This was fun to watch. When I was very young my mom wouldn’t let me watch “Lost in Space”. But I watched when it was on after school in the 70’s. I wanted to be Will Robinson so much and have all his adventures. Little did I know that when I was in my early 20’s, that our paths would cross, and I would actually be on a first name basis with him. I worked for his brother in law, and he would visit from time to time, always saying hello and being a nice guy. He asked me once if I still watched the show. I had to admit I didn’t have cable at the time, so I hadn’t seen the show in years. He asked what my favorite episode was. “Visit to a Hostile Planet” was always the one I looked forward to because of how the Jupiter 2 looked full size in a parking lot. One day I came home from work and a package was waiting for me from California. I opened it and it was a VHS tape Bill had dubbed for me with my favorite episode, his favorite episode, and the pilot. He also included an autographed 8x10 for me. I’ll always remember how kind he was. He didn’t have to be so generous, but all these years later, he’s still my hero. Oh, I did like “Space 1999” as well.
It is true. I knew Bill for a few years. I worked for his brother in law for about 8 years. Bill, or his wife would visit from California perhaps once a year. He was always very friendly. One year he was in town for an appearance. He asked if I was free that Sunday. He said he was staying at the Ritz Carleton, and invited me to come to the hotel, have lunch with him, and go with him in a limousine to the show. He said I could hang out while he signed autographs and see the different vendors. Unfortunately I had to work, and I couldn’t get out of it. Another funny thing was after he and his wife had their children, my bosses mother spent time in California with them. When she came back, she said “John, I know you’re the only one who will appreciate this”. She was at their house alone and the phone rang. She answered it, and it was June Lockhart calling for Bill. It was nice to learn he still kept in touch with everyone from LIS. He told me he spoke to Jonathan Harris at least once a month. I still have the VHS tape, and the photo.

This was so much fun to watch. Jupiter 2 is the best ever along with the engine sounds. Best line from Dr Smith when the robot pins him “Get off me you bloated blimp!” Taken from Season 2 Wild Adventure.
THIS was excellent . I totally loved it and looked at it twice. Wonderful editing . I loved both shows equally as a kid and this is a wonderful cross over for the fans of both shows. Too bad the main cast members of Space 1999 could not also be credited at the end of the video. Thank you for this.
This reminds me of an actual production company version of crossover episodes that were done to the old Space Ghost series (produced by Hanna-Barbera), where the characters of that show met up with characters of its other superhero series that were on the air at that time. Something I've never seen done again.

Congratulations, this is terrific. Decent continuity and great merging of two dramatic scenes. I was thinking this incident was going to cause the "Breakaway" of The Moon a la the pilot ep. of Space:1999. Both of these programs were classic Sci-Fi series and great to see both of them in the one sequence.
Actually, according to the original series premier, the Jupiter 2 would've launched almost two years earlier (Oct. 17, 1997). Whereas Moonbase Alpha (and the rest of Luna) were blown out of Earth orbit (circa Sept. 14, 1999).
So, if Chronos the Time Merchant wasn't just plain lying to John and Will Robinson in Season 3, it could be that the "uncharted asteroid" that J-2 might otherwise have fatally collided with (should Smith not have stowed away as in the original time line) might actually have been Luna, itself!
@@carykillingbeck2874 Yeah, but by Season 3 when they were finally loose in outer space again rather than stuck on some planet most of a season they'd have been in 1999, so this is what happened when they finally came back.

Well, when you obviously have an Eagle 1 Pilot that: 1) Fires freaking missiles instead of Lasers 2) Obviously can't fly worth anything resembling his normal sober self What else can go wrong on Alpha? This was comical for me.....had to be because knowing 1999 like I do the likelihood of this happening is about the same as Earth breaking free from it's orbit and heading out towards Jupiter 2's namesake to become it's moon.... That said, it would be interesting to have tried this mash up with the Lost In Space Motion Picture from 1998.
Lost In Space was a high quality TV show filmed on 35mm high-resolution film stock. The colour and overall clarity was outstanding. Ditch the current Digital garbage and return to film. ☝️😕

