Some cars will burn through more oil as they age..it’s just what happens. It doesn’t necessarily mean you need a bunch of extra oil changes, but you might want to keep a jug in the car to top off on occasion..but yeah it’s good to keep up with oil changes, that’s your home, girl! 🥰
All of these comments have been so helpful! Never had to take care of a car like this... now I have to go get some oil to keep on hand & learn how to fill up 😅
@julia_dutra keep it full but also do oil changes sooner, the engine you have is direct injection and oil buildup from dirty oil will cause your timing chain to slip and your engine alone is around 5000 dollars to replace not including the 8 or 9 hours labor at 140 ish dollars an hour. Extra oil changes are much cheaper.
Barbecue beans. I used to work at the university of Tennessee. My grandfather did the neon sign on top of the Peabody. A big gust of wind came off the river and knocked him off the building . Sadly he passed away the week I was born. But he saw me. Blues is nice. But glad you are going, I don’t feel a young lady is safe. Sorry! But you saw good stuff. Ate good barbecue.
I suggest checking the oil level every week or so, and I also suggest carrying a quart of oil with you so you can top it off if it's low. Buy the viscosity that matches what is on your oil cap
You want to be sure to check your oil at least once a week in these older high mileage vehicles. Its more important to top off the oil, adding a quart as needed, over full oil changes more frequent than 5000 miles apart because you're already burning/ leaking oil and adding new at a faster rate. You can use the cheapest brand of whatever grade you need. You'll be good as long as you keep an eye on it! Safe, blessed and happy travels!
Next time you're through Memphis, check out The Bar-B-Q Shop in Midtown. The Commissary is my number two choice, though. You also should check out more things in Midtown and East Memphis. Downtown is more touristy. P.S. we're a pork city, so brisket isn't what I would recommend. If you head to Texas, that's where you get brisket. Memphis definitely isn't the safest place, but there are better areas than Downtown with plenty more to do and see. (Zoo, parks, museums, galleries, etc.) Hope your time wasn't too terrible!
You must look at your oil when your on a flat surface, and have been stopped for at least half a hour, every thats every week , same with raradiator water level ,there's a overflow bowl with marks on it, keep the water above the minimum at the least, and ( do not ) open the filler on the radiator when its still hot , same with tyres look and check the pressure around once a week , maintenance is not once every 5000 miles its weekly.
Girl, you got lucky on that one and caught it in the nick of time. Oil levels are very important. And I dont know if you were being funny or you knew their is a "Walking in Memphis" song. I cracked up when you said it. Well,be safe and have fun. Your inching towards the warmer weather hopefully! ✌️
You're in the second person to mention this song... I'm gonna have to give it a listen because I've never heard of it 😂 And definitely gonna check up on my oil more often. Heading to warmer weather soon :)
@julia_dutra ...well the song came out in 1991. So it's a little dated, lol. Did you ever think of going to Elvis' Graceland while in Memphis? Be safe out there and have fun!🙂
@@ElMarco48 I forgot to mention that I've been to Memphis before (~10 years ago) and visited Graceland then! But definitely something cool for anyone heading out there to check out.
Hi Julia. Good to see you moving along. And yea it’s nerve racking for sure to have issues with your vehicle, especially out on the road. Great you found someone honest to inform you of the issue. I make it a habit to look the vehicle I’m traveling in each time I approach it. Look underneath for fluids that may have leaked out, look at the tires, things like that. Love the Christmas tree, and BBQ Brisket in Memphis, made me hungry lol. Your heading my way now. I’m in Oklahomie lol head out next month. Be safe 👍🏻✌🏻
Cool...but places like Memphis are not exactly a great nice city. Suggest no negatives about your visits. Great BBQ, cute ducks, Elvis, cool place etc Suggestions
Hopefully there will be no more issues with the car, i bet getting those new tyres was like buying a new pair of shoes. When you said that you didn't want to 'walking in Memphis' it took me back to a song from my childhood with the same name. So what was the reason for changing the channel name, you didn't say.
I talked about the name change in the video just before this one, uploaded 2 days ago! Essentially: I felt like I outgrew "Small Pocket Big World", which was originally intended for blogging. Now I just want to go by my name :)
Listen Memphis is a dangerous city. I know all about Memphis. Go out to Collierville east of Memphis next time you are in Memphis. Collierville is safe . I lived in Collierville 25 years. They have a beautiful library. Parks are nice too. Just sleep on a side street.

If you idle a lot you should do your oil changes more frequently. I think it’s like 1 hour of idle is like 35 miles of use.
Check your oil every 500 mi. It dosen't take long and can save you thousands of $.
Yup, gonna start doing this!
Just check your oil and fill it more often. You might have a small leak or go thru it faster than most cars.

Yayyy another uploadddd
Surprise double upload week :)
Those Sienna's run through some tires smh. Don't ask me how I know 😒 lol
Whoa oil light flashing is crazy 😳. I hope ur engine not toast.
I hope not either... it has not flashed since. Have to be better about car maintenance 😅
