I can usually spot a Moissanite instantly but these stones are in a light that it makes it more difficult. I'm pretty sure the Moissanite is on the left since I see the hazier colors from the double refraction plus the stone has a stronger refraction or display of different colors of light which is stronger than the diamond on the right. The diamond scintillates light sharper than the Moissanite due to not being doubly refractive.
They both look lovely to me and Moissanite isn't a "fake" diamond nor is it any sort of diamond simulant, it is a distinctive gem unto itself. Saying Moissy isn't a real diamond is like saying a garnet isn't a real ruby. Two different gems.
Sally Griffin The problem is over 99 percent of Moissanite is "fake". It's so rare that all of it is lab created for jewelry. To give someone "real" stones would be a truly special and expensive gift.
RainMotorsports The problem with this type of thinking is that it is terribly unsustainable and unenvironmental. If something has the same chemical make up it is real.
I am sure that the one on the left is the moissanite and the diamond is on the right.. the moissanite is double refractive and that means that the ray of light is split in two and the diamond have a crystalstructure that is cubic and can not split the rays like the moissanite.. now look if you can see double facetedges (the lines in the middle) when they are turning.. I hope this helped
Would like to know which is which. Yellow is a fairly common impurity in Diamond. I've been informed by my jewler that Moissanite may have a very subtle shade of green. But without actually being told which is which in this video, I'd probably just be applying my own bias to the results.
I'm guessing the one on the left is Moissanite because it has just a touch of yellow. Still, they are both very sparkly, very durable, so the 'bang-for-your-buck' award goes to SiC.
@bluedaisypink, my guess is the moissanite is on the left. It doesn't have the sparkle the real diamond has. I'm sure this isn't a real good example of how moissanite is supposedly beautiful.
Its pretty easy to see, the moissanite splits the light into a visable rainbow pattern simular to an color gradient whilst a real diamond shifts the color, each facet only reveals one color at time, in fact because the this, the moisannite is more vibrant in color and thus more attractive.
Since I don't read Russian, I'm assuming Moissanite is on the left and the real diamond is on the right. I'm guessing that Moissanite doesn't translate well on film, because people who own swear they are they most beautiful thing and can get lost in looking at them. One day, I think I want one, and the next day, I change my mind.Looking at this video today, I'm on the not wanting day. Perhaps, tomorrow, I'll change my mind again and want one.
@didgers actually real diamonds do have a touch of yellow to them unless they are 100% Perfect, but the chances of getting a perfect rock are about the same as striking oil in your backyard, with a shotgun.
lol according to my translator the writing in russian on the left bottom says: "Gemmopogitsesky Center of Moscow State University" i'm thinking they mean gemmology center ahaha, still in the dark about which is which
we are talking about two different things you and i... you are talking about the cuting properties and the reflection when it is finished and then you are right, it is about the direction of light and how the light is reflected back up... I am talking about the physical properities of the gemstone.. have you heard of the refractive index? look it up.. there you will know what i meant by saying that it is "splitting" the ray of light...
they both look like moisanites. they both have dual refractive....or iam seeing things. i find the right one is the diamond but it seems i n otice a bit of double refraction.
I prefer 10 forever brilliant moissanites than one diamond of the same size. What we are looking for in a precious stone? brilliance, fire, class and spark??, Forever Brilliant moissanite is better for me and cost 10 times less than a diamond, so in my humble opinion the wiser option is a Forever Brilliant moissanite.
I have Moissanite earrings (obviously on the left) and I'm very sorry and foolish to have spent so much for the syntheticly grown stones. They can look very pretty under ideal lights, but they're nowhere close to being as mesmerizing as my H&A diamond with its light dispersion and scintillation of dancing/boucing sparkles. Diamond looks amazing in any light, but moissanite can look glassy and plain in comparison. Don't be a fool and spend thousands on lab grown stones. I recently found a $10 CZ earrings at local Craker Barrel of all places and that CZ looks better than Moissanite!
I have a Moissanite solitaire pendant; and once you own a Moissanite you can spot which is a diamond, and which is not. I own good quality diamonds, and they spit fire even in almost no light. Only in halogen or florescent lighting you really get the moissanite fire that is comparable to a diamond. People complain about the CZ, but a lazer cut CZ has as much fire as a diamond, but it doesn't have much depth as a ideal cut diamond. What I am saying is the Cz is more see through.

Left is Moissanite due to the double refraction visible in the middle of the stone. Am I right?

Lab Created stones aren't FAKE however!

It all then becomes perceived value
RainMotorsports and it supports evil people and evil practices.
the reflective rounded corners of the moissanite is the most obvious characteristic
For a second I thought this was a crush test.
That’s why I clicked 😂😂
Same here 😅

without looking at the bezel i wouldnt know for sure , as the bezel will be smoth or faceted as with diamonds and smooth for moisanite.

is this why lab-grown diamonds are usually solid-yellow?
most of the time yes, now with CZ it Basically fully clear and looks too good to be true, "because it is"
ABSOLUTELY MY FRIEND WELL SAID !!!!!

Is it just me, but I can't find any differences between them.
Open your eyes Asian man
Besides, to make a better comparison you must compare two stones of the same size, larger stones looks less brilliant than smaller stones.
Right one is diamond
As much as I love moissanite. In this side by side comparison, the moissanite loses on facet pattern.
Which one is the moissanite!!! first glance i said the right then i said the left now i am totally confused!!!
How can you differentiate between diamond and moissanite?
Oh wow so interesting....
this the 4th video in a row where someone bashed diamonds. it's getting old now, thanks 😕
I like the one on the right, but is that the diamond or moissanite?
The smaller one is the diamond

Где что? Трудно подписать?
Смотрю тут все русские собрались) Где муассанит?
diamond is on the right....no comparison :)

chăng khác gì nhau
Both Opal diamonds💪💪

No you don't.
both are moissanite.!!!

They have come a long way since then. They even have cz that mimics diamonds to a t.
theres no difference
