(So did Tamu Murata of Nimophila) during covid. I have come to appreciate J-pop in the last few years. Especially since that’s the way many of the new generation are mixing metal, rock, pop, and rap, out of Shinjuku live-houses. If you haven’t checked out ALMONDot yet, they are new on the Tokyo music scene. They are a great example of the new generation of Shinjuku groups.

Mizyu is the oldest and Suzuka is the obvious front woman on stage, but AG! are always quick to say that they don't have a leader. They were initially formed around Mizyu and in some circumstances the others still look to her, particularly when they are searching for an English word or need a ride somewhere as she's the only one who drives.
Yeah! I was totally shocked to find out Mizyu was the oldest. So, in Japanese culture, it makes sense. Suzuka's personality just cannot be contained, she is a natural front man. I guess you need someone who is always looking out for the others and that's Mizyu, well it's all of them. All of them really can do anything.

I think I've seen a video of shimi, but I think it was a fan made. I found it on UA-cam, then lost it and never found it again. There's for sure a video of bikini sports punchin. It's great.
I think it was about the time there was a video for Bu-ikikaesu that also disappeared. It started with a guy climbing out of the sewer and follows him down the street messing with people and then he climbs back in at the end.
I can tell you're a real MTH fan, thanks for commenting! I never saw the fan video for Shimi, but that does sound like some interesting lore. I might have seen the Bu-ikkikaesu video, but it was a long time ago. Bikini Sports Punchin however is a legendary video lol. I'm going to be doing an explanation video of "Alien" soon so hope to see you again soon!

I really like the way they took an old song of theirs, brought in another group, and turned it into something new and different for both old and new fans. I love the way JPOP always manages to find creative expression out of almost anything in a way I never expect.
I think Ue-chan(g) is actually the youngest in MTH. Nao-chan is oldest at somewhere around 48. They're all still damn kids compared to me, lol. I'm not generally that interested in groups that don't feature instrumentalists, but after this I suddenly have a lot more time for Atarashii Gakko. They absolutely fckn killed this. Did you ever see Nemophila's cover of this song? Mayu does a great job of taking on Dai's, Ryo's and Nao's vocal parts.

@@JpopOG H. Zettrio is a jazz group. They did a lot of work with AG. Songs like: Dokubana, Koi Geba and Koi no Shadanki are great examples of the style.
Have you heard Atarashii Gakkou's collab with Ringo Sheena called FRDP (First-Round-Draft-Pick in English I guess) yet? That's quite a banger, too. Also, as you mentioned Ado, I'm waiting for her to do something with MTH aswell, because her, AG's Suzuka and ano all know each other as far as I know of. She at least was on ano's tv show a few months back and they talked like they knew each other (even though ano talks to everyone like they know each other for years xD). Would be super sick to hear her on a "real metal song". Also, ano frequently screams in her recently disbanded punk band I's, in her live performances and also in the single 絶絶絶絶対聖域 (Zezezezettai Seiiki) with Lilas Ikuta from YOASOBI (the First Take from that song is pretty amazing).
Thanks for the information! Ado would do extremely well in hard metal or punk type song. A few of her songs have come very close if not just that. She has a great voice for everything, but it suits rock extremely well. I was not aware of the punk band Ano was in, but after seeing her karaoke clip singing MTH, I believe it. Always amazed at how multidimensional these artists are, and that allows them to make these insane type of collaborations. Love it!
I'm very much hoping for an Ano music video for her collab! That would really be something else. Considering the song is almost 18 years old, they added in something new and amazing, and it's like the whole song took on a new life.

Hey thanks for mentioning this! I did come across the interview Suzuka and Ado did, as well as I listened to the episode of All Night Nippon where Ado has her as a guest. I'll have to see if I can find anything going back further than those.

MTHの歌詞を説明する時間なんかない、だとか、Rinには油断するな、みたいなことを言いだしたので、ああこの人は「解ってる」なぁ、と😃
しかも日本文化にも造詣が深いですね。あの「巨大な工場煙突にしめ縄」という背景に注目されていましたよね。これは、この作品の世界観や映像の雰囲気にとって超重要なポイントの一つとして、「異形な何か」だとか「世紀末感」だとかの違和感に日本人なら気づくのですが、しめ縄を知らなければ難しいはずです。
いきなり三味線と篠笛で神楽が始まって、そしてラップ…と立て続けに爆弾が投下された時のリアクションも、解っている人のものだと思いました。
長くなったついでに言えば、そもそもリアクション動画として素晴らしくて、（他の人のリアクション動画を否定するつもりはないですが）嘘くささが一切ないし、不自然なカメラ目線もないし、両アーチストのことが本当に好きなんだな、というのが伝わります。
