It looks amazing! One thing that might make it a tad better is a matte top coat (just spray it on) it would get rid of the glare from the ring light and make it look a tad more refined
HI, I enjoy your channel ... can't get enough of your style ,tips and info ... thank you.... you have inspired me to get back in to drawing again.. 😇👍🎨
It does look really cool! I personally would have cut all of the white bits off so they were all colored squares, and then I'd probably start in the corner and diagonally make the gradient so it ran from that upper left corner town to the bottom right. I'd have also used velcro dots so then if I ever wanted to change them around, they are easy to remove and switch.
This is exactly what I was thinking. I would maaaaybe keep the white bits out of laziness but I definitely would've tried the top-left to bottom-right gradient.
In my house hunting I looked at a house that had nails driven into every wall of one bedroom so close together that I couldn't fathom what they possibly could've been hanging. This definitely wasn't it, but I bet the holes left behind from this project will be just as confusing to anyone seeing the room without the cards on the walls. XD
@@pinkbutterfly8710 I really want to hide something in my current house before we move to make the new buyers go crazy trying to figure out what was going on. This would be perfect for that. XD
As someone whose family owns a hardware store, thank you for not just taking all the 'free' samples. They are ridiculously expensive to buy for the store.
Such an unusual and unique wall idea! I totally would do this on my art studio wall. So fun. I thinkI would end up using alien tape or flex tape that leaves no marks… Beautiful job Chloe!
I'm a school teacher and we always have to put things on the wall.. Next time check out mavalus tape! It's great! It stays up forever and won't hurt your walls!!
Chloe, they look absolutely amazing! What a brilliant idea! When the first lot started to fall down I felt sorry for you, but it seems to have worked out really well for you. It was super kind of you mum and brother to help out by organising them into a better colour balance. That must have taken so long, not just for them, but for you too! It looks amazing Chloe. Well done to you all for the hard work you did! God bless you all.
Very interesting! Personally I’d picked a different way to affix them …maybe using packing tape on the back to make one long strip so each row could be hung with maybe 3-4 pins. Also I think, decoupage the light / outlet covers or paint them to color match the swatches around them. Truly an amazing project and I’m glad you didn’t take 1000 paint chips from the store 😉
I love it when you include the clips of you talking to your pups! They are pretty entertaining and remind me of the funny frustrations of being a dog parent myself! I find I have to tell my dog no and ask him to stop being ridiculous often! But we love them anyways right, crazy and all. 😂😂 Also I love how the wall turned out!
Many amateurs don’t realize that giving your dog all the snuggles is a necessary step during an important art/DIY project. It won’t turn out properly otherwise. 🤷🏼♀️
I know this would have been exhausting… But I’m here like “I wish I could do this WITH YOU!” Anything that involves sorting colors excites me. A little too much, maybe. And the color order- this is the pain we all feel with pencils and markers. They never come in a pretty rainbow order and it’s so hard to work out the best arrangement. That would be my biggest struggle. Forever looking at the wall and wanting to rearrange a few of the colors again… 😜 But this all looked great! You did such a good job and it’s so creative!
Neat wall! The bonus with the kind of tacks you used is that you can hang small, light objects from them (such as ornaments or plush key clips). I also understand about tacks going into the wall easier in some places but not in others.
I was thinking about how I’d be too socially awkward to go into a store and take all those samples. I would probably collect them over many months to avoid my fear of strangers momentarily wondering why I needed so many. Your solution was much better, Chloe!
@@hal_jordan2814 on top of that she will have to spackle, and sand the whole wall. Then she will have to paint the wall. * I just realized that this would only work if the walls were made of drywall. If you do this to a lath and plaster wall YOU WILL BREAK THE WALL.
I love this! I have my watercolour colour chart in a frame on my wall and now I want THIS!!! I might do it more like a snake rather than rows so the rainbow was continuous but go you Chloe for coming up with this!!!
Beautiful! If I were to do this, I think I would go I’m ROYGBIV order. That’s what makes sense to my brain. I really love how you play with color and make it work for you as an artist. Not only here, but in your illustrations as well. Thanks for filming, editing, and sharing this process with us.
