  • You asked, we answered! In this video my (non-disabled) best friend Izzy answers the questions you've always wanted to ask your own friends, and we have a good old chat about friendship and chronic illness. I cannot begin to tell you how much of this video had to be edited or removed to make it suitable for public consumption, but we cover managing expectations, asking for assistance, initiating conversations about disability rights, and so much more. Hope you enjoy!

Hello! My name is Pippa Stacey and I’m a disabled writer, presenter, and communications consultant based in York. I enjoy theatre, books, and fundraising, and can most often be found wearing some form of pyjamas and drinking all the tea.
I acquired my chronic illness as a young adult and struggle daily with the challenges of living my best life alongside managing a debilitating health condition. However, I’ve finally learned that I don’t have to ‘overcome’ or ‘defy’ my illness in order to be successful, and there’s truly nobody’s path to follow but your own.
You can find out more by visiting www.lifeofpippa.co.uk, and subscribe to see videos about working, travelling, and learning to make the most of life alongside my chronic illness. Thank you so much for being here!

This is great video! Thank you. I also have ME and I want to ask any tips for long roadtrips? Also (I'm not sure if it was in the video but i didn't notice it...) So I wanted to ask your friend that is it hard when you only have limited things you can do together? Thank you:)

I’ve been watching this video in parts so I’m not finished yet. I found it interesting that you feel your hearing is enhanced. I have always said that since I got sick, I have an enhanced sense of smell, hearing, sensitivity to people’s energy/vibes, and sensitivity to vibrations. Love the video so far! 💗

Thank you so much Ruby! It definitely seems like something a lot of us have in common, it's like you perceive the world in a whole new way!

@@LifeOfPippa Is that related to how deaf or blind folks (or those with any other sense that is less acute) have stronger sensitivity in the non-reduced senses? Or how my struggles with social skills (part of my autism) were coupled with sensitivity to some sounds, hyperlexia, and math and science abilities early on?
