay. But eventually we all know it when funds begin to run out users will have to pay.

The claim that the bridge will cost US 1 billion is not supported by any evidence.Yes the President said that crossings at Demerara,Berbice and Linden will be free and I believe that statement is more political than economic.Later on I believe a small fee will be introduced.I support a toll for crossing and agree that the costs of the interconnecting roads will take the overall project above the US265 million which is only for the bridge.

The evidence is the cost of similarly bridges that have been built elsewhere; the fact that the government has already borrowed and spent 260 million USD from China, the fact that the government did not account for the cost of constructing access roads and approach roads and ramps to the bridge, and the fact that there are always cost overruns and costly construction delays that the politicians prefer to hide from the public. We will only know the full cost When all the costs are totaled after construction. The total cost is likely to exceed $1 billion USD. But the government is likely to hide this fact from the public unless the opposition is able to reveal these figures.

what the president says is political & will only lead to ppl debating politics which is argumentative. Ppl are here to be happy, confident & proud of progress in our Developing Country

I still don’t understand the obsession with these narrow lanes/roads, with all the obstacles along the sides. It boggles my mind! I guarantee it’s two way traffic 😂😂😂😂

They will have to move these house on this side to build the pile foundation for the bridge. These houses are in the way. 😢 and some of these houses are well built. This is so sad.😢😢😢😢😢😅

That bridge could have been built further down the road to an area free of residential infrastructure, and it would have been cheaper.

The taxpayers will have to pay for it, so the free ride is a political sound bite. It’s not realistic. The structure will require maintenance into the future.

The government has said the maintenance due to construction techniques will be very low so monies through the NRF and responsible budgeting will cover any associated costs going forward.
However, Mr. Patterson the renowned engineer can initiate a feasibility study.😂

What are the costs? Stop hand waving and find out the exact cost of construction and maintenance. That is the level of attention to detail that is required to manage the economy.

@@traderboi2662stupidity behooves you. This is why the government gives you mediocre work. Look at all the new roads they built. They are ALL falling apart in under a month. Feasibility studies are important to any major project, including roads because you need to know long and short term, location, and many other factors.
