I like how you suggest the partying at Rio may have affected the pilots. I've always thought their reaction time, their confusion and their decisions were from three days of drinking. I like very much your analysis of the different skill levels of the pilots.

Very well done, but that weird rushing sound effect is really annoying and adds nothing to the video.

This is the most infuriating accident. Basic airmanship was non existent. This never should have happened.

First mistake they made was flying through a thunderstorm. Which jammed up the pitot tubes with ice. And suddenly, you got two jokers who don't know how to fly manually. And totally disregard the stall warning.
All the other aircraft in the area went around those storms.

Excellent presentation. This disaster has been covered by other UA-cam presenters in the past, but yours gave me a fresh insight into the events and root causes. As soon as I saw the title of the flight, my first words were ‘oh the frozen pitot tubes’, but in reality a lot more was at fault here. Poor airmanship by the pilots, and as you said, if the captain had still been the pilot flying, the disaster would most likely not have occurred. Nose-up at high altitude was the big problem leading to stall conditions, and as another commentator said here already, the partying in the nights before the flight are unacceptable. To me, it can take some days to get good quality sleep and to be in prime condition to fly an aircraft. Partying is for holidays only, or, for people whose jobs don’t involve the safety of hundreds of people and the risk of loss of lives.
Thanks as always for your fabulous presentation and voice and research.

I've watched ten of these about AF447, and this is the first I'm hearing about anything that happened before the flight. Thank you 👏❤

So horrifying to see the First Officer continuously doing the exact opposite of what actually should have been done when a Plane stalls. Makes me wonder as to whether he was trained at all.
RIP to all the people who lost their lives in this very sad incident.

Worthless Video that fails to identify the root cause of this loss. "Pilot Error" is the cause of 95% of all Commercial and General Aviation Accidents/Losses. This flight was heading towards a Major Tropical Storm that had Tops of 50 Thousand Feet. These types of storms can be deadly due to High Velocity Up and Downdrafts, Lightning, Hail, Wind Shear and Severe Turbulence. The morons flying this aircraft were obligated to alter their course since it was impossible to fly above this Storm Center. They had to quickly find an Alternate Airport or if necessary, Fuel Permitting return to the Departing Airport. In addition to this fact, the aircraft's Weather Radar System was using a Pencil Beam Type with a range of 100 Miles.
The Pencil Beam must be adjusted Manually as it approaches a storm center. An A330 with a Cruise Speed of 530 mph would take 12 Minutes to reach the storm center of 100 Miles. The Pilots either failed to monitor the storm or were incompetent with the system. By the time the Captain returned to the Cockpit from his rest he should have immediately taken over the controls from the First Officer. The aircraft suffered a Full Aerodynamic Stall that could have been prevented if the Captain had noticed the Control Stick was being held back, in a Climb Configuration by the imbecile First Officer killing everyone.
The focus and attention on the Pitot Tubes is stupid. A Pilot flying without an Air Speed Indicator, at night lacking any visual references should be smart enough to realize that keeping the Wings Level, Altimeter closely monitored with a safe Pitch Angle to would avoid Stalling the aircraft.

Even as a nonpilot, you don't nose up in such a situation as this so as to not slow and stall. Why did they do this?
