Well, I'm impressed you hit the board from distance. My shoulder is so shot, I would have to wait till they charged me, then give them an uppercut with it....No way I could even toss it that far probably!
I think that's actually the purpose, based on Cold Steel's demo. It's supposed to be thrown as a blunt weapon, and not for sticking. As long as you throw it in the right direction, it will do damage no matter how it hits. Sticking it is actually more impressive and would be icing on the cake. I just ordered one so I'm excited to test it out.
Haha ! I am knitting with carbon fibre stainless steel tipped knitting needles as I watch this. Maybe someday when SHTF I will get a chance to use them for more then hand knit socks.
If a person is skilled in throwing these torpedo's, I can see multiple reasons to use something like these torpedo's as opposed to a gun. If a person has experienced real combat in certain environments, and is tactical minded this tool could be a life-saver! If not skilled with the torpedo it could be your worse enemy. Two pounds of steel at 20 to 30 feet would go halfway threw a person. I'll stick with a 22 for small game and AR-15 or 30-30 rifle for larger game. However there are more uses for a sharp knife!
My question is , is the size and weight really necessary? As far as the throws go, i would imagine that the farther away you go, the more your throuwing technique and force must be changed. Thats just my two cents. Thanks for sharing. I might try to make one of them .
I've bought enough stuff after watching your videos, and of course that's a compliment. But yeah my shoulder was hurtin a bit after watchin you Chuck that thing! I'll probably get it
My guess is this should be done as a half spin throw and stick. It has way too much mass and rotational energy to stick without wanting to keep rotatating and pop out. Scientifically speaking of course.
Even though it didn't stick every time trust me its still gonna give a bad guy a big wallop and ruin his whole month!!!!! Good video gonna have to order one of those..
That's a nasty flesh eating device.. I have made many of them but would like to buy the cold steel one... I have made then out of 1040 steel that I harden after forming it... It is a hell of a weapon huge weight and penetration.
Use it like a throwing stick. Our ancestors killed small game with them and people still do. I don't see how this wouldn't be an improvement over stick.
If I'm going to lug around a 2 lb chunck of steel for defense it's either going to go bang or have a long sharp blade.... Oh yeah, both are illegal to carry in my state, maybe there's something to this afterall? Lol
Nice show and tell there Brian if it was a pound or less you would have stuck it 2 pounds is way heavy but I see your point if you throw it at an animal 🦒 😂🤣 it would stun it or ⚰️ 👍👌✌️🇺🇸
Another thing we are not allowed. Thank you Australian government for putting all Aussie citizens the same basket as the small percentage of idiots who usually have been put back in to our communities by our legal and metal health system to repeat the same offence's.

if you chunked that thing at an "enemy" it wouldn't matter if it stuck in just getting hit with 2lbs of iron flying at speed should do the trick.
Rabbits... one hit...gumbo!😂
@@tikkidaddy it'll be squirrel season soon here in East Texas , I expect ill be making gumbo pretty quick !
@@thehairywoodsman5644 Oh maaaan! Squirrel and sausage gumbo!😍😍 Ill cook some rice and chunk a roux in de cast iron and into de oven!😂
that is why the hi-point is the best hand gun after ammo is out it makes a good club or projectile itself ;)

I didn't know Chuck Norris had his own line of knitting needles.🤣
That's his toothpick.....
.....He knits with live cobras.

bonus to the cold steel torpedo is no matter how it lands on the target it is going to do damage anyway blunt or penetration either way all good ;)
Your an honest man, thank you. And thanks for putting the whoop whoop whoop in science, very nice
there is a mini version of this , should be easier to get distance with.
Whether it would stick or not, getting hit with 2 pounds of metal would hurt
Last time I was hitting with the 2 lb stick who was in a prison shower it taught me not to drop the soap again
@@kibakiobama8653 2 lbs ??? Must have been Bubba.
Cool and fun video but what would be the “ real world “ use for that ?
Awesome , different concept still looks like fun
But can it strike a ferro rod?

