1:38 now THIS model is cool! If I was the builder, I would put some sort of plastic shroud around the boat to make it so it could actually float without any issues. That tractor is also really neat.
I always look forward to seeing films from this event. Nice to see the old No4 set Traction engine and the No 6 Racing Seaplane - they were in the manuals for several decades - and the No 8 Lifeboat and tractor. I made that one myself a few years back. Loved the Shay. the Duchess, the blocksetting crane and the big floating crane, though that took a minute to work out what it was! Have just built the Morgan sports car with Magic Motor (October 1960 MM) but can't find the key!
How were Meccano parts fitted onto the mounting boards (sheets) at the factory, with thin wire or with string? Was the wire/string continuous throughout all parts or were similar parts wired/strung to a board/sheet independently from other similar parts?
when i see modeling at this level, i just sit back and smile .
