I just walked through a Walmart on a whim about 2 hours away from me. They had one controller in their display case, and it was an elite. It wasn't even on their website. You better believe I bought it.
I've found them on (smaller site like eb games, the source) but if you don't care about warrenty and want one asap try second hand off kijiji or Craigslist and verify controlls work good before buyjng
My controller keeps “disconnecting” often, it has a full battery charge. Pretty annoying. $200 for a “Elite” controller while a $60 basic controller works a million times better.
When they inevitably release a series 3 they better have learned their lessons. Cause its just ridiculous considering the price tag and how many people have issues. With the large amount of problems customers are having, youd think there would be a recall.

Had mine for 4 months now, it was failing after the second month, rb and lb either don’t work or double click, right stick drift, bottom 2 back paddles are very unresponsive... It was really good, while it lasted.
Me and my brother bought 2 core controllers at the same time, his came out of the box with mad stick drift and my bumpers went out after 2 months aswell as getting stick drift, not to mention one of the paddle buttons doesn’t click anymore…
In not doing this for attention, I'm being 100% honest, I have gone through 4 repairs all due to the same problem, double pressing bumpers, it's gotten to the point where the controller has spent more time in repair, than in my possession, it is truly mind boggling how such a rich and wealthy corporation has cheeped out on a product based around the premise of buying a controller hat is not cheap for better performance, defeating the purpose of the product itself, with it's main selling point being the quality as compared to a standard controller, which is truly mind boggling as the standard controller is undeniably more durable , there is no reason as to why a controller that costs 200 dollars is inherently less durable and less reliable as compared to a standard 50 dollar controller, it's a joke.
Same the bumpers are so cheap, i had problems with the RT and LT and i cannot even click it i need to have pressure just to Click RT and LT and its hard as a rock, i bought it 12 days ago and uts broken.
UPDATE. I shit you not got the controller back 4 days ago and it is already broken guess I have to ship it back and wait another month and a half for the controller, which I GUARANTEE will break in less than a week just to repeat the process over again. I know these controllers have a majority of young customers that are super anxious to get their hands on these controllers, but I urge you to wait for an official statement from Microsoft regarding these controller before buying one, I promise you will get little to no playtime if you do otherwise.
I got mine since the release day, and I always take care of my gaming equipment, so the V2 I pre-ordered has held up perfectly fine until about a month ago. I had slight drift on my L. Stick, which I could deal with, but then a couple weeks later my R. Bumper started to gradually get harder and harder to press and finally register, bringing me to last night looking up how to tear it apart, safely and with Xbox tools, and figuring out what the actual problem is. There's a "box" the R. Bumpers hit when pressed on a white circular panel. Inside that is where the wiring is either touching each other - hence the double action - or is loose which caused my case because I use it a lot for reloading, yet I couldn't to save my life. So now, I might be going back to my V1 because I never had a problem with it. The hell is up with Microsoft making crap electronics that are supposed to be, y'know, ELITE?!
My LB and Rn haven’t registered for almost 6 months and now I just switched the button mapping to the paddles for LB and RB. Was much better till I upgraded to a series x now my buttons will randomly go off including the button mapping button in the middle so that’s a thing. Had it for almost 2 years now
Controllers can collect dust and get heavy amounts of oil and grease you have to clean the thumbs ticks and the whole surrounding of it every once and a while
@@kevingrus3297 A couple of days ago I started to experience left stick drift, it started out of nowhere but I thought is was me. I tried alcohol and q-tip and nothing changed. I have had my controller for 7 months now and I am not sure if the component that controls the y axis broke or I got some dirt in it. Repairs for this problem are upwards of 80$ and I dont want to spend that money or open up my controller (little experience in that area). If you an give me any other tips it would be appreiciated.
While this is an “old” video, I bought one of these controllers on Friday. Within 1 hour the A and X buttons stopped working. I was able to verify that the controller continually “presses” these inputs even if they were not being pressed by trying to calibrate the controller. Quality control still seems to be an issue. It’s a shame, for the 1 hour it worked it was the best feeling controller I’ve ever had.
I just had to return mine because the ‘Y’ button wouldnt be registering every time I pressed it. How the hell can Microsoft charge $250 AUD and it have all these issues yet their standard controller has literally 0 issues... like c’mon.
That’s what comes with in such a techno savvy world. They need to slow down on all the accessories and focus more on comfortable paddle that work and are durable as well aw quality thumb sticks that can last longer than a couple months. I personally recommend Sony back button attachment if you’re on PS4 and strike pack of on Xbox
I have the same problem. I have to press harder on Y than any other button sometimes. Also, my left stick is stuck in. When I click it, it doesn't make the same noise and feel as the right stick. But that's because Modern Warfare has tactical sprint, and I use it alot. The RB button also presses twice for me

Hey man I have this RB double input issue and I play Apex a ton so I get allot of fake signals to my teammates, I have the extended through GameStop but obviously we are in lockdown. My question is should I call Microsoft for a new controller or wait this out?
@JPro x for me I have the double RB input, this is annoying but the gameplay I get from the paddles and customized feel outways that annoyance. I will be sending my back one day because I got the warranty.

The faulty bumpers is the biggest issue. I bought an Elite Series 2 in 2020 for COD, had no problems for 1 year. Then I started playing Destiny 2 in which I use the bumpers extensively. After 2 months, my RB stopped registering. Looked up the fix on UA-cam and it's the white plastic fold over the button. Traded it into Gamestop for a replacement, bought the extended warranty. 6 months later it's now the LB doing the same thing. Using one of the mapped paddles for it, but will be replacing it tomorrow. The controller is fantastic and feels great, but the bumper issue needs to be addressed. 6 month shelf life is not viable.
When a controller is this complex there is so many moving parts (even for just a single button). Not really surprised about the higher failure rates. Hope they release a version with the paddles but without all the other bells and whiles.
Corbin Warren true I like it when the paddles are almost hugging the controller similar to how the strikepack does it... just ordered my Astro c40 and I’ve heard those are the most natural feeling so I’m excited to find out
Skyler Dutton not even gonna lie taking that thing out of the box and holding it in your hands feels like sex. It’s fucking awesome. And the back paddles are beyond incredible it feels incredibly natural and not even gonna lie I think it was a little bit of placebo but I genuinely felt like I was better the players I was going up against. The only issue I’ve had with it is that the bumpers are a bit bulky and can sometimes be hard to register/click if you’re trying to make quick plays in games like Fortnite that heavily rely on utilizing the bumpers. Not really enough to keep me from buying but it’s worth noting. The only other issue I’ve had is the stick drift especially if you play with a low deadzone and even despite resetting the controller the issue is still there. It’s not anything major but I just like to play on very low deadzones so I noticed it right away. And the stick drift doesn’t really effect gameplay terribly as it only occurred when I would make very tiny micro adjustments. If I’m being honest I would be very happy paying like 175 for the product but I have no regrets. Shit is still amazing lol

