- My first experience with a Hotone unit - this one was hotly requested! I purchased the pedal myself to give fully honest thoughts and opinions on it.

I use the Ampero Mini to jam ideas; which it is incredible for as it is so easy to use and the drum machine (although glitchy) sounds really good. However I would not recommend this unit for anyone gigging as it has two major issues not mentioned in this video. 1) The sound momentarily cuts out between patch switching / enabling new effects. You might not think this is a big deal, but when you are playing at stage volume it is extremely off putting and sounds like you keep getting technical issues. This alone makes it unusable 2) The amp modelling is not quite there, I'm guessing this will be the last generation of effects units that doesn't quite get it right. When playing live you can tell it's not a real amp, it has a 'processed' feel, and if you try place real drive pedals before it then it sounds even worse. I have a TC Ampworx on my main board and the sound difference is huge (and it takes pedals so well too), it sounds identical to my Fender Twin; no kind of dialling in on the Ampero Mini got close it always had a slightly synthetic tone..
El mini es para gente que no tiene mucho dinero o para quienes lo usan como un pedal mas de varios en su pedalboard.
I ordered a few days ago! Can’t wait to try it :)
Thanks, bro. Really good and honest demo.
Thank you so much!
Awesome demo 😊❤
Thanks for your input mate, I’ll add it to my list 🤦♂️
On Looper mode, could you please clarify wether it is possible to undo/cancel the last overdub without clearing the whole loop? The manual is unclear. Thanks!
Great demo!
Thanks for checking it out! 💪
How do you update the Ampero. I’m looking at the stage 2 and I’m hoping it can updates via the wifi and not having to back it up to your new lap top then having to download the latest firmware having to use your computer like with the Mooer stuff as that was a ball ache. Thanks
@@gazzaduce3424 You've got to use the computer - I don't know how you do it with the Stage II, but on the Mini at least you have to press and hold the footswitch while connecting it to power to enter update mode, then update via the desktop editor
Hello 😊😊
Thanks a lot 🙏
Could you please tell me if it can be connected to a tablet? (Android or iOS)
Brilliant little unit. Entirely useable live if you are smart about setup and run it with an extra dual switch. The sounds are frankly not that far off some of the higher end competition. My application has been acoustic gigs/pit band stuff and it's performed really well. If you need more complex changes, this ain't going to do it so why would you buy it? For the money it's the best in it's class
I can’t get mine to make sound through the usb cable into my pc. The editor recognizes the Ampero mini and it displays updates from the pedal or the editor. Any ideas???
You probably need an ASIO driver like ASIO4ALL. This will allow DAW software to recognize the interface (Ampero Mini) as an audio source.
@@TrueSeed-ft1jn thanks that’s what was needed!
@@JoeFic9997 ur welcome
asking: can we freely change the order of the pedals? im currently use NUX MG300 and can only change the order of Modulations and delay only.
Yes, you can change it as you wish
Hi Bro! Delay, Chorus and Reverb stereo or mono? What about playing in headphones, has a stereo panoramic?
All stereo, if you place them after the amp+cab blocks!
@@KaiDown Thanks a lot bro!
Please do check out the line 6 hd500x and nux mg300😊😊
HD500X could be a cool one to check out, mainly to see how well it holds up against current budget options. I’ll look into the NU-X too!
FTW, I was pretty underwhelmed with the models in the Hotone Ampero Mini, particularly the amps and overdrives. That said, the Ampero Stomp 2 is a HUGE improvement (IMO) and well worth the extra cash. For something that small, I prefer the Zoom MS-50G+ (and the MS-200F+ for OD, preamps.) which are a huge upgrade from their predecessors as well. And the Boss, Line 6, and Positve Grid mini-units are great also.
Cant wait for ampero3. 2 stage is just same as 2 stomp which was a disappointment.
how’s the pitch shifter and/or harmonizer?
It’s something that I don’t like about it, it sounds weird, too digital.
This pedal gives a lot for his own low cost
Will there be an update that allows a dual amp to be placed in the effects chain? as is the case of ampero 2
Good question, last I heard there was an update coming soon but I don't believe there's any word on when this will be, or what it will include
when was the last update? I'm leaning towards nux or valeton because people say the software on hotone doesn't get updates, which brand do you suggest? I'm kind of stuck@@KaiDown
@@klee2006-hm9lb I've not tried valeton or nux unfortunately. I think Hotone is a good option, dual amps isn't something I ever use and I think it's more of a nicety than a necessity.
Valeton gp 200 lt or ampero mini? Which one sounds better? thank bro! greetings from Argentina!
Reading some places about it, the comments is the Ampero II is superior to GP 200LT and in same level with Ampero, Ampero One (Ampero Mini)
The fact that really only one of the two footswitches is usable is ridiculous. As far as I understand, the left footswitch can be assigned to turn effects on/off, but the right footswitch is only used as a tap tempo? Or you can use both footswitches to change patches...Not very usable in a live setting.
That’s correct - I think the recommended setup would be to have one as the FX on/off, and the other to change presets. You can always add an external footswitch for £20 and have access to preset up/down as well as two footswitch per patch
No software update, so absolute no
Looks like they have an update in the works now!
No..😂😂
Terrible distortion. Good for a child
I agree
Then you should buy one.
What's with the distortion? They all sound more or less the same - like a shaving machine.
My apologises, I exclusively play Shavingmachinecore- I’m sure you’ll be able to find jazz demos elsewhere
@@KaiDown
I wasn't criticising your choice of music, but the distortion sounds of the pedal.
Turned out, you're an arrogant prick with no social skills too.
I agree.
