Wow, Sid's "sin-sational" here. Always found him devilishly handsome, and so watching him play an urbane villain is definitely a guilty pleasure. As for our former commander in chief -- IM(very humble)O, he was a much better actor in the Oval Office than in Hollywood. Thanks so much for posting. This is really an incredible find.
I do not know about him not being a good actor. He appeared as a the lead in over 50 movies for top studios (Warner Bros. and later Universal as a contract player) and you do not get to stick around in Hollywood that long if you do not have some talent. Some of these films were quite well regarded although he had some bombs too like any other actor. As for GE Theatre, the show was very popular and he had a lot to do with that popularity. It ran for a number of years and he not only hosted the series and narrated but appeared as the lead in many of the episodes. Check out GE Theatre Episode "No Hiding Place" in which he plays a recovering alcoholic. Solid performance as far I am concerned.
Sid Caesar: "All I want is a hunk of cake." This episode of General Electric Theater is hysterical.
The "Gipper" makin' a deal with the devil?! Sounds about right, LOL. Seriously, this is an amazing time capsule. Thanks so much for posting!!