I got mine on pre-order and it was amazing... until about a week ago. Now it disconnects every 15-20mins out of nowhere. It’s very annoying especially when I’m in a sports game where disconnecting is the difference between winning and losing. Sucks because I loved this controller so much. Everything about it’s design is perfect. I guess I’m such a fan boy that I’ll probably just go buy a new one eventually.. I’m a sucker for punishment apparently.
This controller is on sale for $140 right now and I have enough MS reward points for a $50 MS gift card, I've been on the fence with picking up this controller but I figured since it would only cost me $100 bucks right now I pulled the trigger on it. WISH ME LUCK. lol
I play competitive fortnite and im on my 3rd elite v2, double tapping bumpers and absurd analog drift are just a few of the main issues with mine.... some other issues include, my x button and paddles not registering. I fortunately have a warranty on my 3rd one but they are sold out everywhere and cannot get a replacement.... For the time being i have switch back to my elite v1 and it has honestly felt like heaven even though the grips are falling off and the bumpers are out of socket, this due to it being 3 years old.... I really hope Microsoft does something soon about these controllers....
The grips on the V1 are awful, I ripped them off after having to go back to it. I sent my V2 away to get fixed, so if they don’t issue a replacement within 2 weeks, I’m demanding for it back.
Im planning on getting one this july. For my series 1 ive had the grips fall off. Rb out of its socket. But have you had your analog grips crack off? Both of mine just cracked on the edge and fell off.
There's a stupid bug that when you charge your controller via the USB cable to a PC, it will never be able to pair with Bluetooth unless you click on Remove Device and add a new bluetooth again.
I’ve had mine since Christmas 2019, about a month ago I started having problems with RB not registering every time I pressed it. It has continued to get worse over time, and it’s gotten to the point where it only registers less than 50% of the time (even while I’m making the conscience effort to press it more firmly). Occasionally when it does register, it double clicks. I’ve also had a problem for a very long time with the sticks failing to center while I’m not touching them. This has caused stick drift for any dead zone under 14%. I did some research online and found if you push your trigger all the way down (with the trigger stoppers off) you can blow into the opening at the top to help the bumper register. It does a decent job at helping the problem, but you need to blow excessively hard into the opening for it to make any difference, and it only helps for about 30 minutes until it starts getting bad again.
Have you tried taking the controller apart yourself and cleaning the bumpers out with alcohol or nail polish remover? Several people say this works for the bumper issues and stick drift issues.
blazed v2 in the little guide in the packaging with all the fine print it says that there is a 1 year warranty for the controller excluding problems like “normal wear and tear” and liquid or impact damage. I’m trying to see if I can get a replacement or a repair through the warranty.

Its completely unacceptable to have a few instances of this level of bugs in a hardware device. Its sheer unbridled insanity the scope and consistency of this issue and having no recall and worse yet, Pushback from Microsoft warranty on actually dealing with customers.
I’ve had my controller for a few months now but I’ve had issues out of the box. I have it registered but I’m not going to ask for a replacement until I can confirm that the problem has been fixed, it’s a waste of time and money to do it now. The issues I’ve been experiencing would be that the LB and RB double clicks at times, X A B or Y would not be registered at times and drifting on both sticks. I also have a feeling that the control sometimes gets overwhelmed when pressing too many buttons and that’s when double pressing A or another action goes undetected. Other than that the quality is perfect and the overall feel of this controller is amazing.
I've had my controller since early January, and I've only started having issues with the right bumper not responding as much unless I use more pressure. I can temporarily fix it by holding down the trigger and blowing under the bumper. I have no issues with any of the face buttons because I use all four paddles. Only time I use buttons is for fighting games (which I don't usually play). Edit: Found out my warranty was still up; sent my controller in for either a replacement or refurbish. It arrived at Microsoft today. I'll make an update in around 10 days.
EVERY SINGLE CONTROLLER I have ever had by Microsoft has had the right bumper die. Every single time... I was considering an Elite but now I'm going with Scuf.. They just got purchased by Corsair so I expect big quality boosts. The only issue I've see with those is the little spacer pad on the face plates likes to move and cause stick sticking. Easy fix... I also think the modular design might last longer. Broken button? You can replace it! Not so much with this thing...
2021, been through at least 6 of them. I'm convinced they are doing this on purpose. I've searched reddit, youtube, google.. it doesn't matter, the EXACT same issues. The new issue i'm facing this year though is left analog not clicking down and A not registering.
Just got the elite v2 yesterday worked fine for a day and a half. Played this morning. I was getting ready to watch a movie and the only button that's working is the Xbox menu button...I didn't get the warranty. 😅
I’ve had it for a few months now and there is stick drift on the left stick and it sometimes disconnects mid game... love the controller though I love the back paddles! Just wish they could come out with a new one with no problems
Bought in the middle of april and three days ago the left joystick controller has become useless: if you move it to the right or to le left or up or down it stays on the right or to the left or up or down. He works only when I press and move it.
Just purchased mine from Best Buy (Christmas) I can say that I do love the Elite 2, however, I am concerned about input lag on A button (which is actually why I searched for information online for any issues and ran across this video). Very helpful information.
I’ve had my elite controller v2 for almost a year and it’s still working like the day I got it perfectly. I’m even a bit hard on it. The battery life is off the charts best controller I’ve ever owned
I brought my first V2 three months ago, great 🎮. Sent it back 4 times so far, stick drift, paddles had to pressed overly hard. Main issue was bumpers double and triple inputting for one click.
I thought I was the only one that had those problems, but with the Xbox elite v2 and Astro C40, I had the same issues with double inputs of buttons and horrible stick drift. For me after a while, I stopped replacing then and bought an elite v1, it works better and I haven't had a problem
XC214 seems kinda risky to me, doubt they would let u return something if u already naught it refurbished. Apparently Microsoft is making a new batch of elite v2’s that are fixed. I think I’m gonna wait it out
I have a brand new Elite 2 and I have to hit the A button two or three times to activate it. Meanwhile the controller that came with the console is flawless.
Hey I got my XBOX ELITE 2 controller after the holidays since it was always sold out everywhere. I now have it about 3mths with no noticeable issues so far but that can change. Will keep you posted on if that continues good video.
Had the V2 on release date, had left stick delay input and no clicky clicky when you pressed the left stick. Had to literally mash it just to get the hold breath input on COD. Sold it because I made a custom V1 with one S faceplate. Only thing I can say I truly miss about it is the internal battery with charge dock and the mini paddles
The problem with most of the people claiming they have no issues is that they are simply not doing their testing properly. Out of the 5 people I know who claimed to have "a perfect controller" all 5 of them had a faulty controller, and didn't know it. This isn't to say that _every single_ controller has issues.
Just got one and wow, not good. Now first, question: When people say "stick drift," are they meaning you hit the stick to turn your view and it just...keeps turning? Like signal lag? If so, that is what this one is doing. Also, it sometimes does what you want, as far as with the buttons, jump, shoot, change weapons, whatever...then other times, it just seems to not be communicating with my PC and doesn't react, at all. I thought it was some kind of calibration issue but after seeing this, not sure it is.
Microsoft doesn't need to fix anything. Why would they when these controllers keep getting out of stock. Selling well for a huge profit margin. They are doing fine

