But he doesn’t explain how to play the powerchords and that’s anoying because there are no where on youtube people who can explain good what powerchords are he says “ok play (insert here the string) powerchord like this” and blocks everything with his hands
Hi Carl ..I have been playing for 4 months now ..took 5 classes and now finally my fingers are getting used to playing ...your videos will best benefit me because they are awesome examples of how the song is really played ...my first song learned from you was infact symphony of destruction ..my guitar instructor was also working on that song with me and now between you Carl and him I am becoming a better player thank you
Your lessons are excellent!!!! Really well done. The three-screen format is also super helpful for me. Thanks!!! 1.45 million subscribers for good reason, +1.
I really like your videos, you make it easy to learn new songs and you also helped me perfect some song I used to play not quite the right way. I'll stay tune for more lessons
@@snaxandviolenceBit of a late reply 😭 I’ve improved a lot by now it’s an easy riff for me, kinda funny that I’ve been replied to right after seeing ac/dc live lmao
@noah_2008 I get it. You made the comment two years ago, and your last comment a month ago. You have drastically improved I'm sure by now. I've been working on this song for a year now. Lol and still trying to get this bridge down. I learned it wrong so now I have to re learn it
ur my fav teacher man thanks a ton..u teach the best..i have now learned about 6 songs from u only..can you please do a lesson on Iron Maiden- two minutes to midnight??
Hi Carl. All your lessons are awesome. However they would be 10% better if you started the lesson by stating the key of the song. This would also be much appreciated when you are doing your famous guitar solos. Just shortly say which scales are used in this lesson
hes playing a "Strerling signature series by MusicMan", not sure exactly what kind of amp. But its a very basic tube Marshall JCM800 sort of sound w/ maybe an overdrive/dist. pedal. Sounds Great!!
Although I think that maybe this classes are given in a basement where you rip corpses, THIS IS A GREAT LESSON AND IT HELPED ME TO BE BACK INTO MY GUITAR!!!!!! thank you!! ☺☺☺
Thanks so much for this lesson. I've been slowly learning guitar for just over a year now. I'm at the stage where I need to start learning songs, and I chose this one as I just love AC/DC. On the 2nd ending to the intro riff I'm finding that the string I'm not hitting is still ringing out, e.g. I've just hit fret 2 string 5 (B) and then fret 4 string 6 (G#/Ab) I think this might be due to my finger pulling off . Can you give any advice as to what I might be doing wrong here and how to fix it. Many thanks dude!
This is what I do. The tone is obviously a bit flatter on that one note but the difference is so minor, especially when playing with a band. The benefit is that you don't have to stretch your fingers and you're more likely to actually hit the right notes, which I feel is more important. That being said, it's a nice little riff to practice your stretching, which is a valuable skill.
james hernandez I have. It's a three part lesson and all parts are in my Ozzy Osbourne playlist here... ua-cam.com/play/PLOBqO_KghqI5YiAAxdLeZwzfUrV1oAEXi.html Thanks for watching my videos!
I'm pretty sure in the beginning riff he doesn't play the A major, he plays an A major with that major third (C#) on the A string. Check it out for yourself, it sounds perfect! Great lesson!
Question, at 3:31 in the video, he’s making a chord, but doesn’t really name it. What is it??? I’m still very new and trying to tackle this song. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks.
Hey Carl, I have a question about the opening riff on BACK IN BLACK, E DDD, AAA on the A cord there something missing like on the song High way to hell AAA, DD,G,DD,G,DD,G,D,AA on the D cord he is playing an F# with his thumb. but in Back in black there is a missing note that is played with the D cord! I can't figure it out , or is malcum plating a different note in there?
Excellent lesson. Question how are you getting that awesome guitar sound? I'm using a PRS SE 245 guitar and Orange CR60 amp, but can't quite get that sound. Thanks, Paul C
@@Mortlerickle123 I have a distortion pedal, but I never use it when playing ACDC. All you gotta do is turn the gain all the way up. Also turning the treble up and bass down helps with the tone
Great guitar lesson question… what software did you use to make three videos into one?? I've been searching and searching . have not found out how to do that Thanks
Untamedbeauty3 Well I don't edit the videos my self but I do know the editor uses Adobe Premier Pro. I am sure most high end video editing software can do it though. You would just have to learn how it is done for that particular software. :)
Hey Carl is there anyway you could do soul stripper lesson by ac/dc there is only one up right now but it is not complete with the solo...please hook us up this was ac/dc in its early raw form.
I must see if I can find any that are packs because I need an amplifier and all those other stuff, do you have anywhere that you recommend to buy from?
kinglevidevicus VG generally a power chord is where you can only hear the lowest two strings and mute the rest, for an E power chord that would mean open E string and 2nd fret on the A for an F power chord that would mean 1st fret on the E string and 3rd fret on the A string, get how it works?
Great job Carl that was very well done...! could you do a lesson on the song "Pushed To The Limit" 3rd song on the UFO Walk On Water CD Michael Schenker is the guitarist.... Thanks
Question, how much of this is “lead” and how much is “rhythm”? I know he says at one point that “this is what Malcom is playing under Angus’ solo”, but is there a video that covers strictly, the entire rhythm part? Or is this it???

Yes! Except marty

Just make it sound right by picking. They don't always pull off. And the rest will come as you get comfortable

7:43 ooo so that little tri-tone is what gives that riff that little spice! That’s nasty! Awesome haha
Yea I caught that too. You know that’s the sound in aloe of there songs that I’ve always wondered where that spice came from.
Thanks Carl You are the best teacher. 👍🙏
Oh man I love your lessons! :D
Hi Carl. All your lessons are awesome. However they would be 10% better if you started the lesson by stating the key of the song. This would also be much appreciated when you are doing your famous guitar solos. Just shortly say which scales are used in this lesson
Also stating the settings on the distortion/gadgets or the gadgets ur using would be very helpful. :)
The key is e minor pentatonic
If you know enough music theory to know what keys are u should be able to figure it out on your own
You should be able to work out the key in about 1 second flat.
Some people need everything spoon fed to them...

what if I play with 7s on the low E instead of 2s on the A?
