OH NOOOOOO!!! Most people agree that my vids are the worst on UA-cam. I agree to disagree. Please agree to disagree with the haters, dear bur
Beautiful work man
You should totally do a giveaway at 550k subscribers I bet people will join first after seeing the giveaway I would about the channel and so I could get their first guitar
2:35 Encription
what is the song you played at the end
Burls Art: single-handedly keeping the coloured pencil industry afloat
Don’t forget the epoxy industry lol
With out even drawing with them
You must not know that kids exist.....
@@polishhammer1992 It's a joke stoopidhed
Artists???
guitarists obsessing over tone woods be like "i only play royal blue colored pencils. indigo is dark and muddy and sky blue is unusably bright without the tone knob"
I don't know about others but i would love to hear more of these demos! Don't cut them short please!
I agree. His playing was especially impressive this time.
I admit that one of the primary reasons I watch these videos is the guitar playing.
Agreed
do you know what song he played
I wonder what song it was
Next on Burls Art... "I built pickups out of 100 Colored Pencils"
It won't be long before he starts making strings out of colored pencils ^^
or next up, making a colored pencil out of a guitar.
@@GJ11598 all he needs to do is to chop this guitar accurately into several pieces.
Awesome!! Now make a bass out of guitar picks!!!
Davie504: *triggered*
That's illegal
@@gian_c6288 but ain’t impossible...
Sounds like a great way to randomly lose a bass
@@Gogurtbump I love this comment
when you randomly refresh UA-cam to see a Burls Art video released 2 mins ago
obviously it's an incredible build
but
Can we talk about his end demos? I love them!
What song this
@@markvanmalsen2766 almost sounds like umbrella
1:07 the beat matches perfectly with the sound of the screws being drilled out
I know that was so satisfying
Woah
I also noticed the sanding machine was in the same key too
this is another reason why we love Burls
Shop guy: so... why do you need 400 pencils?
Burls: nah i'm just making a guitar
Nice profile pic :)
I need them for ART, ok?
The obvious next step is a whole colored pencil guitar
Oh lmao got it
You must be new here, haha
If he has the space, an entire one piece guitar build or a neck through with wings.
*p e n c i l f r e t s*
@Chake nah I just commented at the beginning of the vid
Love how the music and the unscrewing aligned perfectly at 1:06
This is the comment I was waiting to see lol, This guy is detailed lol
Guitar Center: Do you want your neck unfinished, oiled or varnished?
Burls Art: *E P O X Y*
This is the type of shit I wanna learn to do when I'm older so when I retire I can just make guitars for a living as a hobby
"...when I RETIRE I can just make guitars for a LIVING as a HOBBY." You just created the world's first three-way oxymoron. Congratulations.
@@Igaveyoumyfakename but when you retire you tend to have a hobby and the hobby I'd like to have is make guitars, which I could sell and make my 'living' after retirement since I won't have an income outside of 401k and investments and so on. Grammatically yes, but logically no
@@Igaveyoumyfakename lmao I dunno how he managed that one
Burls Art: So, I can do one of two things....
Burls Art: So yea I’m gonna go with the third....
😆
1:07 I love the way you winced the drilling with the music. I gained so much satisfaction.
The way you synced the drill at 1:10 was so good I cant stop watching it
I’ve been watching since you built that colored pencil guitar. Your tool collection, craftsmanship, and playing have all come a long way since then!
The madman strikes again, that is a wonderful looking guitar + neck combo
I have always wondered. Did Burls plan on being a Luthier or did this gig just land in his lap after a lightning bolt algo moment?
@Virgil G I'm not completely sure, but his original equipment wasn't beyond 'weekender' stuff. I think he upgraded the band saw and possibly the table, and perhaps added the workhorse planer. Proof positive it's the hands, and in his particular case imagination, that made it.
I don't know for certain either, but my guess is that by the time his first "Colored Pencil Guitar" video was approaching the "1M, 10M, or even its 30M views" benchmarks, he most likely had caught on to the fact that making these kinds of videos could literally become a career. Or maybe he just wanted to be a crazier luthier than Dan Ferrington from the beginning.
Over the course of your builds, its impressive seeing the upgrades on the power tools.