@@904StreetRats i have some issues once in a while, like when I let go of the sticks it keeps moving but it lasts for 2 seconds and fixes itself immediately, and it does not happen often at all.
Got the controller at release and was loving it! Up until last week when one of the trigger toggles fell off and what I thought was a solid plastic toggle was just a rubber tip. Took it in for a replacement, 2 days with the replacement and the Xbox logo light turned red, never seen or heard of that happening before. No onto my 3rd controller, no issues so far (touch wood).
I just ordered one for “pre-order” through GameStop after it was out of stocks for weeks and should be shipping out any day now. Hopefully it’s an updated batch
Well it’s happening again, the rubber grips are starting to peel off my third elite series 2 controller. Also, as of today there is a rattling sound coming from inside my controller. I should note that the controller itself still works perfectly but for the price there shouldn’t be any issues. I’m officially thinking about replacing my current controller with a fourth elite controller but I’m also trying to hold out in case there is any news about an elite series 3 controller. I’m kind of looking forward to being letdown by a new generation of controllers.

elite 1 came out with all other issues and yours is awsome so im guessing its same thing. some people have bad luck and some have good. im very agressive with controllers especially if playing football so guess that is something i had better be careful off.
@@MoAliRiyaz i went elite 2 because its got bluetooth built in. with elite one you have to buy a dongle and i dont believe in dongle life. My xbox plain controller works with bluetooth ansd is seem less wioth pc, its that good, im always hoping from pc to xbox s. but i now own a elite 2 and it doesnt work seemlessly with my pc. yes itll pair no problem but try going from pc to xbox and back results in me haveing to physacly unpair the device from pc, repair it and then hey its their. so basicly my xbox one s controllers two of them work flawlessly with switching pc to xbox to pc to yeh you got it but elite two controller is like the dualshock ps4 controller its hit and miss but remember on pc just go to blue tooth setting remove controller then repair and all is good. it really shouldnt be doing that but maybe its one of my 4 blue tooth dongles on pc that are the issue and not the controller. ill know in 2021 as i will build a modern pc with built in blutooth on motherboard or a bloody good pci express card. nope i only have one blu tooth dongle installed at any time and apart from testing them all its been same one.
I've had mine a month after its release (so almost a year ago) and I'm getting at least 95% of these problems. I'm having the rb double click 50% of the time, a button doesnt work sometimes, and have been getting stick drift recently. I'm not sure if it's how it was made or there needs to be a update to fix these problems, but I hope i can get it fixed. Other than those problems it's a really good quality controller.

Me two ive had my first elite series 2'for a few weeks. The left thumb stick worn when I move it in a circular motion and I've had stick drift. I'm very concerned. Considering the controller costs $150 this should not be an issue. I don't care about the charger or case just build me a controller that lasts a long time
I got the series 2 when it was launched and i use it almost every day since then.Two days ago out of the blue the right trigger started to get sticky when i apply little force to it and after it goes smoothly down all the way. It feels like there is some kind of glue stickiness going on when i press it down,very frustrating.
Shoot I blamed the missus thinking she'd used it with sticky fingers! I had the exact same problem same trigger even! And yes I just told her and apologised to her oops!
Yup, but only while using Bluetooth connection. People who have a wireless adapter say it doesn't disconnect for them. I usually have a big lag spike in the game before the disconnection and sometimes it won't connect back unless I turn it off and on again 🤔
just got one 2 months ago and developed some left analog stick drift, cleaned with some rubbing alcohol and its good to go! Regular cleaning of these controllers is very important

Wow @ years later and same exact issues. I got an elite 2 controller 3 months ago at best buy, luckily, I'm a total tech member and get free exchanges, RB double clicked, I returned and got a free exchange but sadly after 2 weeks the controllers RB started double clicking again. I guess Microsoft still doesn't want to address this wide known issue, BestBuy will exchange for free for 2 years since I'm a total tech member, I will buy the Astro controller after I stop getting this one for free, or if I get one that last me at least a year with no issues, Let's face it guys Microsoft has enough money and doesn't need to address this issue. They probably won't make a better elite controller for at least 3 years.

