Niko Luengo "cuentista" actually means "storyteller", the Spanish in this game is sometimes a little...off. For "accountant" (which I guess you meant) it actually translates to "contador".
Still, the pellets don't disappear in mid air. And the spread hasnt got a diameter of 1-2m at a range of 10m. Shotguns in games are always bullshit, which is sad... Even though i gotta say they are ok in wildlands. I was kinda suprised about them.

I just started playing Ghost Recon and noticed the Super Shorty has tighter spread pattern then the long double barrel in Farcry 5.
It seems that at some point in videogaming history there must been a conference where developers reached wide agreement that shotguns should all behave like the bubble rifle from contra. The reality is probably that it is a weird holdover from old shooting games like Doom where engagement distances where seldom further than across the room.

I watched this video and jumped in the game to see if this had been fixed sometime in the last 4 months. As far as damage, it seems that ALL shotguns are now ridiculously OP, and are excellent for dealing with vehicles. Even the Super Shorty can now one shot an Armored SUV. It remains a very short range weapon compared with the El Cuentista.
Haha, I’m gonna go with the 2nd one (the “special” one) being the one that’s off. Blasting a truck from that distance- but especially blasting a helicopter out of the sky at that distance- doesn’t seem normal for that tiny shotgun... and hitting the concrete wall at 135m is insane, haha. Good stuff dude.
The stats are right mate, all with same ammo the other super shorty would be more powerful but it's the SHELLS your using in the El Cuesta that makes all the difference.

The SR 25 Jungle is overlooked a lot too. It one hits any air vehicle, and has an unpredictable 1-2 hit kill with infantry. Not to mention 20 rounds of carnage.
@Darkdally I think Ubisoft fixed this in their Special Operation 4 update. I tested it out again both in Tier 1 mode (rank 1 extreme difficulty) and regular mode extreme difficulty, and in both modes, it took about 4 shots or more to completely destroy any vehicle. *UPDATE* So turns out what I said before was just a multiplayer glitch. I tried it out in single player and it still one-shots anything. I feel like I'm gonna be forced to use a grenade launcher whenever I'm playing with someone else just to make sure that I can actually efficiently destroy vehicles. (Although I've seen that other video where you shot an apache 3 times with the M203 and it still didn't do shit, which... again.... BULLSHIT UBISOFT XD)

wildlands damage model takes into account distance traveled by projectile, objects in the way that slow the bullet, speed of the bullet, silencers attached to the weapon and many more, so fieldtests like how many shots to kill a pickup truck may have slight inconsistencies. Hey dark I think the reason for it doing more damage than the normal shortly is the guy you get it from uses special shells in it in the game. So the gun probably reflects that. It’s probably the range on the red one that’s bugged maybe not the damage
I just received the “Ice Shard” in a red loot crate. It’s a pump action from the “Yeti” dlc. It can’t be customized. I haven’t looked to see if it is a Mossberg 590 or Remington 870.
I have used this since I unlocked it. You can snipe ppl down helicopter blow up cars in one shot up to 120 yards.... I think it has been nerfed though. Its lvl 1 and now it wony do it. I ran this shotty with the unidad RPK... Super cool setup.... try it!!!!
The super shorty has glitched stats. The super shorty on Ghost War has very high damage and 2 shots players, but like you said in the video it has "super short range".
Well, and I know it's late, the predator isn't killed by damage. It's by how many times it engages you and just how many bullets hit it. Damage is irrelevant in the mission

First time I got it before interrogating the commander for location of the lovers I alerted the base and allowed them to enter the ground floor the first guy up the steps flew and his batches ran for cover it was funny with me firing one then reloading to reduce time.
That is absolutely insane. I can imagine some good loadout with that and an AR/Semi auto sniper. Btw do you plan on doing fallen ghosts weapon testing now that they added them? From what I seen the MDR is just a reskinned Tar21. And the R4 galil claims it has a faster RoF lmao. Might be fun

In narco culture the big players hire celebrity performers to write songs about them in a legendary over the top way. It’s like a comic book in music about the fast drug life. If you know Spanish narcocoridos are awesome. The lore on this weapon says it belongs to one of these performers so I think it could have other worldly powers. Like supernatural damage. This kind of people are very into charms and prayers for help in the drug life.
After watching this video the other day, I busted it out. Wow. It is out of control. I had three other guys using it to beat the Yeti the other day. We laughed for an hour. Calling in pickups and blowing them up with one shot from 100m. This thing rocks. Now I am worried they will fix the mistake. Rock on!
Hey guys, I leveled this glitched hot pink shotgun to damage level 30 in Tier 1 and then used it on the Predator at closer range, I'd have to say that I think that it took a lot less hits to take him down than it would normally take when I use my LVOA-C Bad News (which is also at damage level 30).