I hope the neck won't bend, if it does let us know. I built a guitar with a slightly thicker than a standard neck, and it's holding good without adjusting the truss rod, I never actually adjusted it even after 4 years now. I'm sure the epoxy gives more strength to the wood.
I have advice: if you want a wood neck that won’t warp, you should cook it with a kiln, to remove all moisture. With epoxy resin necks, we typically like to put carbon fiber inside, and it literally doesn’t bend at all, and will probably never warp.
@@ryancozzolino7832 Yes I have a friend who cooks wood for my guitars. Carbon fiber is really a light and hard material, that would be really nice to install in a guitar neck.
Without a truss rod i imagine the neck will eventually bend under the constant pressure over time, unless the strings are a very light gauge.
Epoxy is a liquid which sets into an apparent solid; - old glass windows and even huge glaciers are liquids that appear solid but slowly flow and move through time, affected by force.
@@synisterfish I agree, the truss rod is a solid insurance in case something like that happens and you can micro adjust the neck to suit your playing preference.
@@synisterfish Glass isn't a liquid. That's a myth. Glaciers do move, but they are still solids.
Interviewer: you guys have such a ....colorful sound, what's your secret?
Guitarist: ¬_¬
I truly believe I have never seen a more unique neck. Fantastic job.
Very nice. Seen a lot of resin and colored pencil projects. But your limiting of the colors (from the full rainbow) and the arrangement you went with really help push this to a more sophisticated level. Well done!
This is flat out awesome on every level. I am thankful there are creative people like you in this world.
I honestly enjoy listening to you play just as much as watching you build. Such a great talent. thank you!
Perfectly timed drilling to the music... respect
Beautiful work, the demo caps it off perfectly
Honestly, these demos are just amazing. I love the making of the guitar, but the playing is absolutely phenomenal.
Amazing work as always. It definitively shows how much further you have come in design and execution of ideas.
Your editing skills are just as good as your woodworking. Drill sounds cut to match the beat, woodworking equipment somehow always in key with the backing track. That is next level my friend.
That is absolutely gorgeous dude - holy crap.Sounds really crisp too.. GREAT build..
I’m so glad i found this channel when you first started. I’ve loved every video since
1:31 humming sound from the machine is in the key of the background music. Very satisfying!
Awesome mah boi! 🤘🤘🤘🤘 been here since the first colored pencil guitar
I just have to say that not only are these videos an awesome showcase of your improvements and creativity as a luthier.... But also show how your playing of these guitars has been getting better and better. I remember the very first one. The guitar was awesome, and you sounded pretty good. But now these things are looking cooler and cooler, and your demos are getting better and better as well. I like your playing style. Reminds me of a hendrix/fruschante (spelling?) sorta vibe. Real cool man. Keep it up and you'll be playing gigs with your custom guitars!
awesome result. What a labor of love. Also sweet song at the end
That jamtrack is cool. Beautiful guitar nice sounds
That guitar has such a colorful tone! Great video.
I'd love to see an update in a year or so's time of how that neck is doing. If it ends up bowing under string tension you could try and plane a back-bow into the next one you do like that.
I really like how to have your own design headstock and signature! Really adds to the custom exotic look of your guitars, it reminds me of a artist signing his piece for the final touch.
Burl's back to kick it all up notch with creativity. Sweet!!
Nice how you synchronized the music with the sounds of you working.
Especially the unscrewing build up after poring the epoxy at the begging.
Nice touch there.
Youre videos are my favorite thing on youtube. Please never stop
also the demo for this one sounded dope
Wow that neck absolutely completes that guitar! Looks incredible!
That was an awesome neck build BA & the guitar plays great! Nice work! 👏🎸🎸👏
Man I love the demo so much, keep coming back to the video because of it.
That is so neat!
Beautiful colors!
Just when I thought you couldn’t do anything awesome. You do this. Keep it up man! Great stuff.
Man, that neck is DOPE. Insanely creative!
I'm just over here waiting for April 1st when "I Built A Guitar Out of Epoxy" hits my sub-box.
He already did tho?
Yep you can see it at 2:39.
Man. Your work is so underrated! You should have 1 million subscribers already!! Love your work and you amaze me every time.
