If you're new around here, Venomoth is a Psychic/Flying type, you can't change my mind. - Ігри
39:51: Scott: There's only *JUAN* last gym challenge.
Ah, I see what you did there...
Bro I was literally reading this comment as Scott said it in the video 😂. It's the small things
The way my boyfriend slapped the arm of the couch and yelled “LET’S GO!” when you started a second play through 😆♥️
Happy Valentine’s Day to you and your lovely wife Scott! ♥️
This comment made my day! Thank you for sharing!
shoutout to triathlete alyssa who just falls off the cycling road in hoenn and she's like "yeah i'll battle you"
Yay we finally are getting second playthroughs in Emerald! :)
Shadow Ball might be in its move pool because shiny roselia kind of fits the ghost vibe with its black and purple roses. I think it's pretty cool to imagine it shooting shadow balls outta those :D
It was my first shiny and at first I thought my game was messed up but then I remembered shinies existed. Lol.
Its one of my favorite shinies
Given all the oddities of RSE, I suspect that they wanted to implement the physical/special split as early as this generation but weren't able to get it done.
I’m surprised you didn’t go modest for a nature given how useless physical moves are on Roselia.
Same
Sludge Bomb and Shadow Ball are both physical in this gen
You don't need to boost Special Attack with a nature if you already have growth from the start, it's better to get the most speed possible
@@jaydenkween1828 Scott went with a rash nature which boosts special attack and not speed. I have no criticism of him boosting special attack because the 10% boost is multiplied by growth to bring opponents into KO range at lower levels.
I only question why a minus special defense nature when there was effectively no physical attacks were used in the video making a minus attack nature more valuable. If you want to argue for something like timid or naive that is another matter entirely.
@@DpmtI'm the absolute worst at remembering which nature is which 😂😂, but yeah, I meant Timid (-Atk, +Spe?)
Scott, I think the accumulated resets/blackouts should be called Faults. Like in tennis or volleyball.
This is the best term I've heard. Fantastic suggestion.
Ngl I popped a little bit when you finally beat Winona in Run 1. _"You HP Fire here! _*_Balls to the Sunny Day, you HP Fire here!"_*
Ngl, I got very worried when Scott was going for Stun Spore on the Machop and letting it set up Bulk Up
"Scott! Scooooott! It has Guts!"
Dang both Scott and Jimothy Cool hitting us with awesome Roselia content on the same day!
Grass Whistle really needed a buff in order to not be Sleep Power but worse. Like at lease 90 accuracy if you want to make it a signature move of Roselia.
Yeah, even 80% or 85% would have been nice… it’s not Spore. Plus Compound Eyes + Sleep Powder exists, higher Grass Whistle accuracy wouldn’t be broken
Funny thing. Grasswhistle is just Sing, but extra characters.
I always found it weird that sound-based moves had lower accuracy, despite also already having the downside of not affecting Pokemon with Soundproof.
Make it deal a little damage, like base 40, and have a 50% chat of inflicting sleep
@@BloodfelXthey're distributed to a different type of mon. Sleep powder needs to be better because early grass types especially were support/status mons.
wow this guy is great at the game. he really has a good thought process around the game and he puts together really intelligently done videos. the data and the methodology and stuff is rigorous and we trust his results.
I think it’s a bit excessive, specifically with spinners.
I feel bad for laughing at "then theres only juan last gymleader" well played Scott xD
Glad I wasn't the only one that noticed that. XD
Glad to see you back!
I tried solo running Sapphire with the Bulbasaur line and can say that Drake is terrifying for grass-types without Hidden Power
My favorite Grass type from Gen 3 on my birthday! Awesome video as always Scott!
Hey, happy valentine birthday to ya! (I have the same and it's always a delight to see other cupid babies)
I just got done watching the Clefable vs Granbull video! Hell yeah!
AND A SECOND PLAYTHROUGH LET'S GO
Love this so much! I always knew that having a second play through would do wonders for most Pokemon.
I’m digging the new thumbnail style.
Great work as always man, glad you could overcome the technical issues
Woohoo! This is the only valentine I’ll get today! Thanks!
Loving the new gym leader intros(unless i just never noticed them last year)! Very excited to see the second playthroughs for gen3, this was an amazing gift thank you Scott ❤
Always nice to see the regular uploads!
The Valentines gift we all needed; you always make the day/week better for us Scott. Much love for all the work you put into your content ❤
It's really minor, but not having Poison point as an ability made the perfectionist in me twitch, as Natural cure in a solo playthrough is like basically having no ability since you can't switch it out
I think you commented this before the end of video ;)
On of my fav mons! Great video Scott!
The second playthrough was such a nice surprise!
