I worked 30 years as industrial maintenance at a refinery, 16 years as maintenance supervisor. And one thing I noticed that makes me feel better is that people don't purposely come to work to fuck shit up and that they also fuck up their own shit too 😂.
From an employer’s point of view , your a dream Your gearing more towards a good motivation video , teaching us how to work thru our problems pleasantly , get it done with a smile
I'm retired was an electrician by trade in USAF, recently I was installing some homemade house shutters on our brick home and was using tapcons, had the right drill bit size etc but some of the tapcons would kind of strip out and not tighten up. I picked up a good hint from you using the wooden dowel in the hole and break it off, great idea. Don't know why I didn't think of that because I had used tooth picks on small wood screws that were stripped out so they would tighten up. Thanks for the info, always learning something from somebody.
Ray, I'm a homeowner of 23 years. I'm not all that handy, but watching videos like yours gives me some "power" to do some things around the house Vs. hiring someone to do small things. I know sometimes doing work around an apartment is similar to doing work around a house, but maybe a few videos of keeping up on house preventative maintenance. Have a great day! Thanks for sharing your work and experience!
Just started an apartment maintenance job and these are super helpful man, keep it up! Would love to see some electrical troubleshooting of some kind. Thanks for all of the information!
Ive done apartment maintenance for bout 7 years now. I got cheap hollow core doors 80" length, i gotta cut 1/2" off top & bottom to keep enough meat on them. Residents dont care, they beat on everything....job security
Did school maintenance for 14 yrs. I like maintenance work, but I have to learn more about AC unit repairs, we always hired out for those jobs so I never got hands on training. Thanks for sharing learning a lot from ya man. Thank you 🙏
I am not used to seeing the wooden dowel used with Tapcons. Generally one just drills a hole 1/16"less and the Tapcons go directly into it. Usually the tapcons are sold with the proper bit inside the package. I enjoy the videos
I definitely need/want to *do* something and as I live in an apartment that needs a hella lot of maintenance ... lol Gonna reframe our exterior door (as well as install a solid oak door) in the spring and see if I can get myself a job as the maintenance guy out here
I believed the same thing as little as a day or two ago when I came across it again. But that got me to googling tonight and finding a LOT of information that doesn't expressly forbid it, with the exception to certain conditions (such as an underground (wet) location. But it's late and there's also people on google that say the earth is flat and this and that so I'll have to go dig around my code book later to see what the heck. I originally thought it was only permitted in like a run up to 6-12 inches.
Good job sir, am doing the same job for about 5 years now and I really want to try my skills in new environments like yours I wish I can have a chance with you or around sir,,
The light fixture that you got the circuit from looked like a property owned night light. Wouldn’t that circuit only be energized at night? If it is for a sump pump then wouldn’t that need to be energized all the time? Enjoy your videos … You have a lot of skills.
So maybe I missed it, but if you tapped into an outside light for the power, the sump pump will only have power when the timer/sensor turns on the outside lights.... correct?
When you were hammering the anchor for the screws. Never seen those can you tell me wha that was. Was that just aluminum tubing and the screw bite into that it looks like it would just spin on you. Thank fo the video. I am a homeowner in Ohio and have a basement.
I usually just put the tapcon right in without anything and If it gets stripped I just put a wire in there. But your way, that tapcon is never going to get loose!
Just started watching your "Day series" and am sure impressed with how your day can go from planned to something out of the box...flea infestation, haha. I usually go into my hobby day knowing I'll be doing drywall or fence post digging or pouring for a concrete slab or fixing a porch beam. I can sure say, you sure are calm about your day. I'd be stressed hoping I would be able to fix such various items within a time frame...would I ever fix it? Would I have the right tool in my truck? Good channel, MAN.
12v is all I run with the exp of my new small 20v cutter "dewalt" I am going to do a tool video next week -- stick around. There's a lot of new things coming in the next week or so
I used to be an apartment manager responsible for maintenance so it’s cool seeing another person’s experience at the job. How long have you been in this line of work? Hope your channel keeps growing! I can already see “cool beans” merch in your future!
32years done everything from maintenance to manager and owner -- been there done it. I'll take this little main-job and slide right into retirement lol
One vid I'd like to see is a turnover. INclude 5 minutes of the painter, a few of the carpet cleaner ,if any, and maybe a minute or two of the maid service. Ansd, of course, whatever maintenance inspection or service you perfrom.