Keenan Tran that could work too. The best controllers should have natural stick drift, as that means the tension is so high that the stick is slightly tugged in a specific direction. In other words, it’s a symbol that they’ve tightened the analog stick well, so an adjusted deadzone should fix it.
this video made me feel better i would say im glad im not the only one dealing with all those issues but im not glad no one should have to pay 180 dollars to get something way way way way worse than a 20 dollar controller like honestly my controller is like completely broke rn like its on but its off and i cant do anything with it at all and my left stick was having really bad stick drift and like when i was pulling it back then pushed it forward it wouldnt let me walk forward or nothing and my rb button would never work and it dose the double input sometimes too and also right before it completely broke my lb was starting to do the same thing i requested a replacement hopefully if i get it that one wont break like this one cause like im only 15 and like i finally got a job and paid with my own money to buy it so that makes it even more annoying that it broke
Broken in 1 1/2 months, RB only works when I press very hard. This has happened on two S1 controllers but normal cheaper controllers work fine for years

I've got my elite v2 one weak efter it's release and it so incredibly good. I have had no issues so far and I use this controller daily for almost 5 months now, it's really worth it bro.
You know, I was so close to getting an Elite V2. I had it ordered from Best Buy, the website said 1 in stock, so I waited for the "Your order is ready to be picked up." email. Never got that email, instead I got the "This item is not actually stock, so your order is canceled" email. So, I started looking at the alternatives, and settled with the Razer Wolverine Ultimate. It seems I may have dodged a bullet there. Still bought the GSP from Best Buy just to be safe, though.
Microsoft does not care about their customers. I sent my controller in with all the paddles and case because it had stick drift. Then they sent me back just a controller with no case, paddles thumbs ticks or anything. Keep in mind they specifically told me to send everything in and that they would send me all new stuff. Took another 2 months to get the parts after they kept hanging up on me. Then when I finally got the parts they sent me two sets of upper paddles. I calle them again and they said they won't send me anything else and did me a favor by sending any accessories at all. Basically they made it sound like I lost the other case, paddles and thumbs ticks. So anyway I tried the controller out finally since I now have thumbsticks and their was still stick drift on both sticks. Pretty sure they send me the same controller. Lastly the A and Y button will sometimes not register. I also want to add that in the 2 months I was waiting for mine to be returned, I bought one from Walmart that also had stick drift and also had marks all over the controller as if it was used. I returned that one and got another one from Walmart that was missing a thumbstick and paddle and yet again had stick drift. I can't even get on a phone call with Microsoft without them hanging up on me. All I want is what I paid for. At this point I just want my money back so I can by the razor Xbox controller.
I’ve had 4 of these from different retailers. My issue is with the thumb-sticks, they are so loose even on the highest tension! All 4 have been impossible to aim with and due to the looseness have huge dead zones. My last controller was made at the end of June 2020 and this does not seem to have been rectified. I won’t be buying another. Luckily I have been refunded in full each time
Mrchrisisnotmad Siege you’ll be disappointed! You can add tension and they feel great but, initial looseness in stick results in huge dead zones, I got the power a fusion controller and it’s been far better so far. If you do get an elite I hope you’re luckier than me!
Just got mine today. Right out of the box right analog drift and the controller keeps disconnecting during game. But the controller felt so amazing and premium. It is a return for me
Yea just the RB AND LB I get times where they won’t register and sometimes they will double press. I got it on launch it lasted till about last month I’m not sure what goes wrong I have never dropped it and I’m not rough with it.
Drew Schmidt had the same problem did a ton of video watching took apart the controller and cleaned it with isopropyl alcohol or even nail polish remover. Especially where the rb and lb buttons had to use a flat head screw driver to click it and hold it for 30 seconds and also click it fast. Did it about 3-4 times let it dry started it up. After a few games it worked like new. Same for sticky a b y or x buttons. It sucks but a little cleaning goes a long way to fix it

Hazim Sharif I feel like this information would help all of the people whining about stick drift and button problems, but aren’t willing to see if there are other ways to fix their issues. It’s not defective if it just needs to be cleaned.
I have had the elite series 2 for almost a year now and if I don’t use the controller for maybe just a day or 2 the left and right trigger feel sticky but usually goes away the more I use it. I have stick drift it’s not drastic but its there sometimes. Both sticks seems to be very loose when lightly touching it and doesn’t seem firm like how a regular Xbox controller is. I also bought this from Best Buy so that may be a reason. But other than that there’s no huge problems with my controller. I can play whatever I want just fine. Maybe just cause I’m used to the controller or maybe not I’m not sure.
Elite Series 2 is a big let down with the double click issue for the bumpers (sticky buttons and drift on the analogs were present, but IMO not nearly as much as this double click issue). For those who don’t know, I’ve owned 7 Series 2 Elites (not a joke). 6 of them had the bumper double click and 1 had the sticky buttons and analog drift. Best-buy has since UNSTOCKED this product due to the amount of exchanges and returns (I was next to the lady when she called the distribution center and they told her they no longer carry this product). People are selling these controllers for 300 dollars on Amazon now. If the Series 2 was perfected 3% more it would be the perfect controller. Literally using it before the bumper issues start (you get about 3-8 weeks of use) it’s better than your wildest dream. Not kidding. The trigger stops, paddle clicks, and shorter paddles are game changing (like out of the box improves your gameplay). Elite series 1 is wild, don’t get my wrong it’s what I’m currently using, but the triggers go in too far and the paddles were too big for some people. PRO TIP: a dude now sells elite series 2 paddles on amazon. I’ve bought some and use them on the series 1, pretty amazing.
Purchased one the other day, stick drift immediately out of the box. Exchanged for another the next day.. same issue added with Bluetooth issues. Exchanged again yesterday... and they are shipping me out a 3rd controller. I don’t have much faith the damn thing will work but I really do like it. 🤷🏻♀️ If this doesn’t work returning completely for money back. It’s pathetic.
Same here man I just ended up getting a replacement part from Amazon and did the fix my self it’s easy to do just got to be able to solder and be careful but I replaced both sticks sensors or what ever ya call them and mines great now but it was the worst controller I’ve ever had on stick drift
first elite v1 has RB and LB issues. Was excited to try the Elite v2 hoping they fixed the issues. I absolutely love the V2 the feel and customization options but here i am looking to buy another one because of excessive stick drift.
Just bought one last week (ordered through Microsoft) and got it in the mail yesterday. A button sticks and doesn’t always register. I also have drift in the right joystick. I’m returning it and going to stick with a normal controller. For me to have problems out of the box when this issue was known for over a year is very telling. I’m going to wait for the next generation, these are too expensive to have so many issues. If anyone is considering one of these, all I can say is stay away.
Elite V2. Both sticks wouldn't click anymore after 3 months. The replacement controllers left stick started either not responding or responding with a delay after 1 month. One of the reasons I watched the video was to see how common it is. I still have half my warranty at least. Wishing I got an extended warranty about now.
There’s so much drift in my left stick and the left stick doesn’t register that it’s being moved, it’s sucks cause I really love the controller but it’s so bad that I just don’t use it anymore
When play a game I’ll hold my left stick all the way but in the game it looks like my person is dragging there feet on the ground, controller drift and rb double click
design flaw in all elite controllers, because of the adjustable tension sticks. Your only solution is to grab on to the stick with something you can grip tight (your tshirt) and screw the whole thing counter clockwise to release some pressure. Not the little screw under the stick, but the whole stick itself. Put on the longer stick for better grip, and rotate it counterclockwise.
Have you tried taking the controller apart yourself and cleaning the controller out with alcohol or nail polish remover? Several people say this works for the bumper issues and stick drift issues.
My LB button stopped working completely on my first elite 2 and it disconnected for 10 seconds every few minutes. Got a new one like a week ago used it all of 4 times and its disconnecting like the other one did
I had to return mine since clicking my left stick wasn’t working unless I double clicked it. Also my second one is now having stuck button issues with the top two paddles

