Pixar’s best IMO
Michael Giaccino is a genius! This and Up's score might be the best Pixar scores. The acustic guitar sounds so nostalgic, which gives the movie the perfect sense of missing your loved ones that are gone. Life and death indeed. Amazing.

Sometimes I think I’m cursed because of something that happened before I was born.
See long time ago there was this family..
The papa, he was a musician.
He and his family would sing and dance
and count their blessings.
But he also had a dream.
To play for the world.
And one day... he left with his guitar...
and never returned.
And the mama? She didn't have time to cry over that walk-away musician.
After banishing all music from her life..
she found a way to provide for her daughter.
She rolled up her sleeves... and she learned to make shoes.
She could have made candy or fireworks.
Or sparkly underwear for wrestlers.
But no.
She chose shoes.
Then she taught
her daughter to make shoes.
And later, she taught her son-in-law.
Then her grandkids got roped in.
As her family grew, so did the business.
Music have torn her family apart.
But shoes held them all together.
You see that woman...
was my great-great-grandmother...
Mama Imelda.
She died way before I was born.
But my family still tells her story every year on Da de los Muertos “the day of the dead”
And her little girl?
She's my great-grandmother, Mama Coco.

Say what you want, but I'm genuinely overjoyed that Michael Giacchino is making music to this day. First time I heard his amazing music was in a video game called Medal Of Honor and I've been catching his music ever since. He's a beautiful artist and hats off to this man for giving it his all in Coco and everything he does. ^=^

Though then again the Academy is full of idiots who don't respect animation so I wouldn't be surprised.

It won. It's my all time favorite since is like family.
Despite what Miguel said, I like to think that Imelda did cry over Hector. The relatives that passed her story down either wanted to focus on Imelda's achievements instead of her struggles or were unaware that Imelda hid her real feelings.
I also believe that she was very sad afterwards. The song Pixar made called "La bikina" was in the end credits to the Spanish Coco and the song lyrics are about Imelda being sad and crying because she missed Héctor. Also don't see why she was that mad at him and had such a hard time forgiving him if she wasn't upset that he left