True. Unfortunately you can't edit the video to correct without junking the entire video from the channel and re-uploading it all over again. You can remove sections, but cant correct them. Space 1999 just cant take a break.
A good job of blending the scenes from the two programs! One thing I always love about the Lost In Space credits: seeing the theme music credited to "Johnny Williams", later known as John Williams, with too many wonderful movie soundtracks to easily list here!
MOST EXCELLENT!!! If only Freddie Frieberger had made it clear that it was the 'Jupiter Incident' responsible for the death of our beloved Victor and Paul - it may have brought closure to that open wound spanning the 46 years! Great video from the two most influential TV shows of my early life - WELL DONE !!!
I do ‘t see Moon are Alpha being the aggressor. Further, I don’t see them pressing the attack when the “UFO” didn’t return fire or have any weapons. I grew up with both series and though editing is good for the available footage, I was hoping for a more peaceful outcome.
Wow. Nothing left of that base. Great editing and entertaining short film. Funny to think when I was a young boy in the early 70s I would take two paper dinner plates and glue them together to make a Jupiter 2 space ship toy. So much fun.
The Lost In Space incidental music works well with Space: 1999. The Jupiter 2 could easily out run an Eagle, and is just maneuverable, but I love both ships! But did you have to beat up Alpha so badly?!

Perhaps we should send some?!?).But I will continue my quest to find the scene I described that traumatized me at such a young age and get back to ya as soon as I find it.I can tell that you are probably more clever than I (I'm half FERENGI,YUK!) So I'm depending on you to find the answer to my mystery before I can!!Well it's medication time...good hunting !!!
In all of Sci Fi history, no other ship has ever matched the utilitarian versatility of the "Eagle 1"
But the Jupiter 2 is indestructible!! .. meteors just bounce off it, and it can crash on any planet without damage .. truly amazing!!!
@@KrustyKlown The happens when the planets are made of styrofoam .
The Galactica sets some high standards.
This is Great!!! Brings back memories. Now you need to add the doomsday episode of Star trek. Thanks for the video 🙂
Awesome and very well done seamlessly.
You combined Lost in Space with Space 1999. Nice!
This was a fun video to watch ,,, I Love Lost in space ,,,and Space 1999 what a great mash up ....🎉
Wouu!! Fantastic production. Congrats!!
No way no way. ! Yo this made my Sunday . Thanks !
Well done! You combined two of my favorite childhood shows.
Irwin Allen and Gerry Anderson sure loved their pyrotechnics!!
*Excellently done, I love it* !
Post apocalypse:
Alpha Base and Jupiter 2 (what ever happened to Jupiter 1?) would have to experience nothing short of a miracle to be able to recover from that much computer damage. On Alpha Base so many critical to reconstruction dying from decompression and flash freezing!
In Bill Mumy's comic book series it's revealed that Dr. Smith blew up the Jupiter 1 on it's launch pad.