I've found them on (smaller site like eb games, the source) but if you don't care about warrenty and want one asap try second hand off kijiji or Craigslist and verify controlls work good before buyjng

I’ve had my elite 2 since launch and I haven’t had any issues, I play everyday with a minimum of 2 hours or more daily. No issues or drift.

Equinox LF I don’t play fortnite, so I couldn’t tell you on that. I mainly play call of duty and warzone, no issues with that game.

My controller keeps “disconnecting” often, it has a full battery charge. Pretty annoying. $200 for a “Elite” controller while a $60 basic controller works a million times better.
When they inevitably release a series 3 they better have learned their lessons. Cause its just ridiculous considering the price tag and how many people have issues. With the large amount of problems customers are having, youd think there would be a recall.
The only good part is the paddles and replaceable parts

Had mine for 4 months now, it was failing after the second month, rb and lb either don’t work or double click, right stick drift, bottom 2 back paddles are very unresponsive... It was really good, while it lasted.

Me and my brother bought 2 core controllers at the same time, his came out of the box with mad stick drift and my bumpers went out after 2 months aswell as getting stick drift, not to mention one of the paddle buttons doesn’t click anymore…
In not doing this for attention, I'm being 100% honest, I have gone through 4 repairs all due to the same problem, double pressing bumpers, it's gotten to the point where the controller has spent more time in repair, than in my possession, it is truly mind boggling how such a rich and wealthy corporation has cheeped out on a product based around the premise of buying a controller hat is not cheap for better performance, defeating the purpose of the product itself, with it's main selling point being the quality as compared to a standard controller, which is truly mind boggling as the standard controller is undeniably more durable , there is no reason as to why a controller that costs 200 dollars is inherently less durable and less reliable as compared to a standard 50 dollar controller, it's a joke.
Same the bumpers are so cheap, i had problems with the RT and LT and i cannot even click it i need to have pressure just to Click RT and LT and its hard as a rock, i bought it 12 days ago and uts broken.
UPDATE. I shit you not got the controller back 4 days ago and it is already broken guess I have to ship it back and wait another month and a half for the controller, which I GUARANTEE will break in less than a week just to repeat the process over again. I know these controllers have a majority of young customers that are super anxious to get their hands on these controllers, but I urge you to wait for an official statement from Microsoft regarding these controller before buying one, I promise you will get little to no playtime if you do otherwise.

I got mine since the release day, and I always take care of my gaming equipment, so the V2 I pre-ordered has held up perfectly fine until about a month ago. I had slight drift on my L. Stick, which I could deal with, but then a couple weeks later my R. Bumper started to gradually get harder and harder to press and finally register, bringing me to last night looking up how to tear it apart, safely and with Xbox tools, and figuring out what the actual problem is. There's a "box" the R. Bumpers hit when pressed on a white circular panel. Inside that is where the wiring is either touching each other - hence the double action - or is loose which caused my case because I use it a lot for reloading, yet I couldn't to save my life. So now, I might be going back to my V1 because I never had a problem with it. The hell is up with Microsoft making crap electronics that are supposed to be, y'know, ELITE?!

My LB and Rn haven’t registered for almost 6 months and now I just switched the button mapping to the paddles for LB and RB. Was much better till I upgraded to a series x now my buttons will randomly go off including the button mapping button in the middle so that’s a thing. Had it for almost 2 years now
G'day, I've had mine two months and now I've got left stick drift.
You have to clean it with alcohol and a q tip get in every crease and clean everything in the whole area
Controllers can collect dust and get heavy amounts of oil and grease you have to clean the thumbs ticks and the whole surrounding of it every once and a while
@@kevingrus3297 A couple of days ago I started to experience left stick drift, it started out of nowhere but I thought is was me. I tried alcohol and q-tip and nothing changed. I have had my controller for 7 months now and I am not sure if the component that controls the y axis broke or I got some dirt in it. Repairs for this problem are upwards of 80$ and I dont want to spend that money or open up my controller (little experience in that area). If you an give me any other tips it would be appreiciated.
My warranty is expired so I don't know what to do.
mine lasted 2 weeks before the left joystick stopped registering and they couldn't even find my serial but it was new enough to return and rebuy
While this is an “old” video, I bought one of these controllers on Friday. Within 1 hour the A and X buttons stopped working. I was able to verify that the controller continually “presses” these inputs even if they were not being pressed by trying to calibrate the controller. Quality control still seems to be an issue.
It’s a shame, for the 1 hour it worked it was the best feeling controller I’ve ever had.

That’s what comes with in such a techno savvy world. They need to slow down on all the accessories and focus more on comfortable paddle that work and are durable as well aw quality thumb sticks that can last longer than a couple months. I personally recommend Sony back button attachment if you’re on PS4 and strike pack of on Xbox
I have the same problem. I have to press harder on Y than any other button sometimes. Also, my left stick is stuck in. When I click it, it doesn't make the same noise and feel as the right stick. But that's because Modern Warfare has tactical sprint, and I use it alot. The RB button also presses twice for me

Hey man I have this RB double input issue and I play Apex a ton so I get allot of fake signals to my teammates, I have the extended through GameStop but obviously we are in lockdown. My question is should I call Microsoft for a new controller or wait this out?

