I remember being scared as shit out of Colossus. A giant statue coming to life and slowly coming at me was creepy. Still, I loved this fight, a lot. Definitely one of the most badass bosses in GOW.

Years may go by, centuries but God Of War 2 is still an incredible game to be released on PS2. Take advantage of 120% of the power of the console. A timeless masterpiece.
Sony Santa Monica showed off that The PS2 was a powerful console just like they did with God of War 3 on PS3 which looks better than some PS5 games lol

I played this game a few times, and now I'm on vacation in Rhodes and just now realised how big the Colossus is when I saw the port and the old town in person, it makes the game even cooler to really be here

Smart move by Zeus taking all of Kratos's powers by baiting him with a powerful weapon instead making him vulnerable. Little did Zeus know, Kratos wasn't someone you can relax with even after literally killing him. The Ghost of fucking Sparta!

I personally consider GOW 2 as the best part of this legendary franchise. Character development was on top, graphics and everything for that time from GOW 1 to GOW 2 was a huge evolution and brings back many childhood memories, and practically GOW 1-2 are my whole childhood along with other games like GTA and Prince of Persia. Some people tend to forget how epic was to play young savage Kratos back then, even some folks didn't finish GOW 1 and 2
Gow Ghost of Sparta is a Great Prequel for Gow 2

I agree, it's my personal favorite too, GoW 3 was very good, it was the payoff for the series, but GoW 2 was perfect.
For everyone who doesn't know, the lyrics of the chanting for this boss fight are cheering on the Colossus, and pleading for it to save them from Kratos.
But it changes as Kratos starts getting advantage. Then it starts cheering for Kratos.
God damn kratos is strong 3:32 ,he launched the statue back several thousand feet like a looney tunes character ,no wonder he could resist the titans strength
Imagine if Kratos was still giant and didn’t lose all his power, we could’ve had a straight out Kaiju size fight with Kratos vs Colossus, besides that, this was my favorite boss in the game!

Greek Myth Fanboys really get salty over the inaccuracies but i like the fact that the Gods can turn giants in the GoW universe, it highlights their connections to their Titan parents.

I love how Ghost of Sparta explained why Kratos started attacking random cities. He was so disgusted and ticked off at the gods for what they did to Deimos, that he took his anger out on all the cities that worshipped them. Dude was trying to burn down the entirety of Greece for what they did to his brother. Glad Ghost of Sparta explained this, cause when 2 first came out it just looks like he went mad with power when thats not the case at all
Fun fact:
In the God of War 2 Novel, it is said that the Gods become weaker when too many worshippers die. This is another reason why Kratos started destroying the cities that worshipped the Gods of Olympus

It's not a god of war game without epic giant boss fight right at the start of the game. No one can match the OG trilogy when it comes to boss fights.
In Gow Ghost of Sparta we had to fight a Giant creature too.

The Spartans advance too quickly. At the beginning of the siege they were on the coast and later they arrived almost at the same time as Kratos where the sword was.

Of all of these wonders, 4 were destroyed by earthquake, 2 were destroyed by fire, and only ONE is currently standing!

8:48-8:52 you can tap the start at the mid pronunciation of godly it will let you use the red orbs to upgrade athena's blades before it's drained into the blade of olympus.

Notice here in GoW2 after he fought the Colossus, his ego got the better of him. Not checking if the enemy is indeed finished, he ended up getting smashed by it's hand due to his carelessness. Causing his defeat to Zeus after.
In GoW3, when Kratos was fighting Poseidon and managed to separate him from his avatar, he looked back on it to see it fall to the sea. Making sure that it won't attack him, this time learning from his previous mistake.
He also does this After Defeating the Dragon in Gow 4 as well .
I truly wish We get something like this fight in the sequel , mixed with the insane Orchestral murder music