Interesting. Thanks.
This is so awesome!! Such a grand pairing of two sci-fi classics--LOST IN SPACE and SPACE: 1999!! Who'd have thunk that these two great sci-fi space shows could be united?? Awesome as a possum with a blossom!!!! :) :) :) :)
Well done. Never expected to see two childhood favorites together like this. Jupiter 2 was one tough little ship.
No one TOYS with the Jupiter 2, or The Robinsons.
Lost in Space , 1999 should be a classic.
Just needed Travis and his pursuit ships.
Well did survive those tinsel radiation storms and rice metor showers.. and revamped voyage to bottom of the sea monsters
Very clever editing! Great fun for LIS fans! Loved it!!!
Lost In Space, Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea and of course Star Trek all had great and very remembeable "Danger' music.
Thank you "Johnny" John Williams!
First time seeing this excellent job 👍
My 2 favourite shows of all time ! Nicely spliced & particularly loved the Music , which totally set off with the Explosions , was bloody awesome ! Thank You for the Fun Time … Cheers Teri 🇦🇺😎👍♥️
WOO HOO! I loved it! Cheers to the wonderful mix, beautifully done. Thank you So much to whomever created and uploaded this.
More Please!
Greatest mash-up I've ever seen, Pure Genius! Look forward to more! Still remember as a kid in 1965 looking forward to the premier of LIS, hooked on space ever since. Recommend a movie I watched on you tube - Exploding Sun, many great space themed movies I never heard of. Thanks Elon for all your efforts towards space travel. We live in exciting times!
I see it as the Eagle crashed into the Nuclear Dump storage area setting off all the explosions.
Well, my own dumps have been known to cause explosions, so...
Well, when you obviously have an Eagle 1 Pilot that:
1) Fires freaking missiles instead of Lasers
2) Obviously can't fly worth anything resembling his normal sober self
What else can go wrong on Alpha? This was comical for me.....had to be because knowing 1999 like I do the likelihood of this happening is about the same as Earth breaking free from it's orbit and heading out towards Jupiter 2's namesake to become it's moon....
That said, it would be interesting to have tried this mash up with the Lost In Space Motion Picture from 1998.
Well, maybe the last dump contained Mexican nuclear waste...😉
Lost In Space was a high quality TV show filmed on 35mm high-resolution film stock. The colour and overall clarity was outstanding. Ditch the current Digital garbage and return to film. ☝️😕
Now this is the lost in space I remember ..even though it fan made ..it still very good ..love it
dude, one word for you: AAAAAAWWWWWEEEEEESSSSSOOOOOMMMMMEEEEE!!!!! love the editing work. giving me a few ideas for my own stuff. you need an award for this one
Well done good editing. Loved both shows....
Dear Mr. Hutton: That opening line in the prologue should read "...Commander John _Koenig_ ." 😉
True. Unfortunately you can't edit the video to correct without junking the entire video from the channel and re-uploading it all over again. You can remove sections, but cant correct them. Space 1999 just cant take a break.
@@The_Jupiter2_Mission Which I guess makes the codicil to Judge Iko's ruling: "Don't mess with the spelling of Koenig, either." 😉😉😉
Excellent job editing and lots of splosions. I like splosions
That was AWESOME!! 💥 Lost in Space was my FAVORITE SHOW!! ❤ The music alone is FABULOUS!! 🏆
The year 1999 from the 60's meets the 1999 from the 70's..Ill bet Commander Koenig would really "Dig" the Robinson's Groovy outfits.
We know if this was during season 2 of Space 1999 Don and Tony would have gotten into a fight and then had a few drinks afterwards.
Excellent editing. The story was just not landing with me, though.
"Shoot first and ask questions later? That's not like you, John" -Victor Bergman
This was over the top hilarious how well it worked. TWO THUMBS UP
👍🏻👍🏻
Agreed!!🧐
Rest in Peace 🙏 🪦 Actor Mark Goddard Lost in Space Pass away October 10,2023 age 🙏 87
awesome job. J2 is my all time fav spacecraft - and then Millennium Falcon followed by Klingon Bird of prey
A good job of blending the scenes from the two programs!
One thing I always love about the Lost In Space credits: seeing the theme music credited to "Johnny Williams", later known as John Williams, with too many wonderful movie soundtracks to easily list here!
dont forget gilligans island! music
I absolutely enjoyed this so much.
Lost in space had the best incidental music of any tv show in history.
As much as I disliked Jonathan Harris' character of Zachary Smith, got to hand it to him. He was one terrific actor and I hear a human being too.
Excellent, bring back some good memories. You should make part 2
🖖😎👍Very cool and very nicely well done and very well executed on combineing two great shows together as one indeed👌...
OUTSTANDING!!! Nicely edited! Loved it!!! Robinsons Rule!
✌♥️🙂
Two of my favourite shows, skillfully mixed 👍 Well Done ✅
Loved both shows. Especially this video!
This is awesome!!! Love the endless rain of sparks and explosions!!!!
This is fantastic, very well done. I was expecting all the explosions to knock the moon out of orbit! :)
or knock the Moon back into orbit.
I do ‘t see Moon are Alpha being the aggressor. Further, I don’t see them pressing the attack when the “UFO” didn’t return fire or have any weapons.
I grew up with both series and though editing is good for the available footage, I was hoping for a more peaceful outcome.
This is awesome, great integration of the 2 shows. Well down just awesome 🖒... cA
Wow! Completely destroyed the base and killed people but they will have a nice dinner! As a kid I thought what a terrible thing they did.
Wow. Nothing left of that base. Great editing and entertaining short film. Funny to think when I was a young boy in the early 70s I would take two paper dinner plates and glue them together to make a Jupiter 2 space ship toy. So much fun.
That was actually really good I love both shows I watched them as much as I could when I was a kid.
Great job editing!
The Lost In Space incidental music works well with Space: 1999. The Jupiter 2 could easily out run an Eagle, and is just maneuverable, but I love both ships! But did you have to beat up Alpha so badly?!
Haha Very well constructed
Two of my favourite TV shows of all time ❤
I rate this a 10!!! brilliant work on this,my friend!I'd like to get this on DVD but just seeing this here on UA-cam,and having had both shows on DVD,was a very unique experience.i grew up with these shows, some of my favorites when I was a kid.do more!
This boomer was thoroughly entertained; well done. Best 10:59 time spent since the creation of consciousness. Glad Lord Google's algorithm offered your work.
Great stuff! I wish there had been more episodes of the Jupiter in space and being attacked by alien ships..