The faulty bumpers is the biggest issue.
I bought an Elite Series 2 in 2020 for COD, had no problems for 1 year. Then I started playing Destiny 2 in which I use the bumpers extensively. After 2 months, my RB stopped registering. Looked up the fix on UA-cam and it's the white plastic fold over the button.
Traded it into Gamestop for a replacement, bought the extended warranty. 6 months later it's now the LB doing the same thing. Using one of the mapped paddles for it, but will be replacing it tomorrow.
The controller is fantastic and feels great, but the bumper issue needs to be addressed. 6 month shelf life is not viable.
I have a similar problem with the rb while playing COD it literally switches my trigger action on any gun and sometimes doesn’t register at all
When a controller is this complex there is so many moving parts (even for just a single button). Not really surprised about the higher failure rates. Hope they release a version with the paddles but without all the other bells and whiles.
They have THE best paddles out of all the pro controllers hands down. I can live without the thumb sticks being changed out and the grips easy.

Correction: It has *fewer* moving parts than their regular controllers, once half the buttons get stuck, and the bumpers fall off.
Zak Butz how is your Astro holding up? That’s the only pro controller I’m considering buying. As I’ve heard nothing but good reviews on that.
Skyler Dutton not even gonna lie taking that thing out of the box and holding it in your hands feels like sex. It’s fucking awesome. And the back paddles are beyond incredible it feels incredibly natural and not even gonna lie I think it was a little bit of placebo but I genuinely felt like I was better the players I was going up against. The only issue I’ve had with it is that the bumpers are a bit bulky and can sometimes be hard to register/click if you’re trying to make quick plays in games like Fortnite that heavily rely on utilizing the bumpers. Not really enough to keep me from buying but it’s worth noting. The only other issue I’ve had is the stick drift especially if you play with a low deadzone and even despite resetting the controller the issue is still there. It’s not anything major but I just like to play on very low deadzones so I noticed it right away. And the stick drift doesn’t really effect gameplay terribly as it only occurred when I would make very tiny micro adjustments. If I’m being honest I would be very happy paying like 175 for the product but I have no regrets. Shit is still amazing lol

I got mine on pre-order and it was amazing... until about a week ago. Now it disconnects every 15-20mins out of nowhere. It’s very annoying especially when I’m in a sports game where disconnecting is the difference between winning and losing. Sucks because I loved this controller so much. Everything about it’s design is perfect. I guess I’m such a fan boy that I’ll probably just go buy a new one eventually.. I’m a sucker for punishment apparently.
This controller is on sale for $140 right now and I have enough MS reward points for a $50 MS gift card, I've been on the fence with picking up this controller but I figured since it would only cost me $100 bucks right now I pulled the trigger on it. WISH ME LUCK. lol
I play competitive fortnite and im on my 3rd elite v2, double tapping bumpers and absurd analog drift are just a few of the main issues with mine.... some other issues include, my x button and paddles not registering. I fortunately have a warranty on my 3rd one but they are sold out everywhere and cannot get a replacement.... For the time being i have switch back to my elite v1 and it has honestly felt like heaven even though the grips are falling off and the bumpers are out of socket, this due to it being 3 years old.... I really hope Microsoft does something soon about these controllers....
The grips on the V1 are awful, I ripped them off after having to go back to it. I sent my V2 away to get fixed, so if they don’t issue a replacement within 2 weeks, I’m demanding for it back.
Im planning on getting one this july. For my series 1 ive had the grips fall off. Rb out of its socket. But have you had your analog grips crack off? Both of mine just cracked on the edge and fell off.

There's a stupid bug that when you charge your controller via the USB cable to a PC, it will never be able to pair with Bluetooth unless you click on Remove Device and add a new bluetooth again.

Yea it’s not a bug that’s just the way Bluetooth works with that device many devices do the same thing such as phones to usb in some vehicles
I’ve had mine since Christmas 2019, about a month ago I started having problems with RB not registering every time I pressed it. It has continued to get worse over time, and it’s gotten to the point where it only registers less than 50% of the time (even while I’m making the conscience effort to press it more firmly). Occasionally when it does register, it double clicks. I’ve also had a problem for a very long time with the sticks failing to center while I’m not touching them. This has caused stick drift for any dead zone under 14%. I did some research online and found if you push your trigger all the way down (with the trigger stoppers off) you can blow into the opening at the top to help the bumper register. It does a decent job at helping the problem, but you need to blow excessively hard into the opening for it to make any difference, and it only helps for about 30 minutes until it starts getting bad again.

blazed v2 in the little guide in the packaging with all the fine print it says that there is a 1 year warranty for the controller excluding problems like “normal wear and tear” and liquid or impact damage. I’m trying to see if I can get a replacement or a repair through the warranty.

Its completely unacceptable to have a few instances of this level of bugs in a hardware device. Its sheer unbridled insanity the scope and consistency of this issue and having no recall and worse yet, Pushback from Microsoft warranty on actually dealing with customers.
I’ve had my controller for a few months now but I’ve had issues out of the box. I have it registered but I’m not going to ask for a replacement until I can confirm that the problem has been fixed, it’s a waste of time and money to do it now. The issues I’ve been experiencing would be that the LB and RB double clicks at times, X A B or Y would not be registered at times and drifting on both sticks. I also have a feeling that the control sometimes gets overwhelmed when pressing too many buttons and that’s when double pressing A or another action goes undetected. Other than that the quality is perfect and the overall feel of this controller is amazing.

I've had my controller since early January, and I've only started having issues with the right bumper not responding as much unless I use more pressure. I can temporarily fix it by holding down the trigger and blowing under the bumper. I have no issues with any of the face buttons because I use all four paddles. Only time I use buttons is for fighting games (which I don't usually play).
Edit: Found out my warranty was still up; sent my controller in for either a replacement or refurbish. It arrived at Microsoft today. I'll make an update in around 10 days.
EVERY SINGLE CONTROLLER I have ever had by Microsoft has had the right bumper die. Every single time... I was considering an Elite but now I'm going with Scuf.. They just got purchased by Corsair so I expect big quality boosts. The only issue I've see with those is the little spacer pad on the face plates likes to move and cause stick sticking. Easy fix... I also think the modular design might last longer. Broken button? You can replace it! Not so much with this thing...

