Why would he apologise? If I was brainwashed into killing people and had 0 control over my brain or body, I wouldn't apologise either. I would feel horrible for being used like that, but why the hell would I apologise and what would a man apologise for in a situation like this? "Hey man, I'm so sorry, I was brainwashed/mind-controlled and was forced to kill your parents. I apologise and won't do it again." Some of you have the brain capacity of a toddler.

The pain of watching it the pain knowing you can’t stop it. Cause it a tape, it already happened a long ago. But watching it now finally. Howard’s relationship with Bucky is very underrated when you think about it, they both didn’t know each other for that long and most of us assumed that Howard only knew Bucky as “Captain’s best friend”, however the fact that Howards still recognizes him immediately after nearly 50 years after the war ended and didn’t forget him even after he was supposedly “dead” since the 1940s tells us a lot of about Howard.

To this day I think this scene is MCU at it's best. There are no crappy and forced humour. It works perfectly. I am not really keeping up with MCU these days (got over it after No way home) but I hope they bring the writers and directors of this movie back because they know characterization.

It’s an avengers movie. They just couldn’t call it that cause two of the most powerful avengers weren’t there. Which is good cause I bet Thor would’ve sided with Tony. He understands wanting remember for parents deaths.

I feel a great empathy for Bucky. As far as he was ever aware, he was fighting alongside Cap defeating hydra agents and ever since he fell off that train, his entire life was no longer his. Enhanced, branwashed, and forced to kill people who were once his comrades is nothing short of terrifying. To quite literally be in the passenger seat and watch yourself murder people on behalf of the very enemies you sought to stop.
Why would bucky fight back? In spite of his overwhelming guilt, he just wanted to live, and EVERYONE around him apart from Steve just wanted him dead. Whether he was responsible or not for what people went through, whether he was in control or not, he will forever see himself as a man on the run, a guilty man.
A simple "im sorry" would NEVER have cut it.

Initially yes but I think Steve would've been able to convince him to stand down during the "he was brainwashed" part. A lot of the rage Tony was under just came from feeling betrayed that Steve never bothered to tell him. One other person being in the dark too could've helped make cooler heads prevail.

I think steve might have been able to talk him out but he would have definitely been pissed initially, part of that rage was definitely due to feeling betrayed by steve. If this was the first time though I think that infinity war would have played out a little differently.
