Funny thing: in Europe plenty of commercial trucks and even busses have this feature, but in the US it seems you have to get it custom made. E.G. Mercedes Econic has it (as an option), while Freightliner Econic (basically, the same truck) does not. Btw Econics, especially, low cab ones are really popular in Europe as the chassis for different aerials.
Pierce , has made 4W steer, for straight aerial trucks for many years. This is the first time (for me) to see an engine with this capability. I know of several departments with similar configured roads, that could use a rig like this. But I am sure the cost make this option a hard sell, at budget talks! Beautiful rig👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
This was awesome!!! Thanks for showing that engine. I've only ever seen tandem axle ladders with all wheel steering. DON'T FORGET TO WEAR YOUR SEATBELT, even if it's a short trip.
Great idea with a purpose designed truck. People criticize short wheel bases etc but they fail to understand you have to get what works for your particular response area.
Thank you @HeroesNextDoor for sharing this video with everyone; this rig is way cool! Seeing a fire engine take such a sharp turn as that one towards the end is mind-blowing!
Yes we would love too but we need an official invite from the department. Can you assist with that? We need contact numbers, addresses location and a brief description of what you would like to highlight for the filming.
I believe that all firefighting vehicles should have this
Thanks for all you and your crew do.
Much appreciated

This is very cool! Thanks for sharing! I could see something like this being super helpful in tight cities too.
Definitely!
Very cool! My town needs one of these!
Not sure if they still make them but worth looking into for sure
Something to consider for all departments no matter where they are.
Thats cool. Good choice for that department
I really like 4 wheel steering for fire apparatus
COOL AND NEEDED!!

Glad you enjoyed it!

Hello , I was wondering if your could do a station cribs an station rigs on Delmar Fire Department in MD station 47
Yes we would love too but we need an official invite from the department. Can you assist with that? We need contact numbers, addresses location and a brief description of what you would like to highlight for the filming.
@@HeroesNextDoor alright I’ll see what I can do
@@HeroesNextDoor ok I’ll be sending a message through instagram that says hello
Didn't Pierce discontinue this feature after they had a couple of issues where the back end wandered on its own?
Not sure. This was the only one we have come across. They seem to love it and have not had issues
No. They have a different version of it out. You can order it right now. Especially with ladder trucks.
Very interesting video and Truck . The driver needed to be mic’d up , couldn’t hear him clearly
Sorry about that we will work on that