Sick guitar! Those demos always blow my mind
These videos always feel so refreshing to watch and I love the little performances at the end. I love your videos and I always look forward to the next odd guitar!❤️
The epoxy fretboard is a very neat concept! In your future neck designs you could just put an artsy layer of whatever in between the neck wood and the transparent fretboard, there's much potential in this.
Terrific job! Colorful sound! ✍🏼🎸
This is one of the best channels on youtube. If not the actual best. Heres to many more guitar builds
I feel like on a stage setting is where the colors would really pop! Great build as always
Tone pencils coloring your sound nice. I've not been a huge fan of the pencil guitars, but that neck on there looks wicked good. It really pulls the whole thing together! I hope it stays stable!
Great playing at the end.
I love the way you did the neck!
Damn bad ass build wish the demo was longer
the bgm is so in line with the noises in the montage, chef's kiss
I never cease to be amazed. INCREDIBLE & BEAUTIFUL WORK! New weight of the overall guitar?
Wow...you did it . you made a neck to match the body. RESPECT again salute.to BURL'S ART. That explanation of the omission of truss rod is amazing. I hope it is stable and strong because it is beautiful and sounds great in your hands.
Whoever has raised you is a GREAT person.
Amazing design and build! It looks sick!
Always a good day when Burls Art uploads
Nice tone-pencils you got there. The white leads definitely have a more mellow tone...
Colored pencil stock prices are soaring - Wall Street "oh wait, did Burls just release another new video?"
Lmao
Need a compilation video of all your demos
the demo at the end has made my ears happy
1:07 Now THAT’S editing. Very nice touch.
Your work and playing abilities are amazing! could defo set up some playlists of just playing guitar, I know a student like me would love to listen to you play whilst studying, thank you!
Please post longer demos or post them on spotify! We love listening to them
Awesome! Perfect finishing touch to that body, it looks so cool. Custom colour pencil switch tip next? 😊
That design looks really good, especially on the headstock!
Bluesy/jazz sounding, outstanding!
Come for the crazy guitar builds, stay for the smooth jams at the end of the video. 🤘 you are a true rockstar, dude.
You get better and better with every new build and I love seeing that!! Thank you for sharing with us and I can’t wait to see what you make next
Looks even better now !!! Awesome job ❣
The demos are always the highlight of the videos
I love the look of the epoxy resin fretboard.
My favourite part of this one was definitely the demo at the end.... PLEASE do some playing-centric videos!
Your craftsmanship is amazing I'm definitely going to watch all your videos Thanks for posting ‼️
Nice work! that jam at the end sounds like something off Stadium Arcadium!
Wow! Very impressive! I remember when you built the tele body
Nicely done, as usual! As opposed to making bodies, this one should be really interesting over time, to see how well the neck holds up. Other than bridge and neck attachments, this is the first time you've built something (on video, anyway) that will be under constant stress, and subject to what the environment will do to it.......with no truss rod! Please try to remember to do regular updates on how stable the neck is staying, or not. And yes, please do not be afraid to make the demo segments a bit longer. Love your playing! :-)
So amazed everytime he makes a guitar. Coffee beans, jaw breakers love it.
That neck is amazing but that headstock is on a whole ‘nother level!! 🔥🔥💯
Great work as always and love the epoxy fingerboard idea, I would say on the topic of the truss rod, I'd make the point that it's not so much about strength as it is about adjustability. Being able to dial in the exact amount of relief is key for the best possible set up. That being said it clearly plays well so who am I to say!
Bud, if you wrote that song you played, you've gotta put out a full version! It's super catchy!
dried autumn tree leaves set in epoxy could be a cool guitar body
Hey that neck looks cool. Its killer as any exotic inlay work you did it again, another GOOD JOB MAN!!
Always a good day when Burls Art uploads 😃
You had quite a few machines now compared to when you just starting making these guitar build videos. Keep up the good work dude👍
The only thing missing is a colored pencil switch tip. Awesome build!
omg i cannot get enough of that song at the end
Very cool! Hand carving that neck must have taken forever
such a fucking awesome idea with the thickset as the actual fretboard! I've been dying to make a guitar but the whole neck/fret board attack always gets me.
