  • This is a six month compilation, May-October 2023, at my "Moose Cam", aptly named due to the frequency of moose that visit. There's also lots of lynx activity as well as grizzly and black bears, a few wolves, and some snowshoe hares.

    Interesting how they all use the same trails. Scary too for the baby moose’s. Lots of big cats !! 🐱

    The bears never fail at being the most curious and aggressive with the camera. I hope the moose calf survived! Wolves are thriving up there.

    Amazingly beautiful. I'm just amazed by the wildlife there, this is why very large national parks and wild areas must be protected. Amazing the size and variety of animals there.

      Honestly that area might not even be a national park. That could be just an area of the Yukon. A thing you gotta realize that the Yukon is sparsely populated, with a territory the size of the North-Eastern United States holding a population the size of Salem Massachusetts. When Canadians say "No one lives up there" we pretty much mean it, that place is as wild as can be.

    Once again some fantastic footage! This has to be the most absolutely perfect angle location for a trail cam I have ever seen. It trips the sensor at approaching animals soon enough to keep them in the view just long enough to enjoy the clip. But then we get to see a longer view as they walk away from the camera. Believe me I know from experience it is difficult to find such a prefect angle...and a tree to mount the camera on. Having the trail leading to and from the river is also a dream come true as well. You must have been jumping up and down when you first watched the video of that big bull stop and rake the bushes. I know I would have! That's a great bonus! Like Forest Gump says.. you never know what your gonna get! Great Videos! 😊👍

      The key at this spot is that it heads slightly down hill. I have alot of footage that happens more in the open field than walking up the game trail so it's able to sense the wildlife very well.

    What a wonderful show of magnificent creature, I think the UK has the ignominy of being one of the most wildlife depleted countries in the world, so forgive me for being envious, I would love to spend week with my binoculars and spotting scope capturing images for my personal enjoyment, maybe when I’m retired I might get to fulfil that wish, I can never get enough of wildlife watching❤️ thank you for sharing with us interested persons.

    I've always been fascinated by how long the hind legs of lynx are - I wonder if it helps give them leverage to push through snow?

    • @yukonwildlifecams
      @yukonwildlifecams  5 місяців тому

      It aids in walking in the snow and also enables greater jumping ability (or so I've read). It's a clear physiological difference between lynx and bobcats when distinguishing between the two species (though we have no bobcats here)

    Rather surprised that it was over 3 minutes in before a wolf showed up.... then, there were several after that. It's hard to tell for sure, but a couple times I thought I saw a bobcat rather than a lynx. Are there bobcats that far north?

    I want to be an animal. Then I'll get enough attention and even be filmed. As an animal, I will be loved much more and people would look at me. But because I'm human, I'm not interesting to people.