Which in its description accurately states half burned like its owner whereas El Cuenista belongs to the corrido performer who's name eludes me and if memory serves it's only the text on who it's rewarded from that is bugged but it may be that the weapons are rewarded in reverse.
I think the answer is both. The standard should be able to hit a little bit further but the red one shouldn't be able to take out a car from the distance seen at about 5:25. "I Don't know which one is glitched" Probably the one that can shoot over 130 meters. :/
i would say not to treat it like a crutch because even at 500m, in tier 1 mode, enemies can still melt you with 1-2 shots even when quickly poking your head out of cover
Shotguns are high velocity weapons probably higher then snipers so i would expect the pellets to hit a target more then idk 12 yards but the pellets will spread and slow down a bit so i wouldn't say its glitched. But destroying the engine of a armored APC either it is glitched or it has Flechette ammo.(Talking about both Super Shortys)
You know, this thing is very similar to the Destroyer from Watch Dogs. 2 round mag. For a sawed off shotgun it has sniper like range. And it out performs the fucking HTI Desert Tech for 1 shotting an armored vehicle.
I wonder if different gauges shoot different ammo like bird shot to buck shot to slugs. slugs with 4 buck shot beeds and I'm sure there's even more dangerous rounds
I use it only because I don't like wearing two main guns at once even I don't play Ghost mode and this one is... short. So it don't break my immersion and I even never used it.
my experience was that a sawed off m870 actually is very dangerous and eficient up to 40-50meters distance, the standard shorty is way to underpowered and the red one is way to overpowered. Lets talk about killing cars if you take it realistic enough you wont be able at all, no mater what shotgun you use, to kill any car because standard 12gauge buckshot has to less pierce to damage any metal components from a motorblock or things like that, on the other side. Tank and wateringsystems as well as forniture may be totaly shredded.
you don't expect a sawed off shotgun to hit a wall 30m away? Look thru a pipe of a similar length, what you can see thru that hole represents the maximum spread pattern. These wide cones shotguns fire in games is fantasy.
Yeh the Spas 12 etc will have more damage stats as it's NOT the gun that makes the power, it's the exploding shells El Ways uses and you pick them up! In essence if you put the El Way shells in the super shorty (Black) then it would damage the same as El Cuentista!
I know it's pretty irrelevant, but I hate that the units of measure in this game are so off. For example, those 33m was definitely not 100ft away from you. It's small but it bothers me a ton

I'd say the super shorty is the one glitched, shot gun balls go really far, even from a short barrel. It's range is WAY too short

El Wey's coin shot loads were pretty good.
the reason why el Cuentista is so bad ass it's because it uses special ammo: one of the El Wey missions explains that detail, actually.

Maybe El Cuentista meant to be an M79 but never changed the stats after the devs chose not to include ranged explosive weapons?
You don't even have to aim, that's the crazy part! So long as it's in the crosshairs, that vehicle or person is done

Lets talk about killing cars if you take it realistic enough you wont be able at all, no mater what shotgun you use, to kill any car because standard 12gauge buckshot has to less pierce to damage any metal components from a motorblock or things like that, on the other side. Tank and wateringsystems as well as forniture may be totaly shredded.
you don't expect a sawed off shotgun to hit a wall 30m away? Look thru a pipe of a similar length, what you can see thru that hole represents the maximum spread pattern. These wide cones shotguns fire in games is fantasy.
tjakal a short barrel significantly reduces the power of the bullet though
So what happens if the cartel guy shoots you with this gun? Automatic death bypassing your recovery even if you have 2 recoveries?

Good catch. Been looking for a new gun to use.
All the shotguns except El Cuentista have that same terrible range. Bullets disappear entirely and have no effect after that distance.
cyphre wilderness gun still kills at like 50 meters
Damn it, why did they have to take the range down on El Cuenista? That sucks.
Edit: it seems to still work in Tier mode.
Yeh the Spas 12 etc will have more damage stats as it's NOT the gun that makes the power, it's the exploding shells El Ways uses and you pick them up! In essence if you put the El Way shells in the super shorty (Black) then it would damage the same as El Cuentista!
I know it's pretty irrelevant, but I hate that the units of measure in this game are so off. For example, those 33m was definitely not 100ft away from you. It's small but it bothers me a ton