Chole! Omg you had me rolling!!!! Loved the vast array of emotions portrayed. The outcome was totally worth the insanity the insued!👍❤👏 You're awesome Lady!
I'm in a graphic design program in college and pantone charts are sooooooooooooo expensive. I keep looking for just small pantone stickers or things for scrapbooking and decoration. I didn't find these postcards before they're pretty cheap! This would be suuuuuch a good decoration for an art room, definitely keeping this in mind for when I get myself a small studio
This turned out amazing!!! I love that you stuck with it and didn't give up when it fell down. It was well worth the time you put into it. Hugs and blessings
That actually tunred out great Chloe. I probably would also do this on my own wall. However from learning in paint class, I would have mine re-arranged as a giant colorwheel as well as different family of colors on it. :)
This is a great idea! In the hardware shop is a montage tape it gos really well on the wall, but afterwards you have to paint the wall new, it is not removable with out a little demage, but it is cheap, easy and effektful. Also glue instat of screw kindmof glue/tape works well. I would done it a bit different in color theme I gues.
In a rental, this isn't a good idea because filling all these holes before move out would be the worst. The showing of the pentone bugs my brain. I learned a trick in college: if you use the pin to pinch the paper to the wall, your art won't have a hole in it. In saying all that, I really do love the concept and outcome (minus the words). It's a great idea and happy you are happy with how it came out 💜🖤💜🖤
Hi! I am a new subscriber, and I have been loving that wall since I started watching your videos. So I was excited when YT recommended this one. I LOVE it!! What a clever idea, and it is SO pretty.
Ooohhh I didn't know you could get those cards genius! I'm gonna have to get a pack! They would be great for crafting! I love everything about this so perfect for your space!
this is sooo cool! your videos ALWAYS get me excited to create!! just a thought - you could use a spray paint can w/ matte medium and go over the cards to get rid of the glare, it might look more cohesive as a background for filming. lots of love :)
Hey just curious, I noticed you said the wall dimensions in feet and inches (imperial system) with your accent I assumed you would have done the metric system! Do you typically use the metric system? The result was amazing by the way
I’m English and usually use ft and inches, a lot of people do :) Chloe does live in America, and from what I know, pretty much always has, so it would make sense in that way too
Chloe, I love the way your wall looks. It really turned out fantastic. I did something similar on a much smaller scale, on poster board. I took paint chips I had collected of my favorite colors and glued them on. Love the boxes your chips came in, they would be fun to decorate.
This is a fun idea and looks fab! I’m just worried that the dogs might come in and brush against the wall and knock some down 😩 easily fixable though. I like that it’s not a permanent fixture, if you change your mind and want to reconfigure them into a bear shape, or just want a change in general they’re easy to take down and move. Perfect back drop for an art space 😊
That is gonna be super fun to fill all those holes when the time comes to move 😂 but it is pretty cool. I’d also use one of the half size hammers cause they are lighter weight and easier to use.
LOVE YOUR WORK and IDEAS!!!!!!!!!!!! I have thought about something similar and on a smaller scale with paint stir sticks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe someday i will get to it !!!!!!!!!
Now you have a cool wall AND if you ever need a certain color you can just go up to your wall and find it! Also, when it comes to the series that you were talking about possibly making, where you paint every card one at a time, I would recommend that you leave the first card of that color blank and then paint the six afterwards so you can see what the starting color was for all of them
that is a certifiable amount of crazy right there!!! but in all seriousness, it does look very cool. very well done for sticking with it to the end. my heart felt for you when early on you came back the next day and 90% of the tiles had fallen, you are right that order was just not meant to be.
It looks really cool as a background!! I think if i was to do something like this I would cut the white part of the card with the colour names off. I would personally just prefer a more seamless gradient. It would efinitely require way more cards though.. I would also try to gradiate it diagonally from top left to bottom right - though that would be such a pain in the ass to sort out the cards!
Wow!!! I love this idea and I hope that I have a studio that I can do this to some day! You’re so inspiring and I LOVE THIS!!! I’m currently doing a Pantone postcard series on my channel where I paint pictures on each one! I never thought to do this with them!!! Love!!!
