    You've remarked before that George, a young, self-taught, by-ear guitarist was so inventive and had remarkable fretboard knowledge and intuition, given his age and experience. Out of context, his fills you demonstrated seemed glitchy and a bit random. But when recorded, added to what was already laid down, it was brilliant. I've been listening to this song since 1967, and I heard his parts, but never heard them this way. Thanks for showing us this.

    Mike, I absolutely love your Beatles song renditions, certainly the most authentic. I would love to see you include the bass parts as part of the lessons, I think Paul is an underrated very rich bass player.

    • @MPfrance
      @MPfrance  2 роки тому +5

      Gchord - I've answered this many times so with all due respect here's my cut and pasted answer:
      It takes the better part of an entire week for me to do one of these lessons on the guitar parts. Research, figuring out, deciphering, memorizing, videotaping, recording audio, editing video & audio, creating chord blocks in PhotoShop, mastering, bouncing.wav files, writing out the chart & tabs, inserting video clips, bouncing to mp4., uploading to UA-cam (the upload alone takes 6 hours) etc. etc. etc. I do all this by myself. I'm a guitarist. I teach guitar. I do play bass. But to also teach the bass as accurately as I do the guitar parts would add another day or two of work and make the videos more than 30 minutes long. Most viewers don't even watch the entire video. A UA-cam clip can earn 1 - 3 cents per ad view - but EVERYBODY skips past the ads and that GREATLY decreases the revenue potential. So, with a wife and son to feed, it's not even cost effective for what I'm doing now.
      I used to NOT include the bass (video) in my lessons but I do now include it for the student to (at least) see how it was done.
      In UA-cam, you can slow the video down to half-speed and perhaps figure the bass part out by yourself. That's how old guys like me learned how to play songs. By slowing down the records to half-speed.
      Hope you understand.

I think each of the Beatles may have just ad-libbed their parts in the studio, but were so in tune with each other, they instinctively knew what to play to produce the final result. Your final representation of the song was pretty accurate and I love your historical analysis of how the song evolved in the recording studio.

    Great video as always Mike, I always loved the guitar tones in this song and it's always fun seeing all the nuances that I never picked up before when playing with the actual records. Still hoping to see a video on Hey Bulldog or If I Fell at some point

    You really nailed this one. I compared it with the isolated bootlegs that became available a few years ago, and it is right on the money. Great job!

    Great work, Mike! I love the deep dives and also a great performance at the end. It amazes me that, like Paul, you can play the bass and sing at the same time. Brilliant!

    Great again! Wonderful how a song sounds like having some minor chords and actually only has 7 chords!