Your videos are a god send. I'm going on 2 years in apartment maintenance. Enjoy the electrical and HVAC videos. Keep them rolling ray
Keep the videos coming, reminds me of when I was in apartment maintenance, I’m now a supervisor for maintenance at a school district.
Ray, keep up the good work! Been doing commercial maintenance for over 35 years. Love your content.
Thanks 👍 I appreciate it
Fun as always. Thx. Watching from Ontario Canada 🎉
Awesome! Thank you!
Enjoying the videos, keep it up, I know it takes time but I appreciate it. Thanks for sharing! Have a blessed day !

No problem, i can do a video on home upkeep
Everyone can be handy, you just need the right tool (or almost right) and some knowledge...
Just started an apartment maintenance job and these are super helpful man, keep it up! Would love to see some electrical troubleshooting of some kind. Thanks for all of the information!
I will try

I have a couple of AC video's. But hand's on is always the best way to learn.
Likely you would have been fired. Can you imagine the liability of kids in a school building with smoke or fire?
I love the tool rules on back of shop door. Peeps finally starting to realize I do not lend tools out anymore. Nice work !
Thanks for watching!
You shouldve stripped the insulation off of the nonmetallic sheathing.
Great video’s…. But putting romex wire in conduit can cause heat buildup… use awg individual stranded wire… keep up the great work !!!
Feel you--- its the cord on the sub pump. Just covering it to keep it from getting damaged from the ground. Only runs when rains
That cat claw is a very versatile tool for you 😂
Every tool has a hammer side
This is better than tv

I dont do maintenance, however that dowel rod trick....holy smokes......im taking that one forward for sure!
😅 i can never get a tapcon to stick so i started doing that -- bet it stays now 🤣 works for anything you need to mount to Concrete.
Hey Ray YOU have to take off the yellow insulation and feed the conductors through the pipe and the L B connector! With out insulation

lights are on all the time

the light's are on 24/7 and their low voltage led light so there no pulling a lot of power so no problem powering pump whin running
Good Job, only one thing, white/silver is not ground but neutral, it's not the same thing.
He knows, he just always says it the wrong way lol...

wood dowel rod -- its just wood, it fills in the hole so you can put a screw into it .
More dog views, please. New viewer.🐶

My new video was trash after i finished it so i have to redo b it 🙃
I use a match stick if it's loose,
I was taught to put a couple pieces of scrap wire in there as well especially for outdoor use.
Keep up the good work. I like the new format you got.
So you think i should keep doing the day 1-2-3-4 ? Any other suggestions for the video's?
What kind of anchors are those
Love that trick for brick. What about attaching to stucco?
It should work

Thank you for the video!
My pleasure!
I'm surprised you don't have a bulk spool of wire to pull from instead of buying for each repair.
work with what I have
Good job!!
Thanks!
How do you like those 12v tools? 2:44 maybe do a review on them.

Looks like you mis-drilled the holes on the outlet box.
I have no interest doing any of that but I do enjoy watching your videos just recently bump into your channel also what is that thing on your hat
Thanks for subscribing-- its a wireless mic
Great work ray do you do any drywall repairs or finishes? Or rough and finish carpentry? I'm Really enjoying the content!

What State are you located?
ohio
I’m just curious, what state do you reside in?
Ohio
Did the boss lady question you for filming? Do they know you do it?
She know I video working in units for surety and how to videos --- aka so people can't say I did something or took something
What are your tattoos of?
