Dr. Festus used to be a Doctor of the Empire who sought to cure all of the dieases of the world, but now he is just adding more of them to the world after going mad for trying to accomplish an impossible task and in his despair became a Champion of Nurgle.
If you can’t beat’em, join’em.
@@jb-wc1hx Granted Nurgle was causing him to go mad, but yeah pretty much.
Azazel is really old; in fact, he is as old as Sigmar himself. Not only that but Azazel was once friends with Sigmar and Sigmar was going to marry Azazels' sister. But prior to the friendship, Azazel lost his brother and he blamed Sigmar for it, and he didn't think that he would genuinely end up as a friend to him, which almost made him reconsider his plans to get revenge on Sigmar. But one day, he ended up being visited by the Dark Powers and Slaaensh was then able to corrupt Azazel and have him go into madness, where he then killed his own sister and then stabbed Sigmar a fatal blow. Azazel then traveled to Norsca where he would then be renamed as Azazel for it was not his original name. He then eventually became a Champion of Slaanesh and then ascended as a Daemon Prince and with that ascension he gained the title of Prince of Damnation. For it reflected his ability to literally be able to seduce pretty much anything and anyone, not even Champions of Khorne or Bretonnian Grail Knights are able to resist Azazel's charms. And it is said that Azazel's beauty is second only to Slaanesh itself.
And yet he's nowhere near the oldest playable character in TWW :D
Isn't there also theories to believe he may have helped the first Everchosen as well? Azazel is barely known or remembered, which kinda fits with how old he is and likely the Empire wants to forget about him, but before Archaon actually came about as the ultimate enemy of Sigmar with End Times, Azazel is likely more of a personal threat to the Empire throughout history and the most hated of them.
That is a really interesting fact, thank you my friend
Vilitch the Curseling is the Champion of Tzeentch and just to let you know the thing that looks like it is attached to the warrior's back is actually Vilitch, and the warrior body is his twin brother whose brain could best be described as dead or nonexistent, because Tzeentch had Vilitch be fused to his much stronger and healthier brother and in the process of the fusion Vilitch's brother's personality was wiped or absorbed by Vilitch's.Think of Vilitch as essentially a parasite that gets all the gains as well as controls the actions of the host.
He also has the best trailer of the 4.
Actually it was all a big troll by Tzeentch because the big bro was made smart as well, he was just baiting his backpack bro all this time.
@@delivererofdarknessshoguno1133 More like after sometime during the End Times.
It was also the fact that Vilitch prayed to Tzeentch saying that he wanted his brother's strength, that led to them being conjoined.
Valkia the Bloody can best be described as Khorne's waifu, because Khorne himself actually really really really likes Valkia to the point that this one time in the Lore of Warhammer Fantasy, when Valkia died on the battlefield, Khorne was so rageful that Valkia died that he yelled her back to life. Also, Valkia while being a Half-Daemon, can be considered as the first instance of a well-known Daemon Princess or can be considered as one. Also, she hates Slaanesh Daemons, Champions, and Cultists, for one of Slaanesh's Daemon Princes once tried to seduce her, but she responded by beating him up and then adding the greatest insult to him by not killing him but instead turning him into her shield that she uses in battle to this day.
Wait, after cut off that Slaanesh Daemon head Valkia was going to give it as a tribute to Khorne but fallen in her way there. It was Khorne himself who turn that daemon head into her shield while he raise Valkia back to life, in which that's why she look closely to a Winged Blood-letter in Armor.
@@mr.bluefox3511 I am right sort of, but I didn't include all of the details because I was summarizing her lore, it would take awhile to put in every single detail into a comment.
@@mr.bluefox3511 Plus it has been a while since I have actually read and heard her lore, so there is that.
A good thing to note is there's also conflict between her book and what GW presents, which is a shame. Such as in the novel she's supposed to ascended to daemonhood but it's not represented by the army book, TT rules or even in Total War, and ofcourse GW and army book lore comes before novels.
