Some of these bits send me straight down Memory Lane! I recall with particular pleasure the gearwheels set; a smallish box but with big possibilities.. The parents used to get fed up with my using pencil graphite to lube the worm gears &c.. An amazing collection here! ⭐👍
Looking good mate, loving the stop motion and sound effects. With just getting ready to move and packing up, I can say I don't have a 'collecting' problem with meccano, I can stop any time I want, just not right now.
Hey thanks for tuning in. Uh, yeah, ahem speaking of that 'collecting' problem. Let's just say this wasn't my ENTIRE set, but pretty darn close... My next video may have a few collectors parts that you may recognize.
That's a great video, must have taken hours! I have built up a pretty big collection of mostly Binns Road MRMG over the last few years. Where are you? I'm in Los Angeles.
I'm pretty happy with the collection, there will be many builds coming. Cool to hear from a fellow American. I'm in Utah, so not too far. Would you say you have more parts than shown here?
I would love to put together something like that. I have basic material from Mechanix series from India. Good source of not too costly meccano material in India.
Yeah I'd say brand doesn't mater so much as long as you can build what you want. For a long time I thought Meccano was called Erector Set since I'm from the states. Took me a while to learn where the good stuff comes from. I will say Meccano provides the best quality. If you can find an auction on ebay or some of the other sites setting second hand collections I'd say it's worth every penny to start that way. I'm lucky to have come across the many Meccano sets second hand!
Thanks for tuning in. It will be this year I'm thinking if I can find the time! Give me a few weeks to start on it I'm actually pretty curious to see what's inside my self. :)
Great video production!! Major maccano envy over here! 😂 I noticed you keep your maccano separate from the Gilbert…. Do you intermix them on a build or keep them completely separate?
They do fit nicely together. Keeping them separate seems like the right thing to do! If I find myself in a technical bind with something mechanical I'm not afraid to substitute a part or two.
Caution! Although many parts are compatible, the US and UK nuts and bolts are different. They look similar, but not similar enough. Keep them separate!
That's starting to get quite substantial now.
You have way more patience than me with the amount of work that video just took you.
Indeed.
Six months of patience.
I have a Meccano building box that I share with my family, I’m new to Meccano and I already know that it’s fun
Thanks for watching. I'll be having a building contest video soon, you should join!

Thanks for watching! There's a certain nostalgia when playing with Meccano especially the gears. Too funny about the pencil graphite!! =D
That is definitely a lot more than what I have.
I'm a very lucky person to come across some good second hand sets!
Thanks for tuning in!

@@meccanoman sounds good, I am glad they have gone to a good home, and will get used.

When are you going to start work on that AC Gilbert electric motor? I have quite an interest in that.

@@ianellis5109 yup! Found that out, fortunately not the hard way. Thank you!
I'll have all of your erector gears if you don't want them!
Yeah right!
Not very impressive.
Well, let's see your set then.