Thanks for all you do! ❤
Roselia is a Pokémon that grew on me. I didn't care for it in Gen 3, but because it got a full evolutionary line with a baby and an evolution in Gen 4, it's become one of my favorite lines in the series. The design is really nice, has a good moveset, I like the stat spread, Roselia as a middle stage is a great Pokémon, just an all around good family of Grass-types.
It grows on everyone with how much it has to spam growth.
HOLY SHITE I did not expect a second play through this made my day
Welcome back Scott! Missed your videos in the new year!
Thanks for the uploads it helps my day
2 fantasic videos in 2 days! You're spoiling us! Hope the well earned break was good!
Great video Scott. Happy Valentine's Day
Love the second playthrough, great run! Agree that HP electric might be worth trying as coverage
Thanks for the upload Scott ! Been waiting for some more vids minus the live streams
Watching so many resets pile up against that Numel when setting up twice and then finishing the setup on the Slugma was the most obvious answer was REALLY painful.
I don’t think so, the Slugma get another full SpA overheat
I love the Roselia line, I always go get one when Roserade is available it’s so beautiful and nice really wanna see a Roserade only run at some point
Lets goo, I love the entire budew line💚🌹
Haven’t watch the video yet, liked it already.
So happy to see you back Scott!
Displaying the badges greyed out behind stats is such a good idea to declutter the overlay while still maintaining an awesome amount of information.
fun little interaction with the freeze status, starting in gen 2, pokemon can't be frozen in sun.
roselia did surprisingly well!
may be the power of love
Happy Valentine’s Day Scott thanks again
Super happy to see second playthroughs in emerald. Would be even more happy to see a smeargle run in gen 3...
Happy Valentines day! I may be alone this year but Roselia is an interesting Pokémon. It's interesting how it sort of resembles Seadra stat wise but its defenses are swapped.
OHHHH MY MAN GOT ME WITH THE SECOND PLAYTHROUGH!
Scott something to remember about peliper it will always go for protect first turn with how it is coded. So any time you fight one you can use it to setup
Ha! I didn't expect this so good!
35:09
I heard this phrase and thought of an alternative way to say that.
"He has plenty of rizz but suffers from performance issues."
I used Roselia in Gale of Darkness once. It was very nice!
Omg so relatable with hyper fixating/over valuing move synergies, I'll be like "no no i need to keep non STAB rollout and defense curl" cause they make a brain happy moment like solving a children's puzzle 😂💀
Great run! I held my breath when you paralyzed the guts machop but that's just me underestimating the flower power🌹🌹
THE KING IS BACK BOYS!!
I applaud the choice of hidden power fire. It handles the Skarmories and the Metagross. Hidden Power ice may make more sense for a best league time, but, when you have a special attacking poison type to face Steven with, fire is obviously the best choice. I would be curious how a HP electric and dark would do, for a lot of neutral coverage and super effectiveness against the many fliers in the case of electric and the twins for dark
Good guy Scott reminding us all to order flowers before we end up sleeping on the couch
Such a great wingman
I don’t mean to look a gift horse in the mouth; but we’d need 6 play-throughs to get a dozen flowers. That is an awesome improvement in round two though, so I know your heart was in it. Thanks for another gen 3 run!
Roselia was my favorite Pokémon in Gen3. It was the first Pokémon I trained, which wasn't my starter
Heck yeah, happy valentines day Scott! Thanks for the flowers!
Yoo scott when u do the dancing salamence u should get some custom art for it. Id love to see a dancer salamence.
Lol also we love you too scott 🤣
Roselia one of my favorites
YES! SECOND PLAYTHROUGHS!🤩
Yay for second runs in Emerald 🥳
No modest nature during the 2nd playthrough? Which physical attacks did you use?
Loving the return and all the exciting progress you've made! 2nd playthroughs on Emerald are great to see!
Edit: also sorry, I see you already replied to a comment about modest nature lol
Yeah, 100% an oversight. I get hyper fixated on preserving both attacking stats in these runs because I need the adaptability in a blind run. But this was my first follow up and I didn't realize I should be changing my nature.
He's back!
46:24 absolutely splendid line there
SECOND PLAYTHROUGHS IN EMERALD! 🎉
Yo, now that you are doing second playthroughs... does that mean that we are finally getting Solrock vs. Lunatone? 🙏🤩
Hey Scott you really threw with roselia and gave it unfair results! Just kidding of course, I am happy with the videos and your way to approach them, and you can't be perfect for all of them. Really enjoyed the run!
Considering how consistent you could get +2 from growth, I think the move is to just attack after set up. Counting on a crit alone is awkward, but overheat can also miss. That's enough to just force it and probably save time. Alternatively you could do the same set up and then just use grass whistle once against her ace.
