🙏The following is excerpted from the seventh chapter of the Lankavatara Sutra:
At that time the world's most respected master uttered the following verse:
It is separate from all dharmas and roots, and is neither a result nor a cause. It is separate from the perceiver and the perceived, and separate from the seer and the seen.
The Buddha has no visible dharma regarding various conditions and the five aggregates. If there is no visible dharma, how can one differentiate?
It is neither doing nor not doing, neither cause nor effect; it is neither yin nor apart from Five Aggregates, nor is it anywhere else.
What kind of distinction is there in the mind? It cannot be seen through differentiation; that dharma is not non-existent, all dharmas are like that.
Because it existed first, we say it does not exist; because it does not exist first, we say it exists; therefore, we cannot say it does not exist, nor can we say it exists.
Being lost in the not-self and not-self, they only cling to sounds; they fall into the two extremes and speak falsely, destroying the world.
If one is free from all faults, one will be able to see the Self and the Dhamma. This is called right view, and one does not slander the Buddhas.