Over Thinking ,practice makes Perfect.
I like that you showed all the misses, I subscribed!
Please,Are Cold Steels the best throwing knives?
Cold Steel Pro Flight Sport are superb I went from zero to hero with these in less than a week of practise I highly recommend them
Cold Steel products are among the best values for anything they make, knives, swords, spears, whatever.
Its a good work out.
You gotta stick that long shot and document it in the future. Cool video.
Holy smokes I have seen this online and I never expected it to be that big. That thing is massive! I might have to get one now
They have a mini version now, should check it out
bout the same price i beieve
Could you throw it like a football spiral no spin?
I wonder if I still have mine somewhere....
My question is , is the size and weight really necessary?

Thanks for sharing , God bless !
I do no spin with those the balance is not as good as throwing knives but that's okay you can throw up to 5-7 meters without problem.
Cool, love it when you balance test things
This made me smile. Thanks!
You should try the mini, Bryan. Half the weight, but just as much fun. Useful for hunting as well. A pound of steel upside the head is no joke.
I've bought enough stuff after watching your videos, and of course that's a compliment. But yeah my shoulder was hurtin a bit after watchin you Chuck that thing!
I'll probably get it
Down here in fla the skeeters are big and bad.... With all the water coming down and standing all over they are just flat outta control.
I have 4.
Can you baton with it?

Ninja Brian :)
What is the target made of
regular old 2x6s on a 2x4 frame. Not the best for throwing but easily restorable.
HA HA good one ! ! Even if it doesn't stick it would sure would knock some body of there feet ! !
“WAABoopBoopBoopBoopBoop”
It really works 😆
Can it make curls and strike a fero rod that is the question of the hour LOL
Hey y’all, hope you’re having a great day and God bless😊🙏🏼❤️
I want to learn how to throw knives !🥶🔥
Even though it didn't stick every time trust me its still gonna give a bad guy a big wallop and ruin his whole month!!!!! Good video gonna have to order one of those..
Try the mini torpedo next week, for the sake of your arm
Balanced or Not, it looks like it would hurt. 2lbs of 1055 steel to the head, probably not gonna matter whether it sticks or not LoL.
Yep
i had some of those they are hard to sfick
Have you tried throwing it like a spear?
That's a nasty flesh eating device.. I have made many of them but would like to buy the cold steel one... I have made then out of 1040 steel that I harden after forming it... It is a hell of a weapon huge weight and penetration.
Fun
The scientific process works! That thing looks fun to toss
Use it like a throwing stick. Our ancestors killed small game with them and people still do. I don't see how this wouldn't be an improvement over stick.
Even if it didn't stick, 2 lbs of stee
but does it strike a fire steel?!!?! lol
If I'm going to lug around a 2 lb chunck of steel for defense it's either going to go bang or have a long sharp blade.... Oh yeah, both are illegal to carry in my state, maybe there's something to this afterall? Lol
I would not even consider lugging this around for defense. It’s just for fun
Nice show and tell there Brian if it was a pound or less you would have stuck it 2 pounds is way heavy but I see your point if you throw it at an animal 🦒 😂🤣 it would stun it or ⚰️ 👍👌✌️🇺🇸
That type of throwing device requires a straight throw, not a flipping throw. This is why you where having such difficulties. My 2 cents 🙂
So, if you miss, haven't you armed your opponent?
Another thing we are not allowed. Thank you Australian government for putting all Aussie citizens the same basket as the small percentage of idiots who usually have been put back in to our communities by our legal and metal health system to repeat the same offence's.
📌📌📌Skip the first 3 minutes of RAMBLING & let's get down to the TESTING.🆗🔪🔪🔪🔪🔪
Shoot that thing out of one of those 3 person 500' range balloon slingshots!
Really cool thing that would be a toy for me. LOL
2 lb throwing knife. Ill pass
The weight and functionally of this tool is just bunk. Fun to goof around with but not practical at ALL. 😂 Waste of money IMO.
What's wrong with fun?
@@SurvivalOnPurpose Nothing at all. 😄😄👍👍
No spin method would work awesome for this
It might
