- So the point of a convertible is to be able to take your roof off and see some sky right? Well recently our Bentley GTC's convertible top has been acting up again. I say again because we are now officially on our 3rd top all for different reasons and it isn't cheap to replace. Try $25,000!

Sonya Williams Warranty/Insurance avg roof cost is about 25k if they have to totally redo it. Technically we had 2 total
Luxury Lives On Got it, I was told to avoid the GTC to the roof issues, now I see why. That’s a hell of a lot of money for a roof when depending on the year a 07 GTC can run you 50-70k.
Sonya Williams Honestly I haven’t heard of anyone else’s failing but my rule is the more there is with something the more chance for something to go wrong.
Also, this is why secondhand Bentley Continental convertibles are going to be dirt cheap and continue to drop. Every convertible has problems at some point I have an exotic and even if I blew the engine it wouldn’t cost this much.

The fact that that’s so expensive to fix has nothing to do with it being an exotic. It has everything to do with bad engineering and bad design.