Just wanted to mention it as it's often brought up by someone eventually or questioned when reading up her wiki lore. It's a shame, as personally I feel her becoming a daemon princess fits so well and that GW is doing a blunder not going with it. It feels weird for Khorne's favorite champion and waifu essentially, brought back to life, only to make her a heavily mutated mortal that can die again.
Maybe Khorne really likes the risk of it? But then why get so mad to resurrect her? Why even grant any Khorne champion daemonhood at all? There no real explanation to why in lore, so personally I prefer the novel's portrayal, despite not being fully canon.
@@prinstyrio0 It might be more so because they are not exactly sure what a Daemon Princess of any of the Ruinuous Powers or Chaos Undivided would look like or how they should design them.
"Its interesting how the chaos factions fight each other" People who don't know: "This is madness!" People who know: "This is Politics!"
Woke vs non- woke
It's not "the big burly character" who has been corrupted by Tzeentch. The big 5-eyed brute is named Thomin, and Vilitch is his brother, the deformed guy on his back. Thomin was strong and popular, and Vilitch was weak and despised, so Vilitch prayed to Tzeentch to have his brother's strength, so Tzeentch answered by fusing Vilitch to Thomin and making Thomin his puppet.
Also, the reason Valkia's shield has a face is because it is made from the still sentient head of a greater daemon of Slaanesh she slew, who now has the task of being hit in the face for her.
I only just now realized that all 4 of the chaos champions have two or even three "creatures" representing them. Azazel has his twin snake tail, Festus his little blue buddy, Vilitch and... his brother, Valkia and her shield.
Haha, never thought of that, it's funny when you mention it. Atleast the 3 without Azazel as far as I know were meant as a "mortal monogod characters" themed line, dunno who Slaanesh really was. Sigvald I believe? That said Azazel taking the spot fits coincidentally with the little companions.
When you said it's interesting Chaos is fighting each other, there's a meme I saw that described it perfectly. Chaos is like the Middle East, you know they have something in common, but they fight each other as much as they fight everyone else.
All of these Heroes are characters from the books of the Warhammer Fantasy novels. There designs are also sometimes depicted on the tapestries that used to be hung up on the walls as you went up into the Game Hall. All of these characters represent the highest aspects are each Dark power, with the classic that the Chaos Gods will fight amongst themselves to become the most powerful when they have no other foe to play with.
Today is the day. Immortal Empires is upon us!
6:43 Slaanesh: "That can be arranged"
Darth Plagueis was a Dark Lord of the Sith, so powerful and so wise he could use the Force to influence the midichlorians to create life… He had such a knowledge of the dark side that he could even keep the ones he cared about from dying. The dark side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural. He became so powerful… the only thing he was afraid of was losing his power, which eventually, of course, he did. Unfortunately, he taught his apprentice everything he knew, then his apprentice killed him in his sleep. Ironic. He could save others from death, but not himself.
slaneshii dude was one of Sigmar's companions who tried to kill him. yeah kinda important guy
Your face when you saw Vilitch XD
Bro Festus’s neck IS THE BEARD! He is the ultimate neck beard!
If you are worried about bugs in IE, trust me it is very very good. Have played 2 campaigns so far and have not really seen any notable bugs, just tiny stuff. All my friends have experienced the same! There really was no need to call it a beta even in my opinion it is fantastic. The only major thing is that the Difficulties are sort of different/bugged, the AI is way more careful and does not expand nearly as fast on harder difficulties compared to normal difficulty (Have played on legendary, and the AI does seem a little more passive but they are kinda smarter than i remember in wh2, while on normal the AI is expanding stupidly,) tho this could be intentional from CA people are reporting it as a bug.
7:52 he’s not a neckbeard, he he’s a fleshbeard
You are most wise to wait for mortal empires and its patching.
Total Warhammer is a strange beast. Really sucks to lose a long campaign to a bug.
Ill be sure to watch your playthrough.
i have to agree with the people that don't like the skavens fight with chaos, that simple don't make sense.
just watch book of choyers explinations of these champions
I always thought they were a mix of 2 god powers.
Yey
Hope the games offers a different ending for Fantasy than that godawful "End of times" books
