    Awesome, thanks again, question: Would you use an fx30 for real estate, interior video? To me it seems if you had a fast wide prime with an fx30 it will be the ideal lightweight to have on a pro gimbal. Your thoughts.. Brilliant comparison, I hope more gear youtubers would do professional comparisons as well as you do. Thaks again.

    Bro i got this fx30 pre ordered but until now sony is delaying the release in my location due to their plans coming from the sony dealers. Not sure what that is. I watched Mark Bennett review on a74 apsc mode rolling shutter vs fx30 rolling shutter and it is better than fx30's also in low light. Down side is that it doesn't shoot in 4k120 and no s cinetone (i think). So im losing my taste on fx30 and planning on selling it once i received it. I ordered the one with handle that narrows the price difference on a74 by $140. Though if i just get the no xlr handle then yes it $700 difference. But considering i already have a6600 and saw this video and your motivation about fx30 now I'm beginning to like the fx30 again. 🤣😂 What the heck is wrong with me. 🤣😂 Nice video by the way. You need more subs. Not only your video is informative but also interesting to watch due to funny but true moments. It's like watching a stand up comedy but with some real world mf facts. 🤣😂

    One question I have for you is: do you get light banding when taking photos with indoor artificial lighting with the FX30? Thinking about buying it, but I keep thinking that the a7iv is better since I take photos sometimes and it has a mechanical shutter. But the photos I take are just for social media, so I’m not sure if I can justify the price of the a7iv. Your help would be appreciated!

    Hey Vu! Thanks for another great discussion. I'm getting really bummed about all the grain in my shadows, even when filming on the base ISOs of my fx3. All my tests were indoors and I was using an ND filter (the polar pro one) AND I was exposed 2 stops over on 12800 and still getting grain in the shadows, even after lowering the shadows in post. So I felt I was doing everything right and still grain! The lighting was not terribly dark either. I'm curious if you use an ND filter to help out with exposure or if you just crank the shutter? I'm starting to wonder if my ND is screwing things up.

So if i then put "Log Shooting" into Cine EI, Picture Profiles are completely disabled. Going back (Log Shooting OFF), none of the avialable picture profiles are SLOG 1, 2 or 3. I can only find SLOG 3 under Color Gamut in the Log Shooting menu. I am confused.

      @@nVuFilms I intend to stabilise the footage in Catalyst Browse and ending around 18-20mm. 10-20mm F4 PZ is on my list also, such crazy moves can be achieved on a gimbal. I use Sony Edge software on my phone (gimbal mount) to tap where to focus. From my experience you can get away easier with a lower ISO on wide lenses because details in the frame are smaller (perception). Its a difference having 10 people in frame in lower ISO than having 1 closeup shot of one or two people. On the side i wonder what Blackmagic is doing, they sure got a lot of hits lately fron Sony, Canon, Fuji....they cannot enter the AF game, they dont seem to be able to enter the minimalism game. IThey only have one shot, a box type camera in the style of Komodo, with more DR, less rolling shutter. There is so much silence on the BM forums that you can slice it with a sword...

    • @nVuFilms
      @nVuFilms  2 роки тому +2

      @@cristianmihai4818 when things are so wide like that ... It loses the cinematic look. Because movies don't film on gimbal that wide (that often) I personally gimbal on a 50mm on full frame. Which is 35 on apsc.

    Hey man, great review. Quick question: Does the FX30 have a "Super 35" mode (or rather "MFT mode" then haha). So any FF lens will be cropped like 1.5x due to the APS-C sensor, but can I then punch in further digitally given that the resolution should be enough? So something like the Tamron 70-180 would be something like a 105-270 anyways due to the sensor and then become like a 160-400 after punching in digitally ... that'd be great for static ultra close up angles.

    Examples: Sunsets, blue light/night time street videos, fast vs slow movement and things of that sort.
    Obviously, there's a reason people are buying S IIIs and FX3's and they're not all full frame chest bumping cave divers.

      Hey .. let me tell you something...
      A7SIII and FX3 and FX6 are have a one of a kind sensor than can push ISO limits, but even they will look like shit in uncontrolled lighting.
      Even Hollywood cinema cameras that cost $50k + doesn't handle low light anywhere near the a7siii and not even as good as fx30.
      Thanks for ur viewership but I will not be doing any further " tests " on this matter. Buy it or don't. If u really want to know, rent it and pixel peep it.

    Love your content, but I don't get how you did this ISO test so that all shots are exactly the same looking in brightness and especially Depth of field.. as when you change the ISO you also will need to darken the light or change the f Stop so it looks the same... Did you use NDs or something, as if you change the F stop in correspondence to each ISO shift, the depth of field should change too.. But I don't see a shift in depth of field at all.. If you make the lights all darker with each shift, that would show too different characteristics... But they all look exactly the same. SO, just wondering what you did here to compensate for the ISO changes to make them all look exactly the same? It almost seems like you didn't do an ISO change at all and just changed the label and this entire video is a ruse...

      Shutter speed.

    • @HunterSenftner
      @HunterSenftner 11 місяців тому

      @@nVuFilms thanks for your quick response.. I never thought of changing the shutter speed as that is not a normal thing to do... if you change it to a faster shutter speed, would that not also change the look of the noise too as the amount of motion blur would shift also? I really don't know.. In this test it's just your face moving, thus very little movement .. but a wide shot waving your arms or a car driving would look more staccato than the normal 24fps 48th filmic look.. People are using a high ISO for when it is a low light situation.. not bright lights stopped down with a really fast shutter speed that will change the standard film look motion blur. I don't know if this is really an accurate test of noise levels at high ISO, as people don't shoot high ISO with bright lights on things, unless they really want a staccato look or slow-motion.. What is also interesting is that going from 4000 ISO to 12800 is only 1.66th stop, less than 2 stops difference.. But if you shot the 4000 ISO at 48th you would have to of shot the 12800 at around 128th Im guessing... a different look with moving objects...in most instances people are going to shoot 12800 at 24fps at 48th in a low light situation.
      I do also acknowledge what you stated in the begging of the video, that noise tests on UA-cam are a joke as it compresses things too and changes everything anyway. And that is the entire point you are making.. It don't really matter about any noise, and if people are paying attention to the noise in your video, you made a really boring movie and they are paying attention to noise rather than the content in your film.