Just got the elite v2 yesterday worked fine for a day and a half. Played this morning. I was getting ready to watch a movie and the only button that's working is the Xbox menu button...I didn't get the warranty. 😅
I’ve had it for a few months now and there is stick drift on the left stick and it sometimes disconnects mid game... love the controller though I love the back paddles! Just wish they could come out with a new one with no problems

I thought I was the only one that had those problems, but with the Xbox elite v2 and Astro C40, I had the same issues with double inputs of buttons and horrible stick drift. For me after a while, I stopped replacing then and bought an elite v1, it works better and I haven't had a problem

Hey I got my XBOX ELITE 2 controller after the holidays since it was always sold out everywhere. I now have it about 3mths with no noticeable issues so far but that can change. Will keep you posted on if that continues good video.

Had the V2 on release date, had left stick delay input and no clicky clicky when you pressed the left stick. Had to literally mash it just to get the hold breath input on COD. Sold it because I made a custom V1 with one S faceplate. Only thing I can say I truly miss about it is the internal battery with charge dock and the mini paddles

The problem with most of the people claiming they have no issues is that they are simply not doing their testing properly. Out of the 5 people I know who claimed to have "a perfect controller" all 5 of them had a faulty controller, and didn't know it. This isn't to say that _every single_ controller has issues.

Just got one and wow, not good. Now first, question: When people say "stick drift," are they meaning you hit the stick to turn your view and it just...keeps turning? Like signal lag? If so, that is what this one is doing. Also, it sometimes does what you want, as far as with the buttons, jump, shoot, change weapons, whatever...then other times, it just seems to not be communicating with my PC and doesn't react, at all. I thought it was some kind of calibration issue but after seeing this, not sure it is.

@@904StreetRats i have some issues once in a while, like when I let go of the sticks it keeps moving but it lasts for 2 seconds and fixes itself immediately, and it does not happen often at all.
Got the controller at release and was loving it! Up until last week when one of the trigger toggles fell off and what I thought was a solid plastic toggle was just a rubber tip.
Took it in for a replacement, 2 days with the replacement and the Xbox logo light turned red, never seen or heard of that happening before. No onto my 3rd controller, no issues so far (touch wood).
I just ordered one for “pre-order” through GameStop after it was out of stocks for weeks and should be shipping out any day now. Hopefully it’s an updated batch

Well it’s happening again, the rubber grips are starting to peel off my third elite series 2 controller. Also, as of today there is a rattling sound coming from inside my controller. I should note that the controller itself still works perfectly but for the price there shouldn’t be any issues. I’m officially thinking about replacing my current controller with a fourth elite controller but I’m also trying to hold out in case there is any news about an elite series 3 controller. I’m kind of looking forward to being letdown by a new generation of controllers.

elite 1 came out with all other issues and yours is awsome so im guessing its same thing. some people have bad luck and some have good. im very agressive with controllers especially if playing football so guess that is something i had better be careful off.

My xbox plain controller works with bluetooth ansd is seem less wioth pc, its that good, im always hoping from pc to xbox s. but i now own a elite 2 and it doesnt work seemlessly with my pc. yes itll pair no problem but try going from pc to xbox and back results in me haveing to physacly unpair the device from pc, repair it and then hey its their. so basicly my xbox one s controllers two of them work flawlessly with switching pc to xbox to pc to yeh you got it but elite two controller is like the dualshock ps4 controller its hit and miss but remember on pc just go to blue tooth setting remove controller then repair and all is good. it really shouldnt be doing that but maybe its one of my 4 blue tooth dongles on pc that are the issue and not the controller. ill know in 2021 as i will build a modern pc with built in blutooth on motherboard or a bloody good pci express card. nope i only have one blu tooth dongle installed at any time and apart from testing them all its been same one.
I've had mine a month after its release (so almost a year ago) and I'm getting at least 95% of these problems. I'm having the rb double click 50% of the time, a button doesnt work sometimes, and have been getting stick drift recently. I'm not sure if it's how it was made or there needs to be a update to fix these problems, but I hope i can get it fixed. Other than those problems it's a really good quality controller.
I’ve had mine for a few months and it’s definitely my favorite controller however.... It disconnectes almost daily when I am mid match even if it’s plugged as well as the A button double clicking, the stick drift on both sticks is also disgusting. Good luck if you purchase one
the bluetooth connectivity most likely got damaged in some way. either way, you should contact microsfot for help with connection issues.

Me two ive had my first elite series 2'for a few weeks. The left thumb stick worn when I move it in a circular motion and I've had stick drift. I'm very concerned. Considering the controller costs $150 this should not be an issue. I don't care about the charger or case just build me a controller that lasts a long time
I got the series 2 when it was launched and i use it almost every day since then.Two days ago out of the blue the right trigger started to get sticky when i apply little force to it and after it goes smoothly down all the way.
It feels like there is some kind of glue stickiness going on when i press it down,very frustrating.

Yup, but only while using Bluetooth connection. People who have a wireless adapter say it doesn't disconnect for them. I usually have a big lag spike in the game before the disconnection and sometimes it won't connect back unless I turn it off and on again 🤔

just got one 2 months ago and developed some left analog stick drift, cleaned with some rubbing alcohol and its good to go! Regular cleaning of these controllers is very important

Wow @ years later and same exact issues. I got an elite 2 controller 3 months ago at best buy, luckily, I'm a total tech member and get free exchanges, RB double clicked, I returned and got a free exchange but sadly after 2 weeks the controllers RB started double clicking again. I guess Microsoft still doesn't want to address this wide known issue, BestBuy will exchange for free for 2 years since I'm a total tech member, I will buy the Astro controller after I stop getting this one for free, or if I get one that last me at least a year with no issues, Let's face it guys Microsoft has enough money and doesn't need to address this issue. They probably won't make a better elite controller for at least 3 years.

Keenan Tran that could work too. The best controllers should have natural stick drift, as that means the tension is so high that the stick is slightly tugged in a specific direction. In other words, it’s a symbol that they’ve tightened the analog stick well, so an adjusted deadzone should fix it.

