To answer a couple common questions:
Dark Souls: Nightfall will be exclusive to Dark Souls: Remastered. We would want to extend the mod to PtDE as well, but there are technical limitations inherent to PtDE that make it unable to support some of the ambitious changes Nightfall is implementing.
Nightfall is entirely single-player content, to the point it will disable connecting to the game's online servers while it's installed, so you won't be at any risk of being banned from regular Dark Souls Remastered online play for using it.
You won't be restricted to only using the katana. Other weapons will be usable, including some new weapons with unique models created just for the mod.
Should I wait for Elden Ring or Nightfall ?

I mod for a game as well (Xcom 2 in this case) but I almost never specify which game it is in the first comment unless asked about it afterwards because it's just not a relevant thing to mention especially if it's in a conversation for an entirely different game. (Aka in this case Hatboy mods for Mass Effect as you can see on their channel if you could of even bothered to check first instead of being snarky, a game that was never intended to be modded, it's not relevant to Dark Souls here)
And even if they did make mods for a cell phone game...who cares? Modding is modding regardless of talent or releases, most people make mods for either themselves or for others to enjoy, not as some sort of "egotistical" show off to impress some random person who would rather insult/belittle first.

It's people like you who make the Dark Souls community awesome. Thank you, been following you on twitter and it's so great you have come up with a release date.
At first when seen the title and thumbnail I thought that Fromsoftware was releasing a Dark Souls spinoff or another dlc for dark souls 3, but after watching the trailer I can gladly say that I am just as excited for this mod. It looks like a lot of hard work and care was put into this, and it makes me happy to see that DS:R is getting the treatment from the modding community that I feel it deserves.
@dr4kz0r Dark Souls Remastered literally has like 0 good mods for it right now dude. There are people out there who probably can't get the original game or don't see a point in purchasing it seeing as how they've already bought the remaster.
@dr4kz0r they said that ptde doesnt have some of the code and assets needed for a mod of this scale so it really isnt their fault

From what I understood, is this a "what if" if the Chosen Undead ended the series at 1? I really love the concept of chasing after the dying light.
Such a badass idea for a sequel. I was kinda miffed that linking the flame was canon in 2 and 3.
@@meyes5671 Well my interpretation was (told by ds3) it doesn't matter if you light the bonfire or not(in any of the games) because someone will link it eventually. It might be the character you are playing currently or another character(even Andre in ds3 explains that not linking the flame and the forever darkness stuff is not possible, the flames will always be connected sooner or later). In ds3 there are multiple npcs who lit, failed to, or choose not to lit the flames(Including bosses, I think it meant to symbolise that everyone's individual playthrough could have happened or they did happen canonically), but the cycle keeps repeating until the world finally ends with Gael and the paining.
@@j.kallai4348 I assumed the idea was of cycles, that naturally, even in an era of dark, flame will eventually return, then fade again, etc. I honestly don't like that, though, because that takes all the weight of the choice at the end of DS1
more like what happened in the scenery when choosen undead laying up to be a dark lord instead link the bonfire which is the normal life cycle one

Don't forget that It also seems to add a parry mechanic similar to that of sekiro but then again I don't know about that I could be wrong
There is a similar mechanic in Outward actually, but without those black effects.

@dr4kz0r they literally can't do that because ptde has inherent limitations that mean it can't run the mod. if you wanna play the mod, swallow your pride and buy the remaster.
also, mods like these could only ever benefit bandai namco and from software, it's not a standalone version of the game out for free or whatever, it's a mod that (I think) will only work for legit steam installations

the castle at 0:23 could use some rim lighting or maybe some degree of cubemap reflection, the color tone doesnt quite match the surroundings,i mean yea i know its a mod but idk if its possible with the tools you have in ds modding

Better make what they did with Anor Londo in dark souls 3 puts some clouds so you can't notice it from distance and boom surprise when you arrive
