Japanese music was not made with global expansion in mind. Japanese culture has long been enjoyed within Japan, and then the rest of the world discovered it and found it interesting, and it spread. In the old days, it was culture such as ukiyoe. The spread of SNS has made Japanese music, such as that of Babymetal, more accepted around the world, which is a joy to see from a Japanese perspective. There are many unique bands in Japan, and I am sure you will never be bored in the future!😁
When you checked out the PV of that new song by Maximum the Hormone, I believe it was just after they released all the lyrics (both Japanese and English) for their project. I watched your reaction video at that timing with great interest, but also with some concern. Needless to say, Japan and other countries have different cultures and national ways of thinking that have been cultivated up to that point.I hope their message is not too serious for you. I can say unequivocally that they are in no way speakers for any political organization, and I believe that they did not produce these lyrics with that intention. In their project, vocalist Ryo said that the theme of this song is "the America we admire, but because of that, it also includes a bit of jealousy toward America. I think it is just the opposite of Green Day's "American Idiot". 私の意見は以上になります。 私も大好きなマキシマム・ザ・ホルモンの曲を聴いてありがとうございました。 日本から貴方にリスペクトを送ります。 That's all for my opinion. Thank you for listening to my favorite Maximum the Hormone song. I send my respect to you from Japan.
I love this song and video. I love the they put all kinds of genre in a song and you never know what is coming. alot of Japanese bands mix genres in their songs.
Love it . Your enthusiasm is infectious. Koi no translates to "love of" . The music is a tribute it a lot of american music styles and bands and yes that is a Pantera tribute . Look at the guitar Rio changes to part way thru. It look like dimebags. LOL if you read the lyrics in that parts he is sing a recipe for something? . But the lyrics are about all the good and bad things in America. A kind of spoof on us in general.. Koi no sperm next please. Their lineup has consisted of vocalist Daisuke-han, drummer Nao, guitarist Maximum the Ryo-kun, and bassist Ue-chan since 1999.
Yeah, the song isn't offering any opinions. Other than possibly cheese tastes good. It's funny when people misread things like this and get upset. Japan has an interesting sense of humor.
It's a love song to America. I hope. The song has a very American, Stadium Rock sound that is quite different from their other music. When originally released, the video had no subtitles. Even Japanese people had no idea what the lyrics were. The card at the beginning promised to release the lyrics in September. However there was a delay, and we did not know the lyrics until November. The title seems to be a riff on another MTH song, KOI NO SUPERMA. BTW, KOI has two meanings, which makes it an even more interesting title. The name MAXIMUM THE HORMONE has two meanings also. Founded by drummer NAO-SAN, the band are from HACHIOJI, a city on the far Western edge of Tokyo. Guitarist/vocalist MAXIMUM THE RYO-KUN is her little brother. You can see them as tiny children at the very end of the KOI NO SUPERMA video. The scene at the end is from a Rock festival in Japan, with DAISUKE-HAN and NAO-SAN demonstrating maximum crowd control.
Ahhh, now you discovered MTH. You are so deep in so many rabbit holes, you might as well live there, lol. MTH is just one of a kind band that is not definable. You might as well go all the way; it's time for you to get shocked by Ningen Isu. Start the journey with mv of "Heartless Scat". Rock on 🤘 and peace ✌️ bro.
Please check out Koi No Sperma next. Plus you have to do the dance moves for No Sperma.🤣😂 The caption thing at the start of the video had to do with them running a competition with their fans to guess what the lyrics would be. They are crazy people having fun. I still think the lyrics, which they added only a couple of weeks ago, aren't really what they are singing. They are being a bit cheeky.
Band member names: Guitarist/Lead Vocals: Ryo Kawakita "Ryo-kun" Heavy Vocals/Backup drummer/Miscellaneous instruments: Daisuke Tsuda "Dai-han" Bassist/Backing Vocals: Futoshi Uehara "Ue-chang" Drums/Lead Vocals" Nao Kawakita "Nao-chan" Ryo-kun and Nao-chan are siblings! Ryo-kun and Ue-chan weren't in the original lineup back in 1997, two other members named Key and Sugi were in their place; but they left and our present guitarist and bassist took their place!
With MTH it'll never be quite as simple as is it good or bad. This song, for example: there's love here but it's not blind. The USA is a inspiration and aspiration to many people, but there's some shit under the shine. The band are: Drums/vocals: Nao Kawakita Harsh vocals/occasional drums and keyboard: Daisuke Tsuda (AKA Daisuke-han) Guitar/vocals: Ryo Kawakita (AKA Maximum the Ryo-kun) Bass/vocals: Futoshi Uehara (AKA Ue-chan(g) ) Nao is Ryo's older sister. She and Dai started the band.
They are no longer active, but I strongly recommend, The Blue Hearts. Just solid rock. Train-Train is probably thier best known. And "Linda linda" is often known in the west is the song, indirectly where the current pop punk band, "the linda lIndas" got thier name. Kubitsuridaikara and rose of passion are my top.
I know I have thrown a lot of Japanese groups at you lately. But I can't resist suggesting a few more. So here go's. Number one has to be the grandfathers of Japanese metal Ningen Isu . Try their song - Heartless Scat . Next is the youngest Metal Artist ( at the time of these songs) Asterism . They are a 3 piece instrumental metal band made up of probable the best child prodigy's to come out of Japan in the last few decades. ( maybe ever ) suggested songs are - Rising Moon , Dawn (live) or Church. These kids were already world class at the ages of 15, 16 and 18 . Last but not least is a Band you have already started checking out Band Maid . You have already seen their talent so I wont hype them. Suggested Songs Warning (MV), Play (live) or Freedom (live). Play Band maid and the Maidiacs will come just like the Warning Army has. Both have great fan bases. Well that's probably more than you wanted lol,But remember you did ask hehe. Keep the great reactions coming. Enjoy the journey.
You are impressed by the size of their audience and their control over it? Well, your next video can only be one in particular: 'Koino sperma' (Video ID: "AUeRiPyjFH4" / Title "マキシマム ザ ホルモン 『恋のスペルマ』 Music Video 野外フェス映像ver."). Get your dancing shoes ready! 🤭I'm telling you, MTH are living legends and nothing less than nucking futs! 🔥🤘🏻 _____________________ 「 _"Our rock never dies ever. Forever!"_ 」 - from *BAND-MAID* - 'Manners' 🎶🕊
Nothing is more Japanese than being mysterious and ambiguous. Except baseball. As a Japanese UA-camr said 'Japanese people have no idea what's going on either.' Speaking of trying to understand what Japanese people are really thinking. It is what it is. It's either slightly a good thing or slightly bad.
MTH songs don't usually have English subtitles, so I don't know what they're talking about. Still sounds good though. So this one has English subtitles and I still don't know what they're talking about. Peanuts, the Perry expedition and a diahhrea sage. They seem to be criticising America while also celebrating it. I'm not American though, I'm from the UK, which is pretty attractive but we don't have the Avengers. Ah whatever. It rocks. Best not to overthink it.
This is not one of their best songs, I suggest you other ones: Hungry Pride, Yoshu Fukushu (a masterpiece), Tsume tsume tsume, What's up people. Koi no sperma is nice but not a heavy one.

MTH are legends, for me they remind me of System Of A Down is some way's, Great video!
-FUN- FACT
The song that the android sings at the end of the video was about the US military dropping the bomb on Hiroshima and Nagazaki.

Haha. You're not kidding. I'm probably about 15-20 different bands or groups right about now. I'm having a damn blast with it, though! 🫡🔥🤘🎸