Broken in 1 1/2 months, RB only works when I press very hard. This has happened on two S1 controllers but normal cheaper controllers work fine for years

You know, I was so close to getting an Elite V2. I had it ordered from Best Buy, the website said 1 in stock, so I waited for the "Your order is ready to be picked up." email. Never got that email, instead I got the "This item is not actually stock, so your order is canceled" email. So, I started looking at the alternatives, and settled with the Razer Wolverine Ultimate. It seems I may have dodged a bullet there. Still bought the GSP from Best Buy just to be safe, though.
Microsoft does not care about their customers. I sent my controller in with all the paddles and case because it had stick drift. Then they sent me back just a controller with no case, paddles thumbs ticks or anything. Keep in mind they specifically told me to send everything in and that they would send me all new stuff. Took another 2 months to get the parts after they kept hanging up on me. Then when I finally got the parts they sent me two sets of upper paddles. I calle them again and they said they won't send me anything else and did me a favor by sending any accessories at all. Basically they made it sound like I lost the other case, paddles and thumbs ticks. So anyway I tried the controller out finally since I now have thumbsticks and their was still stick drift on both sticks. Pretty sure they send me the same controller. Lastly the A and Y button will sometimes not register. I also want to add that in the 2 months I was waiting for mine to be returned, I bought one from Walmart that also had stick drift and also had marks all over the controller as if it was used. I returned that one and got another one from Walmart that was missing a thumbstick and paddle and yet again had stick drift. I can't even get on a phone call with Microsoft without them hanging up on me. All I want is what I paid for. At this point I just want my money back so I can by the razor Xbox controller.

I’ve had 4 of these from different retailers. My issue is with the thumb-sticks, they are so loose even on the highest tension! All 4 have been impossible to aim with and due to the looseness have huge dead zones. My last controller was made at the end of June 2020 and this does not seem to have been rectified. I won’t be buying another. Luckily I have been refunded in full each time

Mrchrisisnotmad Siege you’ll be disappointed! You can add tension and they feel great but, initial looseness in stick results in huge dead zones, I got the power a fusion controller and it’s been far better so far. If you do get an elite I hope you’re luckier than me!

Yea just the RB AND LB I get times where they won’t register and sometimes they will double press. I got it on launch it lasted till about last month I’m not sure what goes wrong I have never dropped it and I’m not rough with it.
Drew Schmidt had the same problem did a ton of video watching took apart the controller and cleaned it with isopropyl alcohol or even nail polish remover. Especially where the rb and lb buttons had to use a flat head screw driver to click it and hold it for 30 seconds and also click it fast. Did it about 3-4 times let it dry started it up. After a few games it worked like new. Same for sticky a b y or x buttons. It sucks but a little cleaning goes a long way to fix it

It’s not defective if it just needs to be cleaned.
I have had the elite series 2 for almost a year now and if I don’t use the controller for maybe just a day or 2 the left and right trigger feel sticky but usually goes away the more I use it. I have stick drift it’s not drastic but its there sometimes. Both sticks seems to be very loose when lightly touching it and doesn’t seem firm like how a regular Xbox controller is. I also bought this from Best Buy so that may be a reason. But other than that there’s no huge problems with my controller. I can play whatever I want just fine. Maybe just cause I’m used to the controller or maybe not I’m not sure.

Elite Series 2 is a big let down with the double click issue for the bumpers (sticky buttons and drift on the analogs were present, but IMO not nearly as much as this double click issue). For those who don’t know, I’ve owned 7 Series 2 Elites (not a joke). 6 of them had the bumper double click and 1 had the sticky buttons and analog drift. Best-buy has since UNSTOCKED this product due to the amount of exchanges and returns (I was next to the lady when she called the distribution center and they told her they no longer carry this product). People are selling these controllers for 300 dollars on Amazon now.
If the Series 2 was perfected 3% more it would be the perfect controller. Literally using it before the bumper issues start (you get about 3-8 weeks of use) it’s better than your wildest dream. Not kidding. The trigger stops, paddle clicks, and shorter paddles are game changing (like out of the box improves your gameplay). Elite series 1 is wild, don’t get my wrong it’s what I’m currently using, but the triggers go in too far and the paddles were too big for some people. PRO TIP: a dude now sells elite series 2 paddles on amazon. I’ve bought some and use them on the series 1, pretty amazing.

Whenever I press the right analogue stick slightly too hard it disconnects from my Xbox.
Purchased one the other day, stick drift immediately out of the box. Exchanged for another the next day.. same issue added with Bluetooth issues. Exchanged again yesterday... and they are shipping me out a 3rd controller. I don’t have much faith the damn thing will work but I really do like it. 🤷🏻♀️ If this doesn’t work returning completely for money back.

first elite v1 has RB and LB issues. Was excited to try the Elite v2 hoping they fixed the issues. I absolutely love the V2 the feel and customization options but here i am looking to buy another one because of excessive stick drift.
My elite 2 got that problem
Just bought one last week (ordered through Microsoft) and got it in the mail yesterday. A button sticks and doesn’t always register. I also have drift in the right joystick. I’m returning it and going to stick with a normal controller. For me to have problems out of the box when this issue was known for over a year is very telling. I’m going to wait for the next generation, these are too expensive to have so many issues. If anyone is considering one of these, all I can say is stay away.

Elite V2. Both sticks wouldn't click anymore after 3 months. The replacement controllers left stick started either not responding or responding with a delay after 1 month. One of the reasons I watched the video was to see how common it is. I still have half my warranty at least. Wishing I got an extended warranty about now.

How old is yours? I have the same left stick issue. You can go to the elite setup app and see if it is registering correctly when pushed.

My elite controller when the left stick is clicked in it grinds on something
design flaw in all elite controllers, because of the adjustable tension sticks. Your only solution is to grab on to the stick with something you can grip tight (your tshirt) and screw the whole thing counter clockwise to release some pressure. Not the little screw under the stick, but the whole stick itself. Put on the longer stick for better grip, and rotate it counterclockwise.
We shouldn’t feel pressured to buy a warranty cause it breaks too easily
That’s not why you buy the warranty it’s so that at the end of the 2 yr warranty you get a brand new one for another 40 bucks and 2 yr warranty

My LB button stopped working completely on my first elite 2 and it disconnected for 10 seconds every few minutes. Got a new one like a week ago used it all of 4 times and its disconnecting like the other one did
