In these video tutorials, I normally use Bakels Premixes to save on time.
(Bakels is a bakery grade cake premix. Another great one is Allied Mills)

This cake actually looked pretty nice as a 1 tier as well ;) After this video was done I removed the top tier and decorated just the bottom tier with the popcorn and flowers for a friend. It look just as pretty! I hope you guys give this a go- any frosting comb you may have handy will look great with the ombre. I love the popcorn! Of course, I eat Carmel corn by the handfuls Lol! Everyone has their opinion, but sometimes I think they should keep it to themselves. I've had some pretty negative comments on some of my cakes, and though I try not to let it, it hurts sometimes. This cake is so unique. Keep up the good work! Also, love those orchids 😊

The flowers and the cake alone look amazing but the popcorn takes it down and makes it look more childish..maybe just more goldleaf? Or Marigolds would have worked

And I do have a question. When I make cakes they are crazy crumby, I do crumb coats but they are absolutely chock a block full of crumbs.
What’s your secret to your cakes?
birds182 place It into the freezer... Freezer, not fridge... It does wonders for my cakes. It Will make your crumb coat super hard so you Will have more time to cover it completely! If You think it's getting soft again, freeze it one more time... As many times as needed to get it full opaque! Give It a try!

Hey hun, what Julia said haha ;) I couldn't have said it better myself. If you bake your cake, also allow it to rest at least overnight or for a day in the fridge. This will also reduce crumbing. If you cut into a freshly baked cake that has just cooled down after baking, it will be a crumbly mess. Rest makes a big difference.

How much buttercream did you use for this recipe?
Hi Anais, this cake called for 1 batch of buttercream and I managed to use all of it. (900 grams icing sugar and 500 grams solid fat ratio) solid fats being butter and vegetable shortening combined.

Hi hun, these are 5 inches tall (each cake). This cake would serve about 30 people. it is a 7 inch and a 5 inch top tier.
How to keep the popcorn nice and crisp?
Hi Anastasia, the best thing you could do is place the popcorn on the cake as close to the event as possible so they stay fresh. Once they are out of the packaging, it doesn't take long for them to become stale unfortunately.
