Don't half miss these Driftworks videos, wish there were more as they are addictive. Keep up the amazing work chaps. Hope that Jay gets paid well though as he gets all the "Pig of a Jobs" to do.........LOL
It's been very busy around here and as usual it's difficult to pick up the camera. We should have a few vids coming up soon though. The next part on the 964 will be live Monday.
any chance of getting posters (metal or printed, either one) of a few of the cars at some point in the future to have as merch? i'd love a 964 metal poster hung up somewhere
I just realized Phil's secret to having his friends work on his cars. Make sure the cars you have are cool as shhhh...lol. Cant wait to see this thing tuned on a modern Haltech!
God I love the look of this car with its wide rear arches!!!! If I won the lottery the first car I would buy is a 911 turbo, similar the the one in Bad Boys!! My dream is to own a Porsche as my Little brother who sadly died at a young age loved Porsche's so It would be great to own one for him.
Love haltech stuff, people love to hate on it but it’s the best all rounder for me, can get plug and play or custom, the install guides are top, support is second to none and it works on the whole GM wiring and sensors so no stupid sourcing of native parts. I once paid similar money and received a “ECU” that was a circuit board you put in your stock case and a good luck note. Most companies in the ECU game seem to be stepping up now though. So how long before you whack a PDM in there
Cheers. The Lambo has been in pieces again while the interior is retrimmed. It's pretty much back together now though and will be heading for Players show next weekend.
The 911 is coming together nicely Phil! I think you should either fabricate or buy some Renline parts for the interior. Needs some nice sheet metal with holes in it lol.
The race team I was on lost a race they were leading when the drive by wire throttle malfunctioned. After that they installed a throttle cable and did away with the drive by wire throttle.
I'd love to be able to play with and own a 964 Promodet engineered RWB fettled Porsche. But you also have a DTM inspired E30 and a V10 M3, Phil do you not pinch yourself sometimes? Your a lucky man. Keep up the great content 🤟
Regarding 1st start - the ecu has to synch to the engine, Pull the fuel pump relay (as you do not want the car to start) and use a timing light on cylinder 1. Crank the engine and adjust ecu timing degrees until the timing mark lines up on the crank. Once timing is set, replace fuel pump relay and attempt to start. If the engine backfires, add 360 degrees to base timing in the ecu as the engine is on the exhaust stroke not compression. Assume this is wasted spark set-up? - Cylinders 1&4 should be driven off the same coil and the cylinder that fires will be on compression stroke...
@@daboy12s That's not how thermodynamics work.. If air flows through pipes (or an intercooler), there will be a pressure loss. Flow however will be the same (at least in steady state).
If you (ground, then) attach a low voltage feed to the other end of each of those "spare" wires in the loom - and keep them looped up - you'll have a full-car distribution of smartphone wireless charging pads for every device you can imagine!!!
congrats on using the haltech honory aussies you are now you just need to buy a turbo barra and get the complimentary vegimite lol cheers from down under
@@driftworks Even better, I'm in Australia so I'll be watching on Sunday hopefully? And moar S15 update content I haven't forgotten that Phill owns one too.
This car is so nice! I mean I hate RWB they're the biggest hacks on the face of the planet. I mean even clinched flares comes with nut serts which RWB doesn't know what those are. But this car has real rear quarters and I love the wheels, what he keeps doing engine wise. The wheels and stance are on point. But get rid of that upper rear spoiler. That's the best rear spoiler the RS 3.8 spoiler. But put the other factory top piece and this cars perfect...! Keep up the great work. My first video on my 135i ///M Sport will be out hopefully tomorrow night, finally! So look out for that! Super low mile...really nice build I've been doing over the last 10 months...👍💯🏁
I think people are going to be less inclined to watch your videos if you’re leaving comments on other peoples videos telling them what they should be doing with their own cars 👍
@@AdamB8791 Oh I don't...! I don't have any videos but I am about to release one . My cars just about finished. I don't care if anyone likes my video. It’s subjective, you may not like the spoiler the way it is but you didn’t pay many pennies for the car, The man clearly cherishes this car and has made the decision to keep it as is. Wiring looks good Jay. When you refit Wiggins couplings lubricant the crap out the O rings when you got to refit then.
Good to see a new post, as you boys seem to have been a bit quiet for a while.
Would love to see some more of the Lambo... Track day perhaps?!

Wiggins fittings are such a pain in the ass but they hold so much pressure for as simple looking as they are. Vanjen clamps are where it's at.
The fact that wiring loom works is a minor miracle considering most of the wires probably looked the same to Jay 😂😂
Genuinely done fantastic job of that.
Great work as always, amazing car. I think we need some Jay Spec official DW Dungarees making up.

Smear o ring grease / Vaseline on orings & the sleeve will slide on & off no problem
I wonder what the pressure drop is between the incoming and outgoing side of the intercooler 🤔

I still do 😄
Hi from Bulgaria coooool 911
Great work
Thanks 👍
Phil, any issues with the eb2 shutting off and on again?
Update on the M3?
No this ones about the Porsche.
There is always something to be said about sorted and labeled wiring harness. What made you decide to go drive by wire with an e46 pedal?
It's an 82mm from a 997GT2, better control over everything the E46 pedal fits with very little work.
Nice upgrades to the beast porsche and the bmw look better with the blue rear bumper. How did the exhaust go?
Cheers. You can see the video about the exhaust here ua-cam.com/video/X1EXnktmsk4/v-deo.html

Coming soon! We're all getting pretty close with our long term projects 👍
Neat stuff, thanks.
Hi,
Why do you prefer Haltech before Motec?
I don't, it just works out as a better choice on this car as we can do all the work ourselves. The Motec on this car was an old very basic M4.
Are you going to use a Haltech Nexxus on the BMW V10?
I've no plan to change the ECU on the V10 M3 at the moment. It has an incredibly posh / expensive Pectel SQM12 ECU & Cosworth Motorsports loom.
@@driftworks I was about to say lol
Tp100: amplifier blown?
How come you went with Haltech instead of a new Motec? Cost?
Just because we know it's a good system and know how to use it.