After the first playthrough I was thinking you could have saved about 30 minutes cutting out the fat from the playthrough and then when you did the second playthrough I felt so vindicated on the almost exactly 30 minutes saved. Glad to see you back Scott. In video form I have been catching streams here and there
It's good to be back in video form!
So real quick. Maybe the macho brace you get from winstraits (however you spell it) might help with some pokemon. It halves speed in battle so probably not great for major battles, but it doubles evs obtained. It might help some runs if you use the vs seeker to get specific vaules while you need to grind sometimes. Not sure if thats too much work though
I like Roselia's design, and its animation when it gets hit in the Gamecube Pokemon games.
Imagine how bad this would've been without Growth or Hidden Power!
Got walled in predictable spots, but was surprisingly good other than that and still solid overall!
Could it be worth it to go with HP Ice for consistnecy in the spots you mentioned and use GrassWhistle on Steven's Metagross?
I really love the fact you're doing 2 playthroughs now. I think if you had stuck to 2 playthroughs at the start, you could already at crystal level skillset by now, plus you can always do redo streams later. Glad to see you build up on runs in emerald, which felt missing compared to gens 1 and 2 (now 4, but never say never)
Roselia is one of my favorite grass Pokémon.
Sunny Day should be on Route 120, inside a cave on the water called the Scorched Slab. Maybe you mentioned it later, but I remember that it was in there pretty clearly.
Excited for a re-ranking of medicham
during the flannery fight i kept wondering to myself if growth being sun-boosted was in this game. i was hoping that could be a fun out
unforch
Including a second playthrough in the initial video is much appreciated!
Kinda wonder if Shadow Ball is there to counter Psychic types who might want to go after the /Poison
Considering that roserade is my favorite grass type, I am pretty certain it will do well!
my head cannon for Roselia getting shadow ball was always "oh that move would look cool in contests" because Roselia was like the go to pokemon i used in contests when i was a teenager
Does Leech Seed help set up against Flannery? I feel like someone has to test that. You get back health passively to at least tank the non-Overheats while setting up better.
Drew would be proud of you Scott
Duuuuuude I’ve been waiting for these!
Spoiler: can’t wait for Blaziken’s third playthrough!
second playthough!
iETSSSSS GOOOOOOOOOO
Maybe Roselia can learn a ghost move because roses are hauntingly beautiful
I remember being so happy roselia was in gen 4... due to being in college its took me ages for me to get it.
hey roselia , finally. my favorite hoenn pokemon getting the respect she deserves , man i wish roselia was my mom!
Hi! Hostile comment about how you threw with Roselia and tried to give it bad results! This may only be a thing in later gens, but doesn't the move reminder let your Pokemon remember TM moves? Like Sunny Day, for example?
About the Flannery fight, you could have set up some against numel and then some against slugma, relying on mega/giga drain to heal for sustainablility. If you insist on using grasswhistle, it's place is against Torkoal. If your options are crit or get lucky with grasswhistle, grasswhistle turns a much lower chance into (essentially) a coin flip.
So, the match could look like: 2-3 growth, mega/giga drain, 2-3 growth, mega/giga drain, giga drain or magical leaf for camerupt, grasswhistle for Torkoal, 2 turns to ko.
Awee, thanks for the flowers Scott! 🌹
Happy Valentine's Day to all the lovers. Great run of Roselia - my favourite Grass Type. I always included it in my teams of Sapphire.
Oh... Oh no, that backsprite is some cursed knowledge. I do _not_ like that Roselia is essentially wearing a gown-length _bib._
Harsh sunlight prevents freezing
You really threw with Rosella, obviously you’re just trying to give it bad results
Love you Scott, everybody makes mistakes. That’s what second playthroughs are for. So you can learn from your mistakes, and be better because of it.
I can’t believe after all that discussion about Sunny Day and keeping it specifically for Steven and then you just… didn’t use it. Never change, Scott.
Grass Whistle being an objectively worse Sleep Powder, when almost every Grass type learns all three powder status moves makes absolutely no sense. 💀
I can't watch a Norman battle without hearing, "Step in time Maqubi, TEETER DAAAAANCE!!!"
I'm not here to say you threw as you predicted, but I do find it really funny that you went with petal dance for tate and Liza considering how much value you typically put on recovery.
I feel like with flannery trying to put her Ace to sleep was the best option because if you're consistently getting there with plus four set up then you have a 55% chance to just go through it with no problem
20:21 Note that the Sludge Bomb TM only becomes available after defeating Norman, so you couldn't get it anyway
Sunny Day and Solarbeam is a good combination,
